RTS games ain't my thing, maybe it's good, I'm just not the target audience.

This was a great game. Today Retold took most of the player base. It is dead now so a little bitter sweet.

One doesn't simply desaturate the library poster and expect people to buy the newer re-re-release version!

Just an all around fun game minus violence, gore and unnecessary bloodshed. Good stories, characters and myths coming alive.

Wasn't better than Retold, but now it is because Retold updates have ruined the game. And it's stayed broken for half a year. Stay with EE

I played this game when it first came out as a CD for either Windows 98 or XP. Having a blast playing through the campaign again. Good story line, some nostalgia factor for anyone who has place AoE or Empire Earth. Graphics are definitely a product of their time but the game still holds up well for a nice single player strategy.

Great game to play with friends. Online games vs friends or together or against AI. Very customisable, can play with cheats and pauses etc on. Can also save online games and come back later. Myth units, heros and god powers for me put a spin on AoE that only adds to the experience.

Age of Mythology Extended Edition, real-time strategy video games have been my favourite genre. There are levels & scenarios for every skill level. I never tire of playing Age of Mythology-extended edition. I am 67 years old.

A NOICE and old but gold strategy game that has a simple yet easy to follow story and 4 well made civilizations (yes even the Chinese ones I liked them very much FreeGardenResources4EVAH) . This game is such a legend that it got a Retold version with all the modern quality of life improvements and its legacy continues on. they even remade the Chinese civilization if you don't like the old one.

The Gods are pleased with this one

Age of Mythology is a game similar to the classic Age of Empires, except with a mythological twist. Along with gathering resources, building armies, and attacking opposing civilizations and players, there are several gods to choose from several different civilizations, and each time you age up, you can select different minor gods to add to your civilization, all with powers that can alter the game, such as meteor strikes, fires, portals, and various others. This is a great old game that's plenty of fun. With multiplayer options for those who want to play with friends, as well as main campaign stories to teach you the game and showcase the different civilizations. Overall, this is a game that I have loved for many years, and I am very happy to play it again.

age of mythology is same like age of empires 2-4 :D but with gods and new soldiers.

the best game that openned the path... too bad servers are down ( i think )

for some reason the game wont start, it use to run but now it wont even start, it just goes to black for a moment when its launched but then it stops and returnes to steam, i dont know if its a update or something that broke it but hopefully one day it gets fixed.

Great game but now I need to buy the next remastered version. CAN YALL PATH THE GAME INSTEAD OF JUST RE RELEASING THE SAME GAME EVERY FEW YEARS!?!?!

LMAO... imagine this. I bought this game some time ago wishing to play this and remember the time when the life was more easy. Now, I cant xD because... dunno ask to the devs why they destroy literally the game. The first time, I see an error that "I need the steam running to run the game"... but I have steam running. I uninstall and install it again. Worst. Now, this dont even run it. *sigh*. Well... I dont recommend this game AND dont buy the other version of this game. Maybe, in ten or more years, they just remaster the remaster and destroy the remaster. xD.

Campaign has bugged out several times for me where an objective actually doesn't progress (while I'm unaware of this), so I spend time playing only to realise the save is scuffed and I have to start over from the point the objective was supposed to change to something else.

Shame, since I used to play Age of Empires 2 and this hits the sweet spot of being nostalgic yet new.

Playing this game for years; its nostalgic, good solo or multi play. Solid mythos, great campaign, well generated maps

I've played the original for endless hours during my early teenage years. I loved the campaign, the Titans and the LAN matches with my sisters. Now I played the campaigns again with slightly improved graphics, modern PC compatibility and played a ton of LAN matches with my wife. This is my favourite Age of Empires game even if it differs in name. I loved the mythological twist, the spectacular god powers and the best Age campaign ever. It is so memorable! AoM is a fantastic RTS game and you should play it! Or maybe play Retold instead. It is time for me too to play the game again, now with my son.

A fun and enjoyable RTS. i still remember 10 years ago playing the disc version on my uncles pc making maps and fighting AI worth every penny

why does it run better and faster in older pcs?

Far more superior than the remake they released. Surprisingly this version has better performance, no unnecessary censorship, and the UI is better. Plus it's cheaper.
