Описание

This thrilling new adventure game from master storyteller Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight, Gray Matter) and Phoenix Online Studios (Cognition, The Silver Lining) introduces Malachi Rector, an expert in antiquities whose photographic memory and eye for detail transform people and clues into interactive puzzles.

When a secretive government agency enlists him to determine whether a murdered woman in Venice resembles any particular historical figure, Malachi is left with only questions. Why would the U.S. government hire him -- a dealer of high-end antiques -- to look into a foreign murder? Why does David Walker, a former Special Forces operative he meets in his travels, feel like someone Malachi’s known all his life? And how come every time Malachi lets his guard down, someone tries to kill him?

Moebius: Empire Rising is a contemporary adventure that merges classic point-and-click puzzle solving with Jane Jensen’s sophisticated storytelling. Travel the world using Malachi’s unique deductive powers to analyze suspects, make historical connections, and uncover the truth behind a theory of space and time the government will defend at any cost.

I originally played the game in 2016 and in 2025 I replayed again, the game still holds up extremely well. I had no issues playing the game, first or second time.
I love and grew up mainly playing P&C adventure games and normally I go back to play them if I really like them. Kind of sad it took me so long to come back and replay this game.

If you like any of Jane's games, or just a fan of P&C- you might like this one. I recommend it.
The game has areas it excels in and areas with flaws.

Moebius is yet another game done by Jane Jensen.- The voice acting of course is really good as usual.
Plenty of puzzles and world building and a great story to follow and lose yourself, Moebius is no exception.
The puzzles are pretty easy, and there's only 1 specific puzzle that's repetitive really.

I really liked the story and how it was done, same with any of Jane's games I got immediately sucked in and knew I was going for a ride. I think this game is well worth trying for all the P&C gamers out there that want more to play.

When it comes to the characters I really liked the two main characters- Malachi and David. I get why Malachi is the way he is, he's dark, guarded, doesn't trust easily, and can be an absolute prick- then you have David who is the bubbly sunshine to come into picture, break through Malachi's defense and Malachi does lighten up and gets better as the story goes on- Honestly with those two characters put together- their chemistry is fantastic. I adore them.

There's a intro comic you can read on the main menu... Which explains more of Kye as a child so it's understandable why he is the way he is.

The game does have small bugs, but nothing game breaking that I found. If I go through dialogue once, and I reload the game and go through dialogue again I would fast click and sometimes the game didn't like that, and it would almost 'lag freeze' trying to keep up but that was really it. Sometimes I would click around too fast and get Malachi to tweak out a bit which I found kind of funny.

The Cons

Graphic wise the only downfalls I saw were how some characters mouths were made when they talked, and some body proportions. The mouths bugged me, but the body proportions I just kind of forgot about it after a bit and it didn't bother me anymore.
Some animations can be wonky, but for me it wasn't a big deal.
I did notice in a couple of scenes that sometimes the voice is a bit lower.

Animation wise, the game isn't perfect, it has it's flaws and can be really wonky. I can understand why it bothers people, is very off putting, and honestly they could've been done better. I just can't give the game a negative review based solely on animations alone though.

I can see where people say the game felt rushed, at some points it does- especially the ending, but that's the case with a lot games, where the ending is or feels rushed, but that's nothing new- plenty of games out there with rushed endings.

Jane is genuinely a master of her craft and it hurts that she hasn't been able to make more games, they had to unfortunately close Pinkerton Studio in 2016 and she's tried doing some kickstarter stuff for a Gray Matter 2 but to no avail.
You can always expect well drawn and gorgeous art from her work, and amazing story telling.
Honestly I wish she had so many more games that I could play.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit.

Sharp and concise writing. Strong characters. I laughed often and deeply.

Good pace, good length. Great variety of puzzles with intuitive UI.

Good graphics with some particularly excellent animation.

Mercifully, no traditional Jane Jensen hair-pullingly-frustrating end puzzle.

I truly love this game. I will play it again to make different choices and earn the remaining achievements.

I´m surprised how bad this game is since Jane Jensen is the game designer. I´m a big Gabriel Knight-fan and think Jane Jensen is the best game creator when it comes to adventure games with great story, intrigue, characters and puzzle-design.

This game however, is rushed - there is no doubt about that. But to sink this low is surprising. The graphic is awful. Looks like the game was created in the beginning of 2000. When characters look at you it looks like they are leaning their heads back and focusing their eyes somewhere on the floor. The game mechanics are more of a challange than the actual puzzles. For sure. The only time i got stuck was when the game mechanics didn´t work and certain items didn´t show, on certain positions, until the third or fourth mouse-click.

The characters and dialogue are bad. Really bad. The personalities are flat and the dialogue development is embarrassing. The protagonist Malachi Rect(um)or is incredible uninteresting and square. Nothing like Gabriel Knight who got a huge and likeable personality that is fun to listen to.

This is absolutely Jane Jensens worst game. You´d think tha games would be better along with the software developmen - but not this one. This game was old already at release.
