The hit web game finally comes to Steam, complete with achievements & cloud saves. Now with NO ads and NO microtransactions! Play all the content for free forever, including the base game and its three expansions.
Named one of the best games in the genre by gaming site PCGamesN, and one of the winners of Kongregate's November 2019 game competition, this is a incremental game where you place cards strategically on a grid to generate resources, and you spend those resources to purchase booster packs containing new cards.
Once you have enough resources, unlock the next expansion. Each expansion is its own little idle game that adds new mechanics and new cards to the mix, ensuring the game never gets stale. Later expansions change the formula even more, featuring RPG-like battle mechanics.
Features deep mechanics with various card synergies and many deck possibilities. The game is 100% strategic idler and 0% clicker, so you won't break your mouse playing.

It's ok but would not recommend. Aside from the rare crash it's missing the obvious feature of being able to delete saved layouts. It also currently promises it's next update in 2020.
Good game
Worst Developer ever. Did not get enough sales and instantly startet development for a new game. Did not even finished the game, there are still some parts marked with "Coming Soon".
It's a good game, I like the idea very much. Sadly, the developer only wants to make money.
Do not support him on Kickstarter, he will leave the next game for sure, too.
way to long (that is what she said), its boring and the only positives are the card designs which i think were quite nicely designed but as a game i would rather have my eyes bleached with the bleach you use for asshole bleaching.
final review
time waiting/ things accomplished
Meh. Was fun at first, but as some other reviews have mentioned the scaling is sub-optimal resulting in far too much waiting for little payoff. World 3 feels like a chore. World 2 was... slightly better. Generally uninspired. I have a feeling this was dev's foray into game design.
Props for putting out a game still
I decided to play this again, and went to reset my progress, and it didn't work. So I still have all my stuff. What it DID do is delete the ability to progress, so now I can't advance in the game. The developer has abandoned the game, doesn't even read the steam boards or keep the game updated, and with a massive bug which has stopped all progress, I can't recommend it.
I also tried deleting all traces of the game from my computer and reinstalling it, but that didn't work either. I have no idea where it's getting the save data from. I just want to play the game.
Interesting take on Idle Incremental games, Lots of fun and a giant time sink, Replays are fun when experimenting and not just looking at the already found top mixes for cards.
Highly recommend
So far so-so. Simple, has potential. UI could use a polish. I like how placement of which card matters. I hope more features will come in the future
A humble but entertaining game... It worths the price.
Pros:
No microtransactions.
3 free expansions.
Cons:
The last announced expansion is delaying a year to be released.
Great game. Figuring out the best build for levels was a lot of fun.
Definitively worth its price.
This game does not do idle mechanic right. Your gains grow in linear progression, when price of everything grows in exponential progression. So, to get further you need more and more time.
It's a solid idea and _ok_ execution, but completely lacking polish. Assorted list of complaints:
- The "what you earned offline" box seems to have about a 95% chance of just never going away when you click the button. Have to relaunch the game to fix it.
- The window scaling is weird.
- The game takes an absurdly high amount of CPU. It's an ejs wrapper around a web game, so... something's unnecessarily fucked up somewhere along the way.
- You can't tell what tier your cards are.
- The achievement requirements for the last 3 achievements are... confusing.
For under a buck, it's ok if you want an idle game to check in on every few days.
It's a very fun game, too bad the creator didn't finish it. I was really looking for the last realm to be released in 2020. Had lots of fun finding out the best possible combinations for each realm. After the last fix made, many bugs were removed but still have quite a few. Like, I tried resetting the game to play once again but couldn't hahaha. Please make the final realm.
I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews for this game. First off, the game has a FREE DEMO VERSION on Steam, but is also entirely free on Kongregate. For $2, IMHO there's more than enough content here and I'm happy I got to support the developer. Each 'expansion' in game gives you more board spaces, more cards, more pack options, and more complex mechanisms and card texts. I will admit I haven't been blasting thru each expansion and I probably could have done all five of them in time it took me to do the first three but I have fun collecting all the cards and leveling them up. I also like getting achievements, etc. but it's not like moving from one expansion to the next is a piece of cake. It's a bit repetitive, but getting new cards from different tiers, discovering new combonations and board layouts, and the next expansion on the horizon makes progressing worth it.
Ascensions are fun and give decent upgrades and make prior expansions useful (you can reset/ascend those instead of your best one), although I kind of don't like how you have to upgrade the offline progress time and it's capped at 24 hours, but for a game this size and it starting on Kong it's not a huge deal. You can see the passion put into this game, there's extra achievements from card combos for completionists, and the artwork on all of the cards are all very good looking and thematically appropriate with it's respective expansion. After this game, I will continue to support this independent dev, I would love to see new expansions and perhaps check out some of his other games. They look on par for someone who likes casual games like me!
There's a spark of brilliance in this unassuming little idle game. As an idle game where your entire income is based on how you lay out cards on a board, it brings brand new ideas to a genre that's in desperate need of them and almost manages to create an entire genre of its own.
The constant progression and regular rewards (in the form of card pack opening) keep you invested, with new mechanics being introduced the further you progress. What begins as a fairly solid but standard resource gathering game soon becomes a management game where you're introduced to complex effects, deep strategical thinking and balancing multiple resources.
While the game could certainly improve the pacing (the gap between unlocking expansions is far too long) I can't find a single example of a game that uses the same core idea, making this a unique and very reasonably priced little indie gem well worth your time.
The game itself might be fun (although compared to a normal Idle or Clicker game it is quite simple and not much to do), BUT the game closes constantly, so playing is almost impossible. There are several people reporting the same since months, so it seems its outside of the capability of the Dev.
Avoid!
2/10
Pros: Totally idle, no clicking, easy playing.
Cons: Too many cards feel like useless.
Greetings. Finished current content in around 200 hours and around 80% of this is idle, which is great!
Love playing idle games, at least for now. Waiting for next expansion.
Maths in this game aren't hard.
Plains of war (current last location) feels unbalanced and requires at least 50 ascension points right now imo. Also would be great to give some kind of math table on how damage scales, from where crits go etc etc.
Would like to see more of updates, would say game worth 5$, but it's cheaper :D
Would like to see some more content if you ascended world, more options, maybe some changes for cards or board. Yea ofc need more different looking things, at least a bit, re-colour maybe? Feels strange to use same items though they do different things.
My list of idle games played: Clicker Heroes 2 - wizard rocks/ Dragon Cliff (which i liked until i got to endless grind - don't like it - waiting for updates)/ Idle quest from Artix ent (really bad clicker, bud i finished it - waiting for updates)
I really liked this idle game. However earning "ascension gems" is the main way you level up your cards and progress in game. Eventually after about 200-300 hours of idling you get a message that you've "completed all ascensions" for all the areas. This practically ends the progression of game and making it entirely pointless. Therefore I do not recommend this game. This can all be fixed by simply putting a never ending target for ascension gems that goes up exponentially higher and higher. Such a simple fix would turn this review into positive rather than negative. This is especially unforgivable when you take into account this game costs money and is not F2P. Simple fix devs, simple fix to make it endless. I will check back in future and hope they fix this silly design.
Been playing this for a while and I must say its pretty unique. Once things get going and you progress Things slow down a bit, but each board is individually resettable so you can play how you like. The ability to save loadouts is a huge boon over other games of this sort. Its nice to find what works for you and save it.
This game has good potential, and the developer appears to be actively responding to the requests from the players. This game adds some strategy in the form of a play area and cards that provide different production values and boots based upon where they are placed. To maximize the possible return from the cards that you have available you will have to do a little bit of thinking.
The UI is pretty straight forward, place cards from your inventory or purchase cards and other unlocks to improve your income from the other menus. The progression rate varies on your play style, zone, and a little bit of luck (hoping you get the right cards from the booster packs).
There are no micro-transactions or things that players seem to hate in the other idlers. Also no need for active clicking a part of your screen, so put away your auto-clickers. The UI could use a bit of polish and the addition of more mechanics would be welcome in future updates, but overall the base mechanics and expansion of the idle genre are welcome. A few dollars to support the innovation of the one man development team is not too much to ask.
Pros:
---------
Innovative idle mechanic
Nice art style for the cards
Variable idle progression
Requires a little bit of thinking
Not overwhelmed by systems and buttons from launch
Cons:
--------
Unable to resize play window (Dev working on it)
Music, only one loop and no volume slider
UI could use some separators or buttons to clean up the layout
Depth of play could be increased through additional mechanics and content
Overall: 7/10
A fun idle game that is a bit starved of content for the time being. The dev is hard at work at a variety of "expansions" (basically just new zones, some with extra mechanics) over time. They've released a couple in a fairly short time span and another is on its way. You can blow through most of the content pretty quickly if you can figure out the best "builds" per zone, so it's really a manner of using that offline time and gathering up enough tokens to use in high level play.
Been playing this on Kongregate since its WIP version. I like it, but it needs more to do. Very quickly it becomes a rotation of: Log in, Ascend a zone, spend a few minutes getting your build back, then log off and let offline progress do some work. It's shallow, for now, but worth a look.
