In Dragon Castle: The Board Game, you will pick tiles from the central castle to create sets of tiles of the same kind in your own realm and score points. You will also build Shrines, trigger powerful Spirit abilities, and appease the tastes of the Dragons to score bonus points! May the best builder win!
How to Play
During your turn, you can take a pair of identical tiles from the central "castle" and place them on your own realm board to build your own castle. Alternatively, you may sacrifice these tiles to acquire shrines or extra points.Every time you create a set of tiles of the same kind, you flip them face down to score points and build shrines on top for even more points, if at the cost of limiting your building options! You may also take advantage of the spirits and their game-changing powers to manipulate the board... Finally, don't forget to check the active Dragon, and to follow the building requirements to score bonus points.

Own both the physical board game and this digital version. It is a faithful translation, and it plays really well. The UI and the gameplay feels very tightly close to the physical game. Greatly recommended.
Easily in my top 5 board games, Fantastic port of the game to PC. Can't recommend it enough.
I own the board game, this is a good adaptation of it. Fun way to enjoy some relaxing Mahjong when you don't have an opponent around for the physical game.
I like the art, haven't noticed any gameplay bugs, and the A.I. seems decent.
In terms of gameplay Dragon Castle feels pretty average when compared to Azul, Sagrada, Patchwork, and other popular abstract board games. There is not enough strategic depth that makes me want to keep playing.
Dragon Castle is not for me, but there might be enough strategy for you. And I think the digital implementation is well done.
I am a great fan of Mahjong games.
Dragon Castle is a brilliant mahjong style game. I enjoyed the single player so much I am going to order the physical board game. I have not tried multiplayer.
This game is very relaxing and challenging, nice graphics, restful music.
Highly recommended.
More people should know and play this game.
A beautifully crafted virtual board game that's easy to get addicted to! I love the art style and themes of the art and music. Planning to buy a physical copy of the actual board game soon as well!
Fantastic digital version of the game. The only thing that would be improved is the point reference card so you can remember how much each set it worth.
Very relaxing, great graphics, and tactical gameplay that can be as straightforward or as brain-burning as you'd like it to be, depending on the rule modifiers you pick before starting a game. There's plenty of choices to make each turn depending on which way you want to gain points, so it doesn't quite feel 'solved' - unless, perhaps, you're playing with the optional Spirits and Dragons disabled. In that way it has a feel quite similar to Railroad Ink and Potion Explosion, both also made by Hjalmar Hach and Lorenzo Silva - you can play the game in a stripped-down mode for either less thinking or more even-handed competition (depending on how you look at it), or embellish it with extra powers to make it more thinky.
It's one of those perfect board games, simple to pick up but with loads of depth and interesting decisions. Every game plays differently and provides its own unique challenge based on the board set up, dragons and spirits.
The digital version is excellent. The animations are just beautiful - just wait till you summon your first spirit. The music is zen-like and goes well with the game. The tutorials are decent.
Aesthetically pleasing, coincidental Mahjong solitaire with the added twist of building within limits, this game loses a bit without the kinetic tile movement but nothing is lost in terms of the tactics, art and concept of the board game. If you prefer a low conflict, Asian inspired game this is a winner.
I like that the developer is continuing to make improvements via updates. I hope this continues. As is, it's very playable, and a good substitute for the board game. It's a fast, easy play, but still challenging. I haven't played against the AI, just vs another player. Overall, worth getting if you're either curious about the game, or already have the game but want to play it against someone remotely. (I should note I've played only locally PvP, so I can't comment on the online PvP.)
Fun game - very relaxing. Nobody dies either
Beautiful implementation of a good abstract board game. My only cons with this version is that there's no undue button or quick reference sheet to the scoring or rules (not sure if the physical board game had a player aid).
I would also love to see all the suggested layouts that were in the physical rule book translated into the digital version with the same breakdown based on the suggested player count.
Thanks for making this!!
Good implementation of great board game. It is great to not have to fumble with stacking and flipping tiles.
A very good adaptation of a board game. You pick tiles (in a way similar to mahjong solitaire) and place them on your own board to form sets of the same color (there are other elements, but I will not detail the rules here). The presentation is nice with a practical interface. The game has a good variability with different layouts and advanced features that can be mixed in different ways (new objectives and actions). The solo mode, against AI, is a good way to learn the game. The hard AI is correct, but not as good as an experimented human player and could be improved. The game works very well for local multiplayer (no hidden information) or for online multiplayer. The matches are not very long and the atmosphere is relaxing, so an excellent quiet strategy game to play for twenty minutes or for multiple matches.
