Bro this game I liked it but it's not the best as far as action goes but it wasn't that bad. ITs like meh good
Really good game!!! About million year old ancient misteries, but only for real shamans ;P
I think, it's fair tosay that this game falls into the category "Psychological horror walking simulator with puzzles" The art design is nice, the premise (being losely based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft) is interesting.
Sometimes it feels a little wonky (there's a brick on the ground, have to move a little left to proceed forward).
But atmosphere in general keeps you going. Some nice jumpscares.
I'd give it 7/10
I will start this out by mentioning that I actually enjoyed Conarium. Why do I not recommend this game then? Because quite frankly - I am not a fan of games that pretend to be adventure games but are in fact walking simulators. The game is too simple, too easy. There are maybe 2 actual puzzles in the game and even then they are very simplistic, the inventory screen might as well not exist and there wouldn't be much of a difference. So although I did have some fun with the game I cannot recommend it in good faith due to my own standards.
How's the story? It's mostly alright, I'm not the greatest fan of Lovecraft's Mountains of Madness as I feel it describes one of the less interesting parts of his world but if you enjoy that story yourself you will probably enjoy this too. The ending is underwhelming, it would have been better if we were left without knowing what the titular Conarium does, the fact that it merely turned the protagonist into one of the lizards feels like a very boring resolution for how much the Conarium has been built up during the story. In the same way I feel like the Conarium was a really cool idea that would probably have done better if it was the center of its own cosmic horror story with its own ideas instead of relying on Lovecraftian mythos.
A few times I got stuck on some furniture for no reason which was somewhat annoying but it wasn't a big deal.
There is a moment where the game introduces enemies, but they're more annoying than scary and thanfully they don't reappear later on.
The biggest flaw of the game is geniuently that it is just not an adventure game, it's mostly an exploration walking simulator which I'm not the biggest fan of. Yes you TECHNICALLY have some puzzles (if you consider copying a pattern from your in-game journal somewhere else a puzzle) but they're not really engaging. If you don't mind that, then go right ahead, but I personally do.
I am hungry for more of these Lovecraftian Treats
Drawing inspiration from Lovecraft's works, this game captures the essence of his universe with a strong atmosphere of hidden horrors and a gradual descent into madness.
While the game is short and the puzzles aren't particularly challenging, it delivers a solid Lovecraftian experience for those seeking one.
buen juego, aunque los puzzlez en veces son un poco dificiles.
I loved Darkness Within and I love this.
Very keeping in the spirit I think with a great scientific slant.
H.P. Lovecraft is very hard to read and even harder to depict in movies / games.
This game right here does a very good job in bringing Lovecraftian horror to life.
I liked the exploration part of the game and the visuals are mind blowing.
The game is on the short side but it didn't bother me as I believe otherwise it would overstay it's welcome.
Short and sweet as they would call it.
I bought this game for very cheap so treat yourself to this hidden gem when you have a few $$$ to waste.
Captures the Lovecraftian vibe better than many other games I've played. Not especially long or complicated, but still fun.
I can't recommend this game, sadly.
I have no idea why others have liked it, but i'd stay off on this one.
Puzzles, i don't think which are very welcoming and as easy as others say, is not necessarily hard on their own, but are disconnected. In most cases, you are given an item in an irrelevant location and expected to backtrack and put that item into another irrelevant place which you might've stumbled upon before and said "What the fuck is this place.". I didn't like the map design, didn't like the enemy design, and i don't think the story is well written/well connected.
To give credit where its due, there is obviously some effort that went into this game as it has okay voice over, even if not the best, and very good technical side as the game runs very smooth.
Bummed this wasn't the experience i was looking for, as it gave me a "Son we have Amnesia: The Dark Descent at home" bred with a wannabe SOMA and the offspring had a very weird fetish against reptiles. Anyway...
rapidly becomes GOOFY
Although the environments are pretty and the Lovecraftian references are deep, Conarium is at its core a short, dull walking sim with puzzles that are mostly fetch/backtracking quests, and a plot that leaves many gaping holes and questions. Grab it on sale if you're a big Lovecraft fan.
Noice 👌
New gaming PC running.
This game crashes after 5 secs into a new game...every time. I've tried the normal things to fix a game like this but nothing has worked. No refund allowed. Don't waste your money
Nice Lovecraft trip - great soundtrack
Still looking for a game that had me as engrossed as this one. Especially with Lovecraft stories
Got bored. The submarine level is pure stupid.
Conarium is an average exploration mystery, my preferred genre name for these types of games. But it really is the kind of game that leads to the "walking sim" pejorative. It's short (~5 hrs), and rather thin. My thumbs up is primarily because graphically it is a gorgeous game, full of rich lore and world-building. The problem is, that's mostly all it is. There is some suggestive Lovecraftian story here, but it's mostly told through cinematic sequences and journal notes. The game is very linear, which is a shame because each chapter has a world that looks like it would be a lot of fun to explore back and forth. But you just wander through it in a direct line and then you're on to the next one.
In some ways, it's a poor kid's Aporia, which is a similar kind of game but with much more open exploration, better lore, and more intuitive puzzles. Which is the second issue I had with Conarium. While some puzzles have clear hints and guidelines for solving, others felt really opaque and arbitrary to solve. The inconsistency of the puzzle clarity was frustrating.
Also unlike Aporia, Conarium has a brief and unnecessary "chase sequence" that is quite discordant from the rest of the game. In Aporia, there are sections with a persistent stalking presence that involves real stealth mechanics and challenge. In Conarium, there is a brief section where a mysterious assassin sends some zombies after you, and it's just a chase around the block and escape, and then that's it -- no more chases, and you never hear about the mysterious assassin again.
Again, it's a beautiful game, and it's short, and it has some interesting lore, but I'd rate this on the lower end of the exploration mystery genre. Aporia is much better, and if you really want some great imagery, lore, and thrills, I recommend SOMA or Ammesia Rebirth more.

ბოლოსიტყვაობა: კარგი თამაშია კონარიუმი. ზომიერი სიგრძის, საინტერესო განწყობითა და მოვლენებით. 8/10.
enjoyed my time with it
It looks interesting, but I can't get past the first few minutes without become so nauseated from motion sickness that I have to stop playing. If you don't become car sick, then go for it.
Very cool game. Overall about a 8.6! Got foggy in a couple of places but no negative review here!
I loved the Submarine sequence and the game similarity to Subnautica specifically to graphical reference to "Blue Crystals" (no value) but same visual. Glad there was "2" endings though not really tying up all the lose ends necessarily. But for anyone who has ever read H.P. Lovecraft, It was a trip! Thanks.
Honesty,I didnt really dig the game, but I like these types of games so im having a hard time giving it a thumbs down since it wasnt awful and I was able to stick with it till the end. Id recommend waiting for it to go on sale. I bought it dirt cheap.
I do not understand what I just completed. Story is one of the worst ones. Audio is monotonic and it sounds like recorded in a few different places. Graphic - below average at least. And every stone tries to catch you - I was stuck so many times. Controls are terrible. Running - I still do not understand how it works. It can be that you can run if you are not tired. But if you are tired - screen tries to come to you. Watch - there was no need to use it at all. I do not understand why it was there. This game is really bad. Even good testing would not help it to recover. Enemies - clunky controls and clunky enemies makes a perfect couple. I would like to unplay it and never know about it again.
I wish I could recommend this game. I usually like Lovecraftian fiction and games, even the janky ones. And this one is very janky. Just to play I had to search up a startup command to prevent it from crashing on startup. I had to load multiple times because I couldn't move after interacting with an object.
The problem is this game commits the worst sin. It is boring. It's got an ok story, I guess. But the movement and controls are slow an clunky. The few actual puzzles are also ok but nothing special. Typically a matter of collecting some notes and interacting with an object while constantly exiting and opening your journal to look at the notes. The exploration is very linear, with only short detours off the main path. The majority of the game is just walking around collecting items and notes. There is really no sense of danger. So much so that the first time there was an actual threat I walked right into because I'd been conditioned to have no fear and just keep walking forward. Even the few threats there are were easily avoided with no real excitement.
In my opinion it does not live up to any type of horror or even fun so, sadly, I can not recommend this.
Conarium is an excellent Lovecraftian game. You explore an Antarctic base and subterranean temples and fragments of your own memories as you delve deeply into dangerous knowledge. Definitely one of the best Lovecraftian games I've played. It's attractive, tense, moody and compelling. Definitely a good game.
Well... this was a ride.
After finishing Call of Cthulhu (based obviously on the same name short story) and Sinking City (based loosely on Shadow Over Innsmouth AND Call of Cthulhu plus a ton of other short stories), I was drawn to another lovecraftian game, Conarium, based on Mountains of Madness.
Straight on the game offers from all the three games played the most introspective, and the most inner investigative, and the most non-combat one (this is not a fighting game, something you could be very well say from Sinking City... in here, if you have an entity in front of you, you run, don't think, run)
The game's immersion, GFX and SFX give you a lot of jumpscares. Which is rather nice. The quality of GFX and SFX is marvellous, bringing you inside of the story properly. The story itself develops slowly and you get to feel the tension raising as more and more of the mystery becomes apparent and basically how F'ed it is.
Typical Lovecraft basically.
A couple of notes trying to avoid spoilers
1 - Think carefully about putting the screen too dark, you will surely miss objects. The game is already complicated in the lighting as it is, in full brightness.
2 - save frequently
3 - the game is designed to trick you, expect losing time in dead end logic and clues.
4 - not all doors open
5 - expect obvious puzzles and what the hell ones
This is a must buy for any lovecratian fan. Go for it
Neat little narrative experience. Only a couple parts that broke immersion or were unintuitive.
