So I have been waiting for this game for a while. I remember reading an article about it in 2013 and I was pumped because I was a fan of JRPGs. The game was advertised as a love letter to classic JRPGs, specifically the PS1 JRPGs. This game isn't that. So if you are buying this game based on the kickstarter, previous shown footage, or to play a classic JRPG-like game, you won't find that here. That itself is not the issue for me. I think the game is lifeless. I will go into why I think it is lifeless below.

I will start with the good aspects. The game isn't all bad. The designs for the characters are pretty good. Mithos's character design in battle and on the map is adorable (it always has been in every design). Though, he was cuter in his previous design, but it is still a cute design. Taro is also adorable. They look pretty good in battle too. The art is also well done.

The music is pretty good. I didn't get to hear the full range of music in the game, but it gets the job done. I didn't find myself annoyed at any track, which is a good thing.

The battle system is also good in a way. I do think it is slow and sluggish. I also don't know why the ATB bar is not shown. I think showing the ATB bar would solve the slow issue somewhat. It is weird that I can't see when my character is about to get a move. Final Fantasy has shown ATB bars for years. I don't understand why the ATB bar is hidden. Is there a reason? The mechanic girl was able to use a move to show the ATB bar, but honestly, they should just be shown. That said, I think the idea of something affecting your moves in real time is somewhat unique actually. It also gives a strategic option to wait until your move will be stronger. And waiting also allows the enemy to use the bad colors. The way it works is there is bubbles with red, purple and gray bubbles. The red bubbles buff attack. The purple buff magic. The gray debuffs your attack. So, if you have a mage, you would want to use their attacks when the purple bubble is in play. But if your mage is the only person able to attack, you might have them use a red bubble if you don't want the enemy to use it (it would make the enemy's attack stronger too). As you can see, it leads to an interesting strategic element to battles.

Lastly for positives, controlling the airship isn't downright awful. I actually think it controls fine. I have seen other people that hate the airship controls, but I think it is fine. Also, if there was better environments to go to, I don't think people would be complaining about the airship.

Onto negatives...I think the biggest issue with the game is a lack of any real exploration. The islands are not interesting in the slightest. And your interaction with them is side quests that involve you piloting the airship down to an island for dialogue and then a fight. You might be flying to the islands to pick up machine parts or flying to various islands to find a certain flower. Whatever the case, it is always the same thing. The islands look the same and you never leave the airship to explore them. There is no exploration of any kind. Towns are the lifeblood of RPGs. They show the world and culture. Final Fantasy XIII was the most divisive Final Fantasy because of its lack of towns and gameplay variety. There are no dungeons or towns in this game, and it makes it feel like a hollow experience. The hub town is the only town that I could see and it had no people within it to talk to. No people walking around. It is a ghost town. Nothing in this world makes it come alive. That is why I said it was lifeless.

The story is also very limited. Though, I know this will be fixed in the future so I can't really point to it as a major issue considering this game is in Early Access. Things...just happen. There is no buildup to anything. Also, while the premise of three monsters coming to destroy the hub is interesting, it makes it sort of weird that there isn't any preventative measures your characters can take. You meet Mithos out of nowhere too. The characters themselves don't really speak much and feel hollow. Though, again, I assume the developer plans on fixing this issue largely. He was looking for writers and was going to add story and dialogue.

Overall, I am disappointed in the shift in direction for the game. I much preferred the past footage. I also wonder how much of the stretch goals from the kickastarter will actually be featured in the game. The villain was going to get his own story mode, but I don't see that happening with this new version we are getting. As far as I can see, the only villains are these monsters. Looking at reviews, it is clear many of us were let down by this game and the changed direction. That said, if the game was good in its new state, I would have given it a pass despite it being completely different. But I don't think it is good and I don't see it getting better unless the game has major developmental changes. As I said above, the biggest issue is the lack of exploration and gameplay variety and I don't think these will be added at this point. If I am proven wrong and the game changes drastically from now to the actual launch, I will buy it again considering I refunded it this time. But in its current state, I am not hopeful.

The airship is difficult to control and the combat makes absolutely no sense. This makes me sad I was looking forward to this game for a very long time, and now I have wasted money on this garbage

TL;DR: This is not the RPG game you were hoping for, like it was originally described to be. I could be entirely wrong and, in the future, it may be a great RPG game, but I HIGHLY doubt that. Steam will not refund this scam, er I mean, game. I’m out the money, you don’t have to be. Take caution.

Full Review: Ok, I don’t know what happened to the original concept of this game. It took a major turn for the worst and south. It feels like a lifetime ago I put this game on my wishlist and waited for it ever since. It was supposed to be a classic JRPG, this game is not. I wanted to love this game. I really, REALLY did. Originally this game was everything I wanted it to be and I was beyond excited for it, I truly was. The original concept from images, video, the promise of the classic JRPG is all gone.
The gameplay is incredibly clunky, and I can’t even begin to start on the dialog. Not just the text choice looking ugly, but the dialog is just painful.
I really don’t want to assume this was a cash grab by putting it in early access, but the game is just utterly terrible. Saying this was almost a decade in the making is a total joke.
I WISH I COULD REFUND THIS.
A little backstory on this development. This started in Kickstarter in about 2013 receiving around 200k with thousands of backers if I remember correctly. The “delivery” of the Kickstarter was supposed to be sometime in 2014, which never happened. After that, Kickstarter updates stopped entirely. But it wasn’t just that, Patreon advertising started to come to get more money and patrons to get updates. This song and dance continued even from steam comments pointing to Patreon. It just started to scream scam if you investigated it deeper, I unfortunately did not look in deeper until I had contact with others experiencing the same issues with the developer and game.

I am so disappointed I can't even get my fully thoughts out there on this. Read the other honest reviews like this one and I'm sure you'll get to understand the community frustration.

I picked this game up because I thought it would give me a similar experience to Skies of Arcadia, hopefully with more meat. Unfortunately, Soul Saga doesn't really seem to have that much in regards to storytelling. What I've seen so far of the design looks great (though I don't understand why the senators have soldier sprites), but you have this thing of "boom, you have a guild hall! It's totally ready for you, random guy I met 30 seconds ago! I don't want to do the business of running a guild myself, I just so happened to have already done all the paperwork and bought this property and then waited for some schlub, I mean entrepreneur to come use it!" The game lost me at the airship. "You need an airship? Let's go see. Boom, airship! No, wait, a talking airship!" I'm not saying that an airship can't talk (because fantasy) but it's all so ham-fisted. With some better writing and pacing, I would've given it more of a shot.

After waiting for a couple years I *REALLY* wanted to like this game and I just can't. It's not at all what I was expecting, with way too much airship which is a bear to control and not enough world exploration. The absolute lack of tutorial certainly didn't help matters much either.

I'm glad I refunded this almost immediately.

The original promise and prototype was a classic JRPG with charming art and a simple but enjoyable enough story. It was then remade into...this janky mess. Sure there's a big overworld map but there's nothing to actually explore. You can go over there where it looks the exact same as over here, and getting there is a massive pain because apparently realistic airship controls are made out of hot garbage.

If you dare to complain on the forums you're told that you're being aggressive and banned.

On the one hand I hate to pile on and I was really hoping the developer would take the feedback to heart when this first released and go back to the roots of this project. Instead there has been no communication on steam in over a year and no updates in waaaaaay over a year. This is a dead and abandoned project and it shouldn't still be on sale.

Don't buy until you see another update. Even if it does get revived there's no telling what game you'll actually end up getting.

Edited: 3/10/2020 -- Dev fixed the crashing issue with completing destroyed islands, so i removed that part regarding bugs in the game.

Some Context: I baught this game on GoG first. Then i wanted to make a guide to help players since the game is a little lacking in explanation of mechanics, but steam wouldn't let me cause i didn't have it on steam, so i baught another copy to do that. The point being: my playtime does not reflect my real playtime (which is 5-6 hours at the time of this review).
===========================================

Soul Saga is a game i've been waiting to play for awhile...and while it didn't become the JRPG it initially started as, it has changed into a simple and fun Rouge-Lite that has room for potential and being better; since it's in Early Access.

The game, is unfortunately, a little bare bones. The game is beatable and all the guild members are able to be found and added to the roster...but there is little to do outside of the basic gameplay loop of Town >> explore islands >> complete quest/invasion >> return to base >> sell loot >> sleep and/or repeat

Graphics wise it is clean, looks good. It won't be hyper intense graphics as I can run it smoothly (i have a GTX 620...so yeah, it's potato friendly-ish). Nothing really looks terrible, to be honest and fits the game's world.

Airship exploration is tricky at first to control, but once you grasp how to drive your giant talking Koi-ship, it's enjoyable zooming across the islands, finding hidden loot spots, looting floating barrels, avoiing hazards and narrowly getting smashed by the giant Cloudking skyfish.

Combat is the highlight of this game as it is a mix of ATB (active time battle) and stategically manipulating the "Wheel of Murai"...which amplifies attacks and defence depending on what "orb" the next turn (be it you or the enemy) is on. Mastering the battle system is key to ensuring you have plenty of HP to keep exploring (as your Ship HP is your Party HP) and handling more battles or bosses. Items also help mitigate HP loss so you WILL be using and buying items alot.

Story-wise the game tells you what it's about, introduces characters when they appear and that's about it for the most part. Given, again, this is Early Access...odds are more story rich stuff and character development will be added as time goes by.

Difficulty is customizable via sliders...making sure you can have the PERFECT level of difficulty and benefits the make sure you enjoy the game the way you want to...AND you can adjust it anytime you want in-game! Very Nice! Unfortuantely the game does NOT tell you how the game works in many important areas and you are left to pay attention and LEARN how to play and what works the hard way...which, again, may likely change down the road. Until then, there is a guide you can reference to educate you on these things. :)

Controls work well on a controller...the only problem being that the Ship is a little tricky to master so you will hit islands and stuff alot. The difficulty sliders also adjust the drift of the ship so you can make it easier to control.

Sound wise, everything sounds great. The music has a core "theme" you'll notice between the battle themes and a couple others. Sound Effects are good and not annoying..unless you hate the Radar Beep during exploration.

Bugs are few...There's also another bug that might be related to steam itself, but i seem to be the only one that has it...it corrupts something in the game after closing it and steam goes into a Verification Loop and then Content File Locked when reinstalling the game. So this has prevented me from playing on steam at the time of this review. No one else has the bug that i know of so...i dunno...but i can still play on GoG so, eh. *shrug* For the most part, the game is stable.

Overall, i like the game...i would of loved to have it as it's first incarnation as a JRPG, but i believe the developer can still implement those aspects with a bit of imagination and brainstorming with supporters/fans/backers. The game is EARLY ACCESS...and people, i've noticed, seem to forget what that means as far as a video game is concerned. This is NOT the final form of the game, it's only the beginning and those who jump into the pool early wont have much to do for now, but will get to enjoy what is there until more toys are added to the proverbial pool.

Get this = if you like Rouge-lites, stategic combat, difficulty, want to support the dev
Wait = If you're not much for Early Access or are on the fence
Move on = If you dislike rouge-lites, strategic combat, difficulty.

Til then... Take Care of Yourselves and Have Fun.

With the current price and content this game have, it's not worth it. you can get a more polished game that are even cheaper(unless you really want that airship exploration thing).

From start to finish the game is the same, with nothing to look forward too other than new characters you are unable to use and the only thing you know about them is their name and portrait.

The game has no story, you finish a map go to senate get your cash, then on to the next same thing same dialogue. but since the game is rouge-lite now maybe story doesn't matter but then read my first sentence.

The combat is a bit RNG based, if the enemy goes first with a red buff you're screwed.

On level 30+ maps, the maps are HUGE and there's no savepoints, you go fetch quest item from the eastmost of the map then fetch another from the westmost then return the fetched items to the eastmost again and while on your way back you miscalculated or pretty much you are annoyed about the tediousness and want to get the map done quickly and you get screwed by cloudking, yup alt+f4 and redo the map again.

What the game lacks the most is character development, since I believe that the vast amount of characters is this games' main asset. Your 6 usable characters is the same as it they were in the beginning besides their stats and their hp/body/soul stats of course. there's no new skills, no bio, none.

However, yup early access, the game has potential. like going the route of base building/management then you can assign the guildies for other stuffs rather than just delegating them, build defenses for the grumplin invasions(my main frustration from this game, once you get quite far there won't be a day without grumplin invasion), character backstories, all characters being playable(something I'm looking forward to)...

I'm probably going to check the game out again after a content update, maybe then my review will change but for now I believe I've played the game for what it has and my review is what came out of it.

"Soulless Saga" may be the best way to describe this game.

I'm sad to see a game I was once so excited for become one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had with a game in my life.

I've been following this game since the Kickstarter campaign back in 2013 and I've had it wishlisted on Steam since the store page went up back in 2016.

The game was originally billed as "A love letter to J-RPG classics from the Playstation era like Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, Suikoden, and Persona." and it's exactly that which attracted so many of us to the project.

The game no longer bears any semblance to what was once promised and what we're left with is some kind of menu based Rogue-Lite airship sim.

The airship controls are absolutely terrible. You'll slide, crash and bounce around in some of the worst controls imaginable but under the guise of being "challenging" and "skill based". It's not "challenging" or "skill based", the airship just controls like shit.

The dialogue feels like it was written by a 10 year old. "A very enemy-like enemy approaches!"

The "best" part of the game is the combat and even that feels slow, clunky and uninteresting.

The game largely feels like a visual novel with poor dialogue and minimal story with very little exploration that has terrible clunky controls and the occasional dull unbalanced battle.

Sadly I see no positives in the game in its current form and with the developers policy of lock and delete to censor criticism on the forum I have no faith that things will improve and will be requesting a refund.

I don't know what happened to the game I originally wishlisted this for eons ago, but this aint it. I also don't know where the recommended votes for this game are coming from either, but I suppose to each their own.

-The game was originally billed as a "Classic JRPG experience" only to bait and switch people with an official post saying it was now a Rogue-Lite apparently??
-Even viewing this game under the current lens of what it is and what's there, it's currently a menu driven, short on story, character, and world building breeze through that gave you zero attachment to any of the individuals or events on screen. Everything from the guild, to the members, to the airship are just given to you.
-The aforementioned airship desires it's own footnote since it's such a high selling point of the game now. "Skill based airship exploration" is short hand for controlling what feelings like a flying whale on roller skates as your ship bounces around, crashes, or just generally slides with every movement. Throw out any semblance of exploration either since every map is dry for content aside from a few nodes to maybe collect some resource, but mostly just contain highly unbalanced battles (we'll get to that in a minute). Topping off this problem of exploration is the fact that if you even for a moment leave the safety of flying over land, or fly too far over it even, a massive enemy swoops by to put an end to that pesky freedom and exploration.
-Combat was probably one of the only surviving aspects of anything even remotely jrpg which is unfortunately the highest praise I can give it. Turns revolve around waiting for timer bars to fill before you get to take your actions, but it's combined with this turn by turn modifier system which basically determines for you what you'll get to do, because if you aren't matching with it then you'll do piss all. This modifier also applies to enemies, so at times largely out of your own control enemies will just get to chain attacks on you with back to back damage increases, sometimes before you've even gotten to react, creating an intensely upsetting experience. Nothing about it felt consistent or ever in my control, and that's one swift way of killing any remaining interest.

TLDR; Don't go into this thinking it's going to be an RPG, because after waiting so long it breaks my heart to see what the game has become.

Note: since I first wrote this some big changes, game keeps evolving :D
I haven’t played an RPG in a while and I found this one fun and fresh. I’ve been enjoying the art and music. I didn’t expect to get around with an airship and that has been fun, which reminds me a lot of Secret of Mana (late in the game) or some of the FF games. (they've added some walking but making it more immersive) I’ve also been enjoying a more menu style approach to getting around towns—rather than walking around like a fool for days, which I’ve seen in a few other more recent RPGs. I don’t understand all the negative reviews with less than an hour of playtime. Play the game and you’ll have a good time.

Pros
Interesting airship travel
No walking around and getting lost (update: some walking around but nothing I can't handle)
Enjoyable graphics & music that feel a little nostalgic but unique.
Clear map to explore and clear, which for people that like to pop in and out of a game to take breaks is really nice for when you completely forget what you were doing/where you were going.

Cons
The battles take a little big of getting used to. I know there is a “Tips & Hints” but at least in the first battle highlighting a few things would have helped me.
Really would like the back button on my mouse to escape menus

SOULESS SAGA

Been looking forward to this game for years, refunded it within an hour, what a "Disaastercake" this turned out to be. I'm just really glad I did not back this game all those years ago, bet there's MANY people wishing they hadn't now either.. I feel sorry for them and bet they feel cheated out of their cash with this VERY DIFFERENT game than what was advertised.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME !! keep your cash for Trials of Mana or/and Crystal Chronicles.

Friendly advice. Do not play on any difficulty beyond cake. Why?

Because the game hasn't been hashed out fully and punishes you severely with no tutorial on gameplay mechanics. Get a feel of the game, then play it on the harder difficulties if you so please.

Great promise though, gives a old square enix vibe.

The game is not at all what was promised when it gained so much interest and traction.

Screenshots are overwhelmingly misleading to the execution of gameplay, to the point it may as well be false advertising.

This is mostly a visual novel with very little if any exploration, and what little exploration exists is penalized severely with what is essentially, at the beginning, a time limit.

Very little is explained with the mechanics of flight. Combat is bland and basic, the flight is Wii era Skyward Sword style bland and empty.

Red Flag, wait for development to finish.

TLDR: This is not the Final Fantasy clone you were looking for

As a huge fan of this genre I have been following it closely. My first impression based off of the game play footage was that it would be similar to a Final Fantasy clone with a somewhat non-linear story. I'm sad to say that I am very disappointed with the product. The game is in beta but I honestly have trouble with so much I think a whole new game would be needed by the time the wanted updates could be done.

The combat is linear with approximately 3 options for a physical, a magical, and a special or status selection. The combat in this game is not visually pleasing and does not flow. The combat mechanics in this game feel clunky and just an obstacle to the scavenger hunt style quests. The depth of the quests (from what I have seen) have very little story and feel like task management more than role playing.

The graphics though are what you would expect of this genre with some quality artwork for cut-scenes and just about the only thing I do like about this game. The music is not very memorable and there are no character voices. The monsters at this point are just things that fly and only have one attack. The intro to the game feels rushed and the game itself feels rushed. I will be requesting a refund for this game as I feel like it will not improve.

I regularly purchase games in alpha and beta and am reluctant to post any reviews prior to getting an appropriate feel for the game. Most of the time I am pleased enough with the product, the price, or the effort put into the game. This game left me underwhelmed in all 3 categories. Save your money until the devs cook up a good bit of updates or a completely new game.

I have been following Soul Saga for a very long time, and can say that I really enjoy what the game has become. I have played a lot of the beta versions released leading up to the early access release. While the original design started off as a very traditional JRPG, it has evolved into something totally unique and different. It’s kind of a cross between a rogue-like and JRPG. This creates a gameplay experience unlike anything I have played before. Be warned though, the game is tough and always keeps you on your toes. The game is only enhanced by the beautiful art style, and the top notch music.

A main focus of the game is exploring and completing quests on the airship. Flying is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it, but it has a steep learning curve to avoid crashing into islands or getting knocked around by the huge cloudkings (sky whales that want to kill you). Once you get comfortable with the controls, which feel kind of like steering a boat, you’ll able to fly around and take bigger risks darting between islands to complete quests while avoiding cloudkings, turrets, and tornados. You can also upgrade your airship to get benefits such as faster engines, a nitro booster, or shields to protect from turrets.

The other main focus of the game is on the combat, which has its own variation of the ATB system found in many JRPGs. The unique system that this adds in is the Wheel of Morai, which is a wheel at the bottom of the combat screen. It will either apply a buff or a debuff each turn, which makes combat full of tactical decisions. As you get further into the game, the enemy will invade and you’ll start to become overwhelmed taking on the inkheart by yourself. At this point, you will need to use a bit more strategy to send your guild members out on quests to keep the main city safe from harm.

The biggest downside I can think of so far is that the story is pretty light right now. Although the developer has communicated that this will be a focus to add in during early access. Many JRPGs become rather boring without a strong story, but that is not the case here... the gameplay is enough to keep me hooked.

Disastercake (the developer) also regularly interacts with fans on his discord. He is receptive to constructive criticism, which means the game should only get better and better. I’m excited to see how the game will continue to improve throughout early access.

Unfortunately the game is too unpolished, even for early access. I thought it was going to be a 3d JRPG but instead you fly around in an airship and then just use menus to explore the town? The airship doesn't control very well and there's no option to reverse your Y-axis. The little story I saw so far is pretty barebones and stuff just kinda happens? Gameplay mechanics aren't explained at all and I kept dying in the level 1 quest area. Maybe I'll come back to this but probably not due to a) it not being what it was described as previously and b) lack of polish. I'm not sure this was ready to be put out in Early Access yet?

Some pluses: the artwork is nice and the music is good. I think the battle system could go somewhere interesting. I liked how different turn bonuses would come up (similar to Trails in the Sky but with less variety that I could tell) so you'd have to decide if you wanted to attack right then when the ATB bar was full or if you wanted to wait for a better bonus.

So...okay.

I remember when I added this game to my wishlist. A LONG time ago, almost a year now I believe. At that time, it came across like a standard RPG. It seems (at least according to the developer) that based on a desire not to go with the traditional mechanics, the game has now changed to something more resembling a visual novel with occasional airship-ness. I believe the airship-ness is what they wanted to use as the selling point.

Normally this would be okay, except that (at least from what I did play) the game has become absolutely dry. Instead of a fully explorable 3D world, you are basically just advancing text like a visual novel. A visual novel is NOT what I wanted, else I would have bought that kind of game.

Things just "happen" - here's a guildhouse for you, here's an airship for you, here's your first guild member, etc. There's no real "build" to any of it and the story isn't enticing to go through.

I could forgive the pacing issue, if it weren't for the horrible airship parts. Controls are clunky (in my opinion) and it's just an exercise in fetch quests. Looks nice, but not fun compared to what originally attracted me.

Sadly, I did ask a refund because this isn't at a point where I even see potential to get better. Not without a complete rewrite (which I know won't happen).

I am always willing to forgive developers that get it wrong when they fix it. And he appears to be course correcting. But he maintains a very smarmy, very arrogant attitude about it - like he's offended that so many people dislike his current direction. Maybe, sir, you need to understand that your vision is your vision, but you then will reap what you sow if people don't like it.

Worst case, release two games - the original game you put out AND this other Frankengame that you developed and see which is more popular by sales numbers. Because at the end of the day, that's all that matters - what's going to sell, not necessarily what YOU like.

Here's what we ALMOST got, by the way. Now, if the below video is an insta-buy for you, let the developer know this. Please.

But in the bigger picture of a thing, if you choose to try this game, be forewarned of how you will be treated by a developer that will happily take your money and not respect you as a customer. He'll ban you for challenging his design direction and threaten you for trying to help him understand that he got it wrong. It happens.

The difference is - as with No Man's Sky, for example - instead of going dictatorial, they FIXED their game and welcomed criticism, instead of asking for an echo chamber.

Definitely early access. Not worth $20 in current form.

A bit depressing considering I've been waiting for the game to release for a while, but idk, maybe in another year or two if the dev doesn't skip town. Potential is there, but in current form: no.

Pros
+ Beautiful 2D art.
+ Relatively coherent story, readable english, proper grammar etc.
+ Music's catchy and loops without issue.

Things I'm willing to overlook because Early Access:
* Can only change resolution by resetting the game
* When naming characters you can only type the first letter of their name with the keyboard, must use onscreen KB + mouse for every subsequent letter
* Some fonts looks slapped on, others look tailored.
* 3D graphics pretty barebones
* 3D art assets in the intro seem a bit out of place on top of the 2D stuff - nitpick though.
* Little explanation of what the meaning behind the dialogue choices is
* Unclear dialogue in general: didn't realize I was naming the random guy who.. randomly decided to join my newbie guild for :unspecified reasons:. Thought I was picking my own name as a Guildmaster.
* Doesn't seem like you can explore town? As it is you pick locations based on a (beautiful) 2D map of the city.
* Mithos' 3D assets in turn-based combat looks heavily "inspired" by Cloud.
* Doesn't seem like you can design a character to play as - rather, you're the invisible MC Guildmaster.

Cons
- What in the flying fsck are those airship controls it's like RE style tank turret but with Z axis mixed into "forwards". Was keyboard control an afterthought? It's horrendous for what's supposedly the main focus of the game.
- Unclear direction as to where you're supposed to go / do. Like you can select islands, and the quest info tells you what to look for once you get in, but it spawns you into the middle of a map with no further direction or orientation. There's consumables you can collect by colliding with them midair (which damages your ship? Flashes red + spins you). There's big honking dragon monsters just casually flying around that ram you, and since the airship controls are so aids you're basically dead in the air once one catches sight.
- Combat barebones, so far the only things I've come across I've 1-hit.

Frankly, the only way I think you'd be able to stomach playing this atm is if you've bought into the Kickstarter and have that sunk cost outlook going for ya.
