Warm Damp Hug Edition
The Dropsy Warm Damp Hug Edition includes the official Dropsy digital soundtrack by Chris Schlarb, the Eternal Hug music EP by Jay Tholen, and Dropsy's Book of Secrets - a collection of over 100 pages of tips, sketches, concepts and ramblings from designer Jay Tholen.
About the Game
After a deadly circus fire shatters his world and tarnishes his name, Dropsy the Clown finds himself on a journey of self-discovery through a story that harnesses themes of love and unmerited kindness. With his father gravely ill and the world turning its back on the once celebrated clown, Dropsy will need to help those in need, hug total strangers, and unearth dark secrets on the winding road to redemption. Oh, and Dropsy can also talk to animals.Dropsy is a non-traditional take on the classic point and click adventure formula starring the game's perpetually carefree namesake clown as he explores a richly detailed world full of colorful characters and sinister secrets, doling out hugs along the way. Rather than lead players on a singular narrative path, players are free to determine which avenues of adventure they want to explore in an open world setting and can piece the puzzles together at their own pace.
- Open World Adventure – Players are free to choose which avenues of adventure they want to explore in an open world setting and can piece many of the puzzles and story bits together however they choose.
- Text Free Experience – Communicate with a bizarre and colorful cast of characters through an innovative use of visual icons rather than traditional text-based dialog trees.
- Puzzles and Hugs – Challenging puzzles and complex conundrums stand between Dropsy and the secrets behind his shrouded past. With clever thinking, tender hugs, and the help of his animal friends, Dropsy can overcome evil and win the hearts of the people around him.
- Evocative Soundtrack – From gentle electric piano and saxophone melodies of the starting area, to the space echo drenched dub reggae tracks of a vampire-hunting swamp village, to the bombastic fuzzed out quasi-prog-rock of the endgame sequences, Chris Schlarb and his band of minstrels give every area in the game a distinct sense of place.

i feel hugged
Too dumb to play without peeking in the walkthrough. Too dumb to follow the walkthrough. A few bugs detected, will restart the game and complete the quests in different order. Dropsy is the best, loved him. Now want a hug. TT
Can give hugs. 10/10
.
Wholesome game you didn't know you needed. Hug everyone you see and collect pets.
really heartwarming/ and heart-wrenching story very cute at points. i miss this game
A very strange and entertaining point and click adventure with a lot of heart. Reminds me of the old 90's adventure games starring a load of weird and wonderful characters. Dropsy is a delightful adventure! Just a side note: for those that like to get all of the achievements, I had to restart all the time for them to pop so that was a bit frustrating.
Dropsy is such a beautiful point and click game! The game was really fun and had some great art! Dropsy the clown does look like American Horror Story's John Wayne Gacy though 10/10
A happy game that makes you sad
Super disturbing
Exploring the world solving puzzles listening to the jazz esque soundtrack was a nice experience. The game can drag a little if your stuck but, there are guides to take a quick peek at before any hair pulling occurs.
Dropsy is a great main character, full of happiness and wanting to spread it to others.
I give this game a rank A (88-92%)
Excellent game - you should definitely do it!!

What does it say about me that a barely-sentient nightmarish clown feels like a self-insert (for me, not Jay Tholen, no offense Jay; Project1: It's Time)
So like, Dropsy is exactly what every adventure game should be. Gorgeous, great audio, interesting yet ridiculous story, just enough going on in the background to keep you wondering what is coming next, and most importantly never leaving you feeling like you have absolutely no idea what is going on nor how you can possibly find a way to progress further.
Make no mistake, I was there 3,000 years ago for the earliest days of (graphical anyway) adventure games, and I understand back then that puzzles requiring brute force solutions like using every item in the game on every object in the environment were commonplace and basically expected, but I hated them then and I hate them now. Kudos to any game that avoids that artificial game length extension technique entirely, like Dropsy does! Hooray!
A throwback point-and-click in that like the classics, it revels in its own quirkiness and taunts you with following the same mental processes as the developers in order to make progress.
The story is very sincere and sweet. Truth be told I never became jaded about the animation for hugging each new person befriended. Ditto the charm of re-remembering you have a hug button and wondering if you can hug [x] - you usually can.
I wouldn't say it's the type of game for everyone. Its highest points are the cute ideas for interactions, the heart of a point and click where spreading happiness comes above character goals, and the attention to detail of the visuals. While I give benefit of the doubt for being in the same mould as things like Monkey Island and The Neverhood, which were never intended to be easy or perfectly clear, there is a layer of obfuscation to everything the game conveys to you. Some of the dialogue-less speech bubbles can be misinterpreted. Instead of selfcontained puzzles, you're supposed to find objects in some pretty obtuse locations and use them in ways that don't always have a logical throughline, dampening the feeling of figuring out the answers.
For example, I had to resort to a guide for the final third because it never occurred to me to use the Mouse to look underneath the fridge in the first area, which had no visual indicator like other Mouse interactables do, etc. I don't think I would have ever completed the game without assistance but, again, being frustrated at a point-and-click is kind of part of the package.
I recommend it to people who enjoy that kind of thing.
More moist huggery, less skull duggery.
Pretty relaxing and wholesome. Got me in the feels some times. Wouldn't say it's very fun or interesting. Has a nice story and the ending is great.
This is like playing old games, but the ending was sad.
