About the Game
Run, jump and slide to the rhythm of your own music library!In Melody's Escape, advanced audio detection algorithms transcribe the energy that you feel when listening to music into a synchronized gameplay experience, with a captivating and dynamic obstacle course. The game will adapt in real-time to the intensity of your music and change the movement mode accordingly, from walking during very calm parts up to all-out flying when your music explodes!
Your goal is the help Melody avoid obstacles and collect floating light orbs, all of which are synced to the beats of your music of choice thanks to very accurate beat detection. With the 4 available difficulty modes, you can choose whether to have a relaxing experience or a very intense one.

worth every penny hours of play ,never ending as long as you like music ,part 3 please
THE GOOD:
+ Pretty graphics.
+ Stellar audio quality.
+ Autoplay makes a good screen saver.
+ Tempo Analysis can warn players ahead of time how well a custom song is integrated into a level.
+ Customization isn't limited to just music: you can adjust a level's speed, respawn time, button presses regardless of difficulty, etc.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD:
- Custom maps will have button-presses that don't match a beat or note in a song.
- Anyone with FPS issues may have to look elsewhere: this game doesn't allow any FPS customization.
- Meters depicting a song's atmosphere may through off beginners as they progress to higher difficulties.
- Autoplay only shows one type of difficulty. Even if the player isn't playing, they can't choose if autoplay will take place on the easiest or the hardest map.
- Atmosphere for custom songs doesn't always match. For example: a song with a fast, bass-heavy chorus will get slow-paced obstacles while a much slower bridge gets the speedy rocket-shoes.
- Custom options can confuse beginners, as there are no explanations for what each piece of a level refers to (ex. "what does it mean by 'density'?").
PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
~ This game introduced me to Shirobon's work, and "Regain Control" has to be my favorite track.
~ I learned my rhythm game skills have gotten rusty because my fingers started to hurt a few songs in.
~ I bought this game 5+ years ago and started replaying it now. While I don't remember how much I paid for it at the time, it's current price ($9.99) feels a little high for what feels like a small game.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
The ability to play with your own songs is the main pull for Melody's Escape, but the only on-beat obstacle courses are for songs that aren't from the player's own files. I can only recommend this game if you plan on vibing with Shirobon's music and Shirobon's music only. The generated custom levels for custom songs just...fall flat.
I just hope this issue was addressed in the sequel.
