old game but good
Its uses maps and armies and traveling fighting foreign or at bome
This game might be the ancient ancestor of Crusader Kings, Mount and Blade and Total war series.
Old but gold. please give this game a chance.

love being a samurai, google the controls when you start playing though
This is absolutely one of best dos games of all time. Modern AAA games can't compete with this.
I played this for hours and hours when DOS was the OS of the time.
It is a good remake? It exactly the same only I can play it on my 4K TV. Worth the money for me.
It is very versitile in what you must do to grow in the ranks and finally become Shogun of Japan. But at the same time you can achieve that goal in one day. I needed an extra num pad as the game needs it and my keyboard no longer has one. Katana fights is a thing of experience, I can tell you what I do exactly but I do know which buttons to bash for a favorite outcome. 2 story house missions seem more impossible now then when I played it on DOS. But I just let them kidnap my wife and heir and go about my business. It is risky because your heir is your backup when you unexpectly die and haven't saved for a while.
I don't know if it stands the test of time for newbies, but if you know it, it's probably worth the ridiculus amount of money for an abandonware game from the 80's.
