The aestetics of the game is great! With surreal visuals which sometimes because of the limitations in lighting it feels ominous and creepy.
This game dosen't do a lot of hand holding, so i spent most of the time playing trying to figure out where i am and where to go to progress.
You should go find a detailed map or walkthrough before playing (Prefferably one without pictures as to not spoil the coming visuals).
The bad part:
Gameplay is slightly janky like alot of these point and click games.
May have problems with compatability with newer computers and displays.
Hints where to go or what to do are sparse and/or cryptic.
Music could have been a bit more atmospheric. It feelt a bit "dry" to me.
This was one of my first point and click games apart from some kids games i played in my childhood and it feelt rough.
Go play the more popular games of the genre first before this one

I wanted to SMACK that giant laughing clown.
Repetitive music, obtuse puzzles, and tedious gameplay with a lot of backtracking. I still vibed with it, though. Follow a walkthrough, put on some chill music of your own, and it's not a terrible way to spend a rainy afternoon.
A fun classic. The visuals are the big plus of this game as the plot is rather thin. Most of the puzzles are engaging and fun but mostly I just loved watching what visuals the game gave to me. If anything this game suffers as a product of its time with multiple items you pick up but cannot use and a really clunky control system. But if you enjoy 90s point and click adventures this is definitely one to try out. It's a short but enjoyable game.
A sense of nostalgia is restored after finishing this game for the first time since I played it in the 2000.
It used to run on DOS / windows95 with CD support on a 100Mhz pentium machine.
It Works on Linux, have some quick saves options build in, music plays properly, you can skip the intro.
Movement arround the mazes can be done with arrow keys, fullscreen view toggle is available with F1.
The cons :
The ending scene is kinda disapointing after the atmospheric build up.
The items are wreidly placed and many things are unexplained, it is part of its charm however, I've spend so many hours trying to figure out the logic of the puzzles however for some there is none.
Some interresting items you grab are pointless while others more mundane are key to the success of the your run.
Keep in mind that you operate in a frozen time continuum, changes you engage in a past keyframe can affect future keyframes.
- There is one hidden key in the music box at the bar (silver color).
- Before stealing the last artefact in the lunar base be sure to have the brass key
- To avoid running out of coins make sure to insert one in the phone booth, coins are needed to enter the garden maze from the phonebooth side.
- dont waste your coins on the fortune teller before solving the puzzle in the theater
I played for the nostalgia, I stayed for the graphics. Fun little game I bought back when it was first released. If you remember 7th Guest fondly you'll probably enjoy this '90s game.
I was attracted to this game because I saw some screenshots of it, and I like checking out more obscure games.
As much as I love the graphics though, the actual gameplay is not very fun. The controls and navigation are kind of weird and hard to get used to. The puzzle solutions are that sort of point-and-click brand of obstinate that made me want to look at a guide a lot, plus there are a lot of mazes to navigate. (Admittedly it is called "The Labyrinth of Time" for a reason.)
I still haven't finished this game because I got stuck pretty far in (I think?) because of something I messed up at the beginning, and I haven't felt like restarting in order to finish it. ::-(
Overall, I love how it looks, and there are a lot of really cool locations. The gameplay makes it hard to enjoy. Maybe someone else with more patience will enjoy it?
Sadly I can't recommend this game, and I don't believe it could be called a classic. The fact it unfortunately came out a few months before Myst does not take out the fact it is in itself not a good game. It has good ideas, and wants to tell a nice story, but ultimately it is quite academic, boring, and repetitive. So much wandering in labyrinths without anything to do, and with totally unjustified and random environments. The art also is quite messy, and often doesn't fit. It is not an awful game, just mediocre/bad. So many text adventures are better than this, and to be fair, if you need to play fantasy 3D puzzle games from the 90s, Myst is the masterpiece.

Criminally forgotten adventure game. Keep in mind that there are "western adventure game"isms like pointless items, unwinnable situations, etc. but still a relatively friendly game all in all.
Kind of adorably bad, it's hard not to appreciate the effort that must have gone into this game, made by two people back in 1993. Still, as adorable as it is, I can't say I recommend anyone actually play it.
1990s-era point-and-click that's showing its age.
The puzzles and controls are just too annoying and the graphics are dated. The story didn't hook me, so I didn't feel a desire to try to finish this one.
I crushed a train car, and inflated it with a bicycle pump. When I realized what I could do, I had to do it over and over again.
It took me quite a while to decide whether or not I'd recommend this game. I like it, let's be clear on that, but I love this type of game in general, so that is certainly affecting my judgement. But many other games do this better, and this game engages in some prime sins of bad point and click adventures.

Sins:
1. Looking at an object should never result in the message "Nothing Happens." Everything you look at should have a description, and if you're looking at something that was never programmed to be looked at, the message should at least say something more like "This isn't anything important."
2. You can work yourself to points where you are stuck, but not dead. This shouldn't happen in this type of game. You should always be able to progress, or, if you can't, see that the game has ended.
3. There are many items which you can pick up which serve no purpose in the game. If they do, and I just don't see it, then I apologize, ignore this complaint, and in small doses this is okay, but during the course of the game there were more items in my inventory which I did not use than those that I did.
4. There is not much to do compared to the amount of area you can cover. I've gone through huge mazes that had nothing important inside them (for example, the hedge maze) and may as well have been one room. it doesn't encourage the type of exploration a player will want to take part in.
Verdict: If you're REALLY jonesing for a stroll through the adventure games of the 90s, get it. it's cheap. I got it on sale, when it was REALLY cheap, and for the price, it was worth it. If you want a good point and click game from the 90s though, I could better recommend:
Myst
Lighthouse
Shivers
The Journeyman Project Series
Check those out first, they're all a lot more fun, if you can get your hands on them.
Classic, obscure point and click adventure game. Filled with music that is part of a general tv background music from the late 80's and early 90's. I loved this game back then and I still love it. fun adventure game with a slight sassy streak.
using all the quarters in the middle of the mirror maze on that machine is worth doing once. (you have to use it on that one phone to get a ton back first)
And make sure to use the sword on the window on the moon! Just fyi ;)
Make no mistake: The Labyrinth of Time is an adventure game from 1993. Most of the puzzles are mazes and inventory fetch quests. Much of the story is told through journals. There are a few ways to get stuck. If you doesn't sound appealing, steer clear. But if that's your speed and you want an adventure game experience with a unique artistic sensibility, this is a must-play.
The world of the Labyrinth is a patchwork of surrealism, Art Deco, and classical architecture. The art direction is mesmerizing. There is simply nothing else like it in any game. Every room is with worth seeing, every useless inventory item worth examining, every dead-end worth the trek. The dark, horror-influnced soundtrack reinforces the idea that the Labyrinth is a truly alien place, and the light-sci-fi archaeological time travel story is also entertaining.
By the end, the constant backtracking and repetitive mazes can get a little tiring. But The Labyrinth of Time deserves a look for its art and atmosphere.
