Very beautiful game, the interaction was perfect for the storytelling and I loved the ending.
makes me want to pursue my own passions!! its a bittersweet game, i mainly loved all the interactive parts of the game and the art, its so beautiful.
Short, simple, yet interesting game. The storyline is pretty comforting. The game control design is pretty artistic and symbolic (similar to Rusty Lake Whitedoor's dreams). I'd say it's good, but too short for this price.
cute, intimate, mundane and ordinary in the way that every life is mundane and ordinary. the soundtrack is amazing, and the cello and piano motifs representing kris and florence is really fitting and cute. I can see why it would probably make a better phone game, though, I think that would be an even more intimate form factor that suits the game. still, I don't regret playing it on PC
This game surprised me. At first, I thought it was a great, intense love story, but in the end, it gave us a dose of reality. I don’t get why so many people named Krish seem to be losers.
To me, real love stories are the ones that stay open-ended, where you keep waiting for that person forever, even when you know it won’t happen.
I found a lovely Hindi quote today:
"Kuch adhura sa tha jo pura hua hi nahi
koi mera bhi tha jo mera hua hi nahi."
In English, it translates to:
"Something was incomplete that never got completed,
someone was mine but never truly mine."
I just finished 'Florence'. I relate to her greatly during the early act. This has given me hope for the future. I want to live life, and that means the good and bad. The human experience with a future doing what she loved, it inspires me to embrace my creativity. Perfect timing wouldn't you say. Well yes, I have a way of such things haha.
Florence is very nice and creative game. All the elements in this game have their reason to be there, making this game feel right on point. It can be criticized for its short play through time, but the Devs do mention this on shop page, so I guess a warning was given, and I cant blame them.
That being said, I think creating such a game, and then making it this short is really sad. A "one year has passed" does not have the same weight as a short gameplay element that visualises the time passing. And this game does visualise time passing, yet it does so in a mere 5 seconds. I think a bit more courage of the devs to keeps us their world for a few moments longer could have improved this game a lot, without making it a slog or boring, or repetitive.
A very short, but very sweet and beautiful game. The visuals, music, and game play all mesh perfectly to show a stunning depiction of the main characters experiences. The subtle details in the game play really brought it all together for me, and the ending was beautiful and hopeful. I would absolutely recommend this game to anyone going through a breakup.
An interactive Story or Graphic novel
I'm assuming you read the developer blurb for this game already, and now you want to get an opinion. Hopefully from someone you trust. I enjoyed 2 things about Florence, 3 actually.
Mechanics: The game mechanics are intuitive throughout, you learn how things work as you go, and at one point you hear a "click" and on your screen is a Polaroid, so yeah, you flick it gently but firmly back and forth to speed up the developing process. And it's little smart mechanics like this that make the interactive part of the game fun. At one point you get to arrange puzzle pieces, and you can do so as slowly or as quickly as you like, no pressure. And for any game focused on emotion, not turning it into a twitch-speed-reaction game keeps Florence grounded, but you can if you want.
Pace: The story has a classic arc to it, and you wonder, OK how close to the happy ending are we? Yes, it's the classic roller coaster. That's all I'll say, because the story does have a good twist to it that the ladies will rather enjoy. It's deep and fun at the same time too, I love that even though every interaction is just a click, you are allowed to attach as little or as much agency and feeling to it as you like. Made the game rather immersive for me, the pacing did.
Peaceful: The game is relaxing, I played in 2 sittings, but you could easily stop and resume at any point. I recommend playing with some of the interactions to read the meaning and notice the artwork. My hope was that the game would relax me and it sure did.
Brilliant storytelling. Florence has a hole in her life, will the love she has for others win out. I loved how she is a blank canvass almost as a person. I wonder how much of my own fears, hopes and dreams I coloured her character with? I'll have to play through a second time.

Bittersweet little game. Took me about 40 minutes to get through. Not too much to do, more of an interactive story than a game, but i'd recommend it.
Florence is a heartfelt and beautifully crafted interactive story about love, growth, and self-discovery. Its minimalist art style and clever use of interactive mechanics perfectly convey emotions without needing many words. The game’s short but impactful story takes you through the ups and downs of a relationship, making it deeply relatable. The music complements the experience wonderfully, enhancing its emotional depth. This game is a must-play for fans of narrative-driven games who appreciate artful storytelling in a compact format.
a beautiful SHORT visual novel about adulting (I think many people can relate to the story). The art, color, and music are so pleasing. The interactive part esp gave the ml pov's better without much explanation.
Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience! Tho, I wish the story to be longer haha
A quick 1 hour, slide-of-life game that brings its beauty in the simplicity of the most human experience of falling in love with the right person. Spoiler, fall in love with yourself before anyone else. Worth the buy
It's a short game packed with emotions with nicely designed interaction to progress storytelling. Pretty short as I achieved 100% with about 0.5 hours. But definitely worth playing!
It's a nice short game about adulthood, relationships, childhood passions. Unlocked all achievements in just above an hour and I'm not even rushing through. I do wish the story was fleshed out a bit more; whatever happened to the guy?
Beautiful game with great visuals and lessons. A brief play that is worth every second.
The story, the build up , the art , the music is so beautiful. It takes us on a emotional roller coaster ride, while the story sides so much with reality, the characters are bought to life. Dreams , aspirations , letting go. Took me 1 hour to finish the storyline along with the achievements, i would really recommend you to try this indie classic, believe me u haven't played something like this before. Kudos and respect to the devs .
Florence took me by surprise. Really loved this, traditionally I do not like puzzles in my video games but this is an exception. Beautiful, heartwarming, powerful, and relatable. A short and worthy gaming experience. I love you, Florence. You're a queen!
An important entry into the canon of games that push the medium of games as an art form. It only asks for a short play time and in that space leaves a beautiful, resonant, and lasting impression.
Florence is a short, interactive comic-like game about a bored young woman named Florence who fell in love with a cello player she randomly met while walking. They went on a few dates and start a relationship, but those are never really smooth aren't they? There will be ups and downs, as well as possible breakups and recovering from it. I also love the colorful, beautiful artstyle, which changes depends on what the characters are feeling.
The gameplay is very simple, most of the times you just move and click things across the screen, or making the characters walk. It's not a very long game, can be beaten in under an hour, but I'd be lying if it wasn't emotional. It has beautiful music, which hits especially hard during some of the more bittersweet scenes. If you like casual, emotional games, you should give Florence a try.
Yes and no, but mostly yes. It's a pretty simple and relatable story with pretty visuals and nice soundtrack. Why no? It's a really simple story. While I like it's core message, it comes across slightly as shallow, especially since I knew where it was going from the beginning. With the price dropping siginificantly down, it is a more of an affordable experience (especially since it's a half an hour experience, less than a single episode of House MD). If you're bored and you need a slightly meaningful distraction, this is for you.
The music and art in this short, story-driven game are truly beautiful. It has a unique approach to storytelling which seamlessly integrates subtle, and in my opinion creative puzzle elements that enhance the narrative in a beautiful way.
(Spoilers below)
I’ve seen criticism from some players who were disappointed that the couple breaks up after a fight rather than working through their issues. While it’s true that perseverance is important, not every couple is meant to overcome their differences. What makes this story so bittersweet is that, through her relationship with Krish, Florence rediscovers her passion for art and continues to nurture it even after they separate. She learns to appreciate the memories they shared and ultimately understands that their time together, though short-lived, helped her grow into the person she was always meant to be.
That said, I also disliked that the "reason" for their break-up or what ignited it in the first place was the couple’s initial conflict arising from their repetitive daily life, and not necessarily that they were incompatible about it, as much as I can tell. While seeking spontaneity or change everyday can be fulfilling, the reality is that most adults rely on routines to keep life manageable. The honeymoon phase inevitably fades, but I believe love can endure despite the ordinary patterns of everyday existence :)
Overall, the game offers a wonderfully atmospheric and memorable experience, one that I found both enjoyable and emotionally resonant :)
Florence is a casual game about a love story and mourning. The drawing designs are simply but very good and the ambiant is peaceful. For his low price, I highly recommend it!!! 💛
6.5/10
Too short for a game that costs £5. The story is decent but the game isn't really for me. However i can see why people enjoy it
For the price of a Butterfinger, this was better than a Butterfinger. With an adorable artstyle that reminds me of Tintin (and maybe Adventure Time), the game tells a meaningful story about loss, acceptance and growth. 7/10
Ni que decir.
Una Novela Visual bastante corta pero con el tiempo suficiente para contarte la historia y sentir algo por esta.
Mi corazoncito sintió muchas cosas con esta obra, pruebenlo.
A short but sweet and emotional game that made me cry even without dialogue. I'm going through a breakup and this is the kind of game that I needed right now. I appreciate the amount of creative thought that went into telling this story well with no dialogue, and engaging players in the game play mechanics with no instructions. It is certainly interesting and I've never played a game quite like this before. I would categorize this game as sort of an interactive visual novel, but notably more interactive (and in different ways) than other visual novels I've played. It's very unique and creative. It's also very short-- I finished in less than an hour. I enjoyed the heartfelt story and great music in this game. I would love to see what else these developers make in the future.
The art-style is so pleasing and the way the story is portrayed is so unique. I like it very much.
I had originally bought this game on my nintendo switch. It's such a fun little game with the controls of the switch, so I was curious how they would do it on pc as well. They did a great job. This is a great game about moving on from heartache and finding your true passions. It's a pretty short game, so that's why it's this cheap. It is so so calming though. This is for sure a cozy game as the folks say.
A very good narrative story, very short but impressive, hand sketch style and interaction is really good!
Life is alone, you can not hope somebody accompany you forever.
Enjoy this moment, and allow everything to happen.
Really quick play that's completely worth your time and your few dollars. I find myself really enjoying these sorts of interactive story games, where the puzzles aren't just there to be hard puzzles, but are so intentionally created to elevate the storytelling. Without spoiling anything, it's like you figure out the puzzle quickly, think about it in the context of moment of the story, and then just get hit with a wave of emotions lol - I teared up several times. The art is absolutely beautiful and charming, and there are so many ways in which the elements like color (or the lack thereof) or shapes further communicate the emotion of a moment. I found myself getting chills at several points, thinking how cleverly a situation was portrayed.
TL;DR beautiful music, beautiful story, super smooth and enjoyable to play, clever puzzles and very intentional art that elevate the storytelling. Also works great on steam deck!
This is a really nice little story. Beautiful artstyle, jaw dropping music, and its engaging.
I enjoyed the story, I genuinely got emotionally invested in it! (even with the total of 0 lines of dialog in the game!)
100% recommend it.
Very simple game, yet striking in terms of its art style and emotional storytelling. This game offers a deeply immersive experience that explores love, heartbreak, and personal growth. The interactive elements are subtle but effective, and the game is very short (< 1 hour).
Short game with a beautiful narrative that perfectly describes relationships and human condition. It generates many mixed feelings.
Totally recommended.
a short, beautiful and a very deep story game. costs a little but its worth it.
A cute artistic game that follows a short story about the life of a girl named Florence Yeoh. Fairly simple puzzles to figure out, loved the creative elements included in each chapter. Great story game and well designed stylistic choices. Definitely worth it when it's on sale.
A brilliant small visual novel game with an amazing sound track
A very cute interactive comic with a touching and relatable story. The gameplay is simple, and earning achievements is easy. A heartfelt experience worth trying!
Amazing story, surprisingly fun, simply loved from beginning to end, and I'm not the kind of "story games" gamer. The soundtrack is something else. Later on, I saw in the credits that the Sound Composition was made by Kevin Penkin, and trust me, THIS IS a quality seal.
Super Recommend.
i like how when she left the man she became successful. proper powerful message that x
I always come back to play this game. The colours, shapes, lines, music... EVERYTHING! It all plays a part in the narrative. It's just beautiful. I always recommend this game to others💙
florence is a beautiful game, it actually made me tear up, the art style is so cute!
although a short game and i wish it could've been longer i still enjoyed my play-through, i hope to play more games like this in the future
Girl meets boy (can I make it any more obvious?) in artistic slice-of-live visual novel
The game's strength is in the execution, especially the clever way how the protagonist's interactions are translated to gameplay (won't spoiler) and the beautiful art and music. The story is ordinary and a bit cliche. Still a nice bite-sized VN experience.
A short beautiful game about life. The developers found a way to transmit so many emotions through the game play, art and music. Absolutely loved it.
The game is pretty short, but the story is very sweet and emotional.
Highly recommend
There's not much of a game here. It's all about the experience. A Story told with-out words.
Why were they arguing over groceries bruh
the art and music is nice. and i like that you can feel the story's progression through what little gameplay is there, it's a kind of story that benefits (or rather, only works with)from being interactive.
there are a few flaws however.
the story itself is pretty shallow. we don't see the reason why the characters did what they did. for example we don't see why they couldn't try to make up after arguing . they gave us the "effect" but not much on the cause. another problem for me is that the story feels a bit "idealistic" like naive or something. nothing wrong with that per se, but with the ending being a very good one for the protagonist, you'd think we would see a lot more of the process than just a timelapse.
Finished first playthrough in half an hour, and i loved it. At first, I thought it's going to be yet another cliche chick flick kind of game. But after playing, I wouldn't say it's a story about heartbreak, but rather about memory and growth.
The most interesting part of this game to me is you need to puzzle out what you are going to say in a conversation. In the beginning, you struggle to response as the puzzles are more difficult. Gradually, the puzzle is just three pieces that you can easily put together, and then there's only one. Just like any other relationship, you keep talking and talking, and eventually you just get each other's "language". It might only took an emoji to steal one's heart, making them wonder the whole day. However, conflicts happen. People fights, so does people in love. At that time, I was trying to "win" the argument. But it turns out, we were both already losing. There is no point of winning, no matter how loud you were, no matter how fast you can structure your sentence, no matter who is correct even. Everything was taken over by anger and frustration. I know it, everyone else knows it. Yet, we are still animals controlled by emotions sometimes. What's been said and done can not be reversed, so the only mature thing to do is to own it, admit your mistakes, work your relationship or respect their decision and move on. Lessons can be learned in a hard way, but it is definitely worth the pain.
Travel through the memory lane, here we are now. It's time to break through the soil and grow yourself like a plant. Know yourself, love yourself, and finally, know how to love others in the right way.
This game was short and sweet, I loved playing through it and getting the achievements.
This is a playing through a narrative with beautiful visuals and art!
Made me go on an emotional roller coaster 10/10
