Our first release: "Kaijuland Battles" features 4 cartoony kaiju from the (now sadly defunct) Kaijuland game. This is our "bare bones" release - we'll iterate to really tune our core combat mechanics & controls during Early Access.
Our next CKC game (The Fall of Nemesis) launches next year with 9 original characters designed & voted on by our fans, and 2 special boss characters designed by guest contributors Jeremy Robinson & Monster Attack Team.
CKC features 1-4 players, online or off. Gamepad control only - YOU MUST HAVE A GAMEPAD TO PLAY!
To submit your own character for a future title, or just to join in our lively kaiju discussion, visit our forums!

Y’know, normally I’d play a game, beat it all the way through, and give some insight into my general thoughts. But I CANNOT BE ASKED TO DO THAT THIS TIME! COLOSSAL KAIJU COMBAT IS A DISGUSTING, BROKEN GAME, MADE BY THE SAME TEAM THAT WORKED ON THE ALMIGHTY AWFUL GODZILLA UNLEASHED (although you can blame Atari for their corporate greed and incompetence for that clown show), HAS BEEN IN FLIPPING EARLY ACCESS FOR ALMOST A DECADE, AND HAS BEEN FILLED WITH MANY LIES, FALSE ADVERTISING, BROKEN PROMISES, AND TONS OF QUESTIONABLE DESIGN MOMENTS. *Phew* Okay, did that grab your attention? Good. Now let’s get right into the thick of it. As we will soon learn, CKC is borderl- no, not borderline, this is straight up broken! I’ve already given out my frustrations in the intro, but let’s just do crud already.
Presentation
Visually speaking, I think CKC might be one of the ugliest games I have ever seen in my entire life. Now look I get this game has been in development hell for at least a decade and most of the artists and animators may have been inexperienced with 3D modeling, art, and animation but that doesn’t excuse why the game looks like that. I’ll excuse the UI for being basic, but the character selection sprites. What the heck is this crap? The monsters look like they are t-posing or are frozen due to brain-freeze. The issue is not with the monster designs in my opinion, no it’s much worse than that. We need to talk about the animations which I think almost all look garbage. Literally most of the monsters in this game move like toddlers having a slap fight. (Kids, please do not have fights on the playground.) To make matters worse, the sound design. SWEET HONEY ALMIGHTY THERE IS NO SOUND EFFECTS, IN A FLIPPING FIGHTING GAME! Oh no..., it’s my worst nightmare; no sound effects that keep fighting game competitors coming back to their favorite fighting games. Also, not that it matters, but the announcer calls the characters’ names way too fast and sounds like someone who did not want to work on this game. Honestly, I don’t blame them.

Gameplay
So, remember when I said this game might have been in early access for at least a decade? Well, maybe the devs came out with some updates? Well, TOO BAD, SO SAD! This game felt like it received no updates whatsoever. This game feels like DBZ Budokai, but with even worse controls and a crumby camera that feels like it can’t walk and chew bubblegum at the same time. I get that this game is still in early access but come on, even early access games like Extreme Formula by LakeFeperd and PsiloSybil by bad_vertex had WAY more effort put into them than this. The fighting feels awful, the camera feels awful, the movement feels awful, everything in this game feels awful. While playing I kept telling my fighter to move and just hit my opponent. By the way, it’s ludicrous that you have to play at least 5-10 minutes to write reviews on games like this.

Final Verdict
So, what have we learned today? Well, we have learned that when you make promises that you can’t keep, then everything will eventually come crumbling down. Why did I play this? Well, because I saw Matt McMuscles’ video describing what happened with Godzilla Unleashed and I was curious to try it out. As much as I despise this game, I want to clarify something. I’m sorry about the developer who passed away during the making of this game. My heart goes out to their families, friends, and loved ones. However, that does not excuse the developers’ actions of abandoning this game and leaving us in the dark. After playing for like a few minutes, I immediately asked VALVe/Steam for a refund before the 2 hours and 2 weeks. If you like this game, please have fun with it; don’t make me dictate what you can and can’t play. However, any who wants a refund immediately, please go to “Support,” select “Purchases,” click on the game you recently played, and say “I’d like to request a refund.” This game is the definition of over-ambition and broken promises. It almost feels like these devs scammed their audience. Anyway, that’s the end of the review. I hope you enjoyed it, or at least learned something from it.
Verdict: 11/30
