Ha, i never wrote a Review for the First Blood Bowler... i have to change that, but i will keep it short.
Why now, years later?
I wanted to play Blood Bowl so badly, but my peeps who play on the table are all around the world, so it has to be digital.
Yeah, but why this? There is BB 2 and BB 3 !!
Because this is the one, where the AI is not Brain-Dead, where there is a focus on Singleplayer (if you are more into MP, i would say: Go with BB 2, wait with BB 3 until there is everything oK and the Microshop is gone!).
So thats it.
If you don't know anything about Blood Bowl... You better start with BB 2, because you won't know that the AI is not as good as here, but you will have better graphics and an easier interface.
If you do know about BB and maybe have BB 3 installed and a Singleplayer and not sure to go for it: Do it. Its fun. It works. You can have decent games in here.
This is in my humble opinion, the best of all the Blood Bowl games. I've tried the all, and even with the newest graphics, I find this the best value for dollar. It's frustrating to be expected to keep buying the newest versions of every Blood Bowl, to continuously have to purchase the full game at a premium price, and have to pay extra for "DLC" of the same teams you've bought over and over again.
Buy this version and don't concern yourself with the fancy graphics and save yourself a lot of money!
This game is zogs of fun.

Has more character than the newer versions. Feels like a board game :)
