This game is so much fun to play. I love creating the horses and being able to breed the foals. The different breeds make the game even more fun. Lots of coat colors and different skills.

No doubt that this is better than the mobile version. There are so many more features such as the horse creator, betting, and it is easier to get pretty horse coats. The game is completely free after the one time payment, and there are no micro-transactions. While it lacks live events, there is only one currency (gold) which is super easy to get. However, if you aren't sure about buying, buy it during a sale (I don't know when it goes on sale exactly, but I know it does.)

I really like how they added on free roam the show jumping arena and all the differnt horse breeds they have
this is a fun game; i played the mobile version a long time ago. i didn't buy this when it first released but got it on sale recently and it's more playable, to me, than the mobile version because there isn't energy requirements and such. better ranked horses are locked behind quests and upgrades, but that's fine with me; this game just requires a bunch of grinding and it's fun and there's no rush or time limit to do anything.
This game isssss... not worth the money at all. The graphics for the horses are pretty good, and the breeding system is cool, but that's about it. The desktop version is slightly better than the phone version with less of the pay to play aspects (as is the usual for phone games) but the graphics for the humans are ATROCIOUS. It's clearly a mobile game adaption, and I could see this game being worth like $10 tops. But $40???? They're absolutely just being greedy, it's not even close to worth it. I wasted my money because a friend wanted to play it with me but there's not really any way to do anything with friends. This is a $10 game at most. Even $15 is a stretch. This isn't even a full game, it's only the mobile game but bigger with a couple slightly better aspects. It's REALLY BAD. I can't believe they'd charge that much for this, I'm seriously just so shocked. I could play a better game on roblox LMAO
Please heed my warning and use your money elsewhere. Hell, buy Red Dead Online, there's not any horse breeding but I actually have a bond with my horses on that, with incredible graphics and scenery, story, and so much more. AND IT COSTS LESS THAN THIS GAME. It's actually insane to think $40 is at all fair.
The game is exellent if you like horse breeding and genetics. It is one of the best virtual games out there that include breeding of horses. I would only have one complain. I wish there was live events just like mobile version, so we could get roses and other prizes as well.
Is the PC version of Rival Stars worth it? Yes.
I have achieved level 20, so, I'm finally ready to write a review. I loved the free version, but, it didn't run well on my old ass phone. I found the PC version to be a much smoother experience. Rival Stars runs wonderfully, I had zero lag throughout my play through. There are some quirks, you can tell it was originally a mobile game, but for the most part the user interface translates well.
Breeding works well. Horses are cute. The game can be leisurely or intense depending on your mood. Appropriate and fun for all ages, while not aimed at children this game is completely safe for family audiences. By far the best modern horse game, comparable "horse girl" enjoyment levels to the Sims 3. I love the horse creator.
I honestly love this game. I think it's a lot better than the mobile version because there are no purchases aside from the game itself, no ads, the gold is really easy to get, custom horses, and the racing (in my opinion) is easier. I've been playing the desktop version since early November and it's been great! I highly recommend getting the game.
It only took me a week to get burned out of this game, which is fast for me. It was just too grindy in story mode. It was super fun for the first 7-8 levels and then the amount of races you have to do to move through some of the levels got really tiresome. I think the levels should be a bit less grindy so that racing is still fun by the time you reach level 18. It was super frustrating to spend 2 hours training a horse to sell it, only to have another goal tacked on that required training another horse a high level. Just got too repetitive. I'm going to try to finish it, but overall, I think the goals were too challenging to keep the game fun and engaging. I'd still recommend it because the graphics are awesome and there's a lot of good things about it.
Very good game. No in game purchuses which is amazing. Sometimes it can be repetitive and confusing but not long to figure out. It has few flaws, breeding can be irritating to get good stats.
Overall the game is good but not worth the full price so buy it on sale.
I do like it better than the mobile version already. Mobile is full of ads and purchases. It's taken me months to get to level 10 (including the break I took after getting bored/frustrated). The PC version is very fast, I downloaded it yesterday and I'm already at level 8. You can create your own horses, gold is very easy to get (there's no silver in the PC version). Very nice.

As a horse lover, I personally don't support horse racing in real life, however, this game has a lot more for horse lovers to enjoy. There's cross country, free roam options, a very in depth breeding mechanic and is constantly getting updates. This is an amazing game for any horse lovers out there.
I got this game on sale back in 2021. Back then, I would have told you to wait for a sale to buy it. Now? Full price seems fair since they are updating it with huge things. When I bought it, the game only had Thoroughbred horses. No other breeds. It had less coat patterns. No cross country. The devs have added three new breeds, cross country, lots (and I mean LOTS) of coat patterns, and now show jumping arena. It seems to be in beta right now, but I bet they will make it great like they have the other updates in the past. I am extremely happy to seem that this team still updates the PC version, instead of just focusing on the mobile version. I refuse to play the mobile version because of the micro-transactions. I love the PC version. Buy once, own everything! Including free big updates! P.S. Black is best color.

Ive played almost 100hrs of this game, and i honestly plan to play so many more. the levels themselves are a bit grindy sometimes, but its honestly not to bad. the graphics and coats are amazing, and the customization and breeding aspects are really fun.
I loved playing this game, to the point that I completed all the missions in 39.7 hours. I do wish that the developers would come out with dressage and show jumping arena mission section so that I had missions to work towards. I truly love this game and play it to be able to take a brain break, but it is the best horse game that I have currently come across in awhile.
One of the better horse games currently out for PC, despite being an adaptation from a mobile game version. I first started playing the mobile version of this game, but vastly preferred the PC version once I tried it. A definite must-play from me for any avid horse lover.

Wish more tack and courses were available (maybe community built?) but that's just because I can play this game all day every day lol! Phenomenal game, worth buying without a doubt!
Played this game when the mobile version came out, and I loved it but couldn't get passed a certain point, so when I was able to get the desktop version after it had been released I jumped on it and I am not disappointed. I love this game and the creativity and story lines it offers.

I love the jumping in the game and the racing its a fun thing to do and if you need to farm money but cant be bothered to do the race you can skip it witch is nice x

this is one cool game , if your a total horse fan you will want this game . compete in games unlike any other game . i wish there was expansion packs to this game and new racing areas and more .
The name of the game put me off at first thinking it was only about horse racing. This game is so much more than that. The cross country is so fun and the newly added show jumping arena. Not only that but the horse racing is also fun. It has a great in depth horse creator. I'm so pleased I gave this game a chance !!

Good game but not much to do after level 20 other then breed and ride. Also would love it if they added a free camera so I could look at myself in all the 360 degrees (in third-person)!
honestly just quite a cozy game especially since it eliminates all of the microtransactional elements of the mobile version. the team is constantly working on this game & new features and gamemodes are being added pretty frequently. it leaves a little to be desired in the realm of actual riding simulation (multiplayer is typically just full of bots) but it's still very fun! recommend for people looking for a casual horse breeding/racing sim with some fun riding elements.
i had this on my old laptop and had it for 3 years and this game is so fun to play in my free time and has great models and i love the breeding feature and how they are adding more ways to play such as flat racing, cross country, steeplechase, and more i love how we can create custom horses to match our dreams and how we can train up stats
Never have I ever been very interested into horse racing games- until I found Rival Racing. This game is very fun, I can start playing and then realize 2 hours have passed. Not only is it racing (which is the most fun and also frustrating part of the game) but also breeding and training your horses. The racing gets me revved and also frustrated- I find myself yelling my horse's name at my laptop "Oh, come on!" and while that makes me sound insane, trust me, if you're a horse racing fan, you'll be doing the same.
this is an awsome game totally worth the cost they have really fun races and you can train and raise your foals and horses 5/5 stars would recomend

Great horse game to play while watching stuff. It gets very grindy at times so if you don't have something it might get a little tedious and boring, but the outcome of the money is always worth it.
The breeding system is insanely good, only wish it would show further back in the heritage but i understand why it doesnt. Animations are great and textures are nice. The game is always comin out with an update that adds more and more fun features to the game

It's fun and entertaining and breeding for rare markings and/or stats is a fun little challenge.

Personally, this is probably the number one horse game on the market for many reasons. Great graphics, for one. Constant updates, which was a huge surprise to me since I thought the game felt finished as is before those updates added things I didn't know I wanted/needed. The constant addition of new breeds and coat patterns makes me want to keep playing. The UI is easy to understand, and while I don't personally pay attention to the "story" i'm sure it's cohesive. The breeding times are short (cough - unlike a certain greedy horse game) and I really do love the fact that there is a FREE mobile version. Now, before you say: "Well if mobile is free, why don't I just play that instead of buying this game?" Well let me tell you why. The games are pretty different, with there own quirks that make them both great games. Rival Stars, in my opinion, is an incredible company that puts their hearts into every game they make.
My wish list for the Game (Mostly just customization things since I'm satisfied with the game itself:
- A horse breed with feathers. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I love my furry hoofed horsies
- A horse breed with special ears. Like the Marwari or a Mule. I love that they put in new breeds, but sometimes it's a bit hard to tell the difference between them. I need those curly ears that the Marwari have or those big goofy ears that Mules have
- For eyes to turn blue if there is a white face marking covering that eye. I don't know what it's called, but almost every horse I see that has like a white bald face, there eyes are blue too.
- Different manes and tails
its just nice to play and relax in the evening
It could potentially get a bit repetitive down the line, but I have 72 hours of play time at the time of writing and still not finished all tasks, and still enjoying the interesting colours and patterns of my horses

definitely a favourite go-to game of mine, I can't really fault anything in it. I DO wish you could care for your horses (e.g, feed them, water them, wash them, etc) but nonetheless it's a great game
As a fan of horses, I adore this game. Customization is expansive, races are fun and engaging, graphics overall are excellent. There is so much good about this game, I am obsessed!

i love it i would say much more easier too get stuff and just overall love it prob my favourite racing game and its just amazing i got it today already rank 8 many good horses and played for 11 hours recommend
