Beautiful game that is simple to learn and complex to master. Great way to exercise competitiveness without colonizing the land.

Great adaptation of the board game! The custom backgrounds available for each player as well as the default tabletop tableau setup are well designed.

Love this game, we have the board game and all expansions, and play a lot. Playing online works well but can be frustrating if players quit the game at the end. If that happens I wish the remaining players could continue. It would be cool to have 4-5 player online too.

The game has become functionally broken for me since the last update. All my birds even those that don’t require eggs still have the egg part of the screen show up and I can’t change what resources I want to spend on my birds. The game is broken now for me.

This game is beautiful! Relaxing, a lot of fun to sit and play, especially if you're already familiar with the board game. My only wish is that winning games got you achievements or something to work toward, but otherwise, absolutely love it.

Nice implementation of the table-top version. The hardest AI is not that bad. It's not Baldur's Gate, but it plays in about an hour and is surprisingly addictive.

Great ambience, decent implementation of the board game. The custom game multiplayer setup screen needs some work, as I can't se when invited friends join my game until after the game has started. Would be awesome to be able to add an additional local player while playing custom multiplayer games as well.
Would also recommend adding in more options for custom games. 5 minute turn timer is the only option, would be nice to be able to turn that down to encourage quicker play with friends.

birbs + birbs wif freinds too sometimes is very fun. You can even play with people you don't know or against 'puters. It's pretty epic. Tweet tweet. 10/10.

The digital game stays true to how the actual board game plays like, with plenty of quality of life to the player, such as telling you which powers can be activated, and keeping track of points earned per round. The background music is also pretty soothing to listen to as you play. The only downside is not being able to flip the table should you lose

In terms of AI, they do actually play decently well in the harder difficulty, so playing by yourself is an option. Online gameplay is also quite smooth against other players too.

All in all, if you love the physical board game, you would definitely love it in this digital form.

Fun to play with friends, very casual card game. The color pencil drawing really shows the fascination of games being the “ninth art”. Love it.

I'm a huge fan of the original board game version(and expansions) and this is amazing. I love always having a game going with 72 hours to take our turns. Plus being able to play people with 5 minute turns. Very great digital adaption and all around a great engine building card game!!

An essentially perfect adaptation of the board game that even manages to improve on it by adding artwork animations and bird call recordings.

Yes the game is good, the birds, the feel of the game, the music, the vibes. If you like boardgames gone digital, and you like birds, and engine building games....it's a yes.

Wingspan is a fun and simple game with a calming soundtrack. This is a game easy to play with a group because you can set it so you aren't against everyone else and instead working towards your own round goal

This game is a fantastic digital version of the board game. Saves a lot of time compared to the table top version, single player saves time by eliminating analysis paralysis of other players. It's visually appealing, has a calming soundtrack, and a fast way to try out new strategies and cards. I wish I would have bought it sooner as it has become my go to relaxation game.

Wingspan is a beautifully illustrated game with a calming soundtrack. You can play it as a casual collecting game and let its sights and sounds wash over you, or you can get as strategic as you like, stockpiling resources to make your bird habitats unbelievably productive. I really enjoy playing it on the computer even though I own the physical game—getting to play against the computer makes this game a great purchase to play solo or online with friends!

This game was an extreme surprise. I bought it because of the sale price, but suddenly I have played it every night.
It's kind of a like a Settlers of Catan with birds, though much less reliant on dice rolls. The objective is fairly simple, get the most points at the end. How you go about doing that depends on what birds to can get access to, and the resources you can acquire from them. There are so many birds, but they all have fairly simple to understand powers. The game will feel super intimidating at first, but it's fairly straightforward. You only get one Action each turn, and you're trying to pick the most efficient one.
Everything is beautifully animated, and the UI is TIGHT. So many digital boardgames waste your time with prompts and useless menus, but this one does its best to make your turns quick and snappy.
The AI is also very good, the games are usually very close and I feel like I need to claw for every advantage.
Overall, the sale price is an absolute STEAL (I bought both expansions too, and 4 copies), but if you're on the fence later I highly suggest you try this. I'm sorry I didn't write this review earlier, and I hate everything, so this should hopefully spur you into action.

This game is wonderful. The mechanics, the animated bird cards, the sounds, its all great. Any bird lover will love this game.

Its fun to play against others online when they're not quitting out on games.

Theres a lousy 'karma' system with matchmaking that's very annoying. New players can expect to start out facing players who are more likely to quit during the game. If one of the three players quits the game ends and you earn no karma point so you're still stuck with lousy matching until you get through it.

Great way to play a great boardgame just by yourself or online with others. The inventor of the boardgame has other great games to offer, if you're into that. I enjoy the gameplay a lot and it runs smoothly, give it a try!

A fun combination of ornithology, birding and tabletop gaming. I love the way bird behaviors were translated into strategic elements for gameplay with the accurate bird calls. My only tiny complaint is that the bird animations are more stretching the icons than true animation.

At first, I thought this game would be a waste of money, especially with Wingspan supporting singleplayer, as I already have Tabletop Simulator. However, Youtube tutorials did nothing to teach me how to play.

I decided to grab this while it was on sale and was impressed. The tutorial taught me how to play where Youtube failed (even though it felt kind of like an ad for the DLC in places). The animations and backgrounds are beautiful, and this is the first game I've played aside from Chess offering asynchronous multiplayer.

That said, if you already have a premium membership on Boardgame Arena, you can play a digital version of Wingspan there. For everyone else, buying this game is worth it, even if you own Tabletop Simulator.

Excellent version of the boardgame, also online matchmaking is with all the expansions by default so you don't even have to buy those if you're okay playing with randos. Very easy to find games too, never had any issue getting a full game.

This game is a lot of fun! I have the physical copy and was glad to discover there was a PC version of the game that runs smoothly. I enjoy playing it solo + 4 computers, plus the automa is good for a challenge. It's a good strategy game. Beautiful art as well.

Although I'm not particularly into birds, this game is incredibly relaxing and crafted with great attention to detail. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys card games.

An incredibly addicting game. Great strategy game. Knew about the board game first and bought it but was unable to figure it out-- the Steam version makes it very easy to keep track of all of the different parts! Highly reccomend. Expansions are great and challenging too.

I started the tutorial and finished the tutorial game. Did the tutorial to the end of the tutorial the next day and now it's easy to remember. Learning curve isn't too bad. Fun game with a lot of variables.

Do you want to learn the bird species name? There's no better way than this dazzling game, offering a great gamification experience.

Great game play design, beautiful artwork, and the chance to learn more about birds make Wingspan a fantastic game for solo or group play. The digital game feels like you are playing the boardgame (and that's a compliment.) One of the things I like most about Wingspan is that while you are competing, it's hard to be cutthroat about it; strategically, you can work to improve your own position, but you can rarely do much to directly harm your opponents' positions. This makes for much more collegial play, making it a great game for families or for people who dislike cutthroat competition.

True to the board game. Few bells and whistles, but plenty of quality of life improvements. Just as good as playing the game, but no need to do all that pesky calculation.

I love playing this game! I have played it many, many times and not once is it ever the same game there are always different challenges. Waiting patiently for new bird cards to be released!!

A beautifully illustrated digital version of a board game I fell in love with instantly. I'm a big fan of engine builders and this is the game that taught me how much I like that style of game. I've been playing online with my friends a lot!

This game is great!! I have both expansion packs too, so when playing a custom game with friends, we all get to play with them. The game is lovely to look at; informative about the birds, and different every time we play. It was a bit tricky figuring out how to navigate through the controls and understand what all the symbols meant. Playing with the Automaton still is a bit confusing to me. I would prefer the game visually played the same with the automatons that it does with the AI/people.

All in all, this is a wonderful game to play. It is smartly designed and thought out. Oh, and I also have the physical board game too. :) Both are worth the cost.

GOOD FUN GAME. Only sucks that you cant chat online and the matchmaking is absolutely dogshit. Still the game mechanics itself are fun. I have the actualy boardgame too way better experience. I really hate that they intrigated the online element like a pile of dogshit but hey whatever its wingspan fun game.

Wingspan is a wonderful game! It has a lot of moving parts, so there is a bit of a steep learning curve, but it's completely worth it once you get used to the mechanics of the game. Each bird card is well-designed, with various details and a colored image of each bird. It's equally fun to play with the max players as it is with only one other person. I look forward to getting each of the other expansions and having new features and birds to play with.

If you like board games, this belongs in your game collection, digital or not. They were able to not just give you the board game experienced, but adding life to the play experience that only a computer can bring. Also, a perfect game for remote play together.
