It was actually the only newly developed game for SEGA's 16-bit system in the new millennium. It's not a port, fan translation, or a copy of any other game. I tried to like this game, but the controls are pretty terrible even after you remap them and when I tried to exit out of a menu that didn't elaborate what it was for, it exited the game and I lost pretty much the whole first 45 minutes of gameplay. I think they game could be fun, but there are A LOT of menu and control issues that just made me rage quit, to be perfectly frank. Battles are a bit wonky but nothing too far off from old school turn based combat, but it looks like they are choosing to arbitrarily make battles longer/more difficult by having only one or potentially two of your party members being able to even hit certain enemy types. All in all, I can't really recommend this game unless you're willing to adjust to a frustrating and somewhat opaque gameplay for the sake of what sounds like it could be a pretty solid old school JRPG story.
