Imagine you are putting a jigsaw puzzle together, peacefully setting up the outer pieces, when you pick up a seemingly random piece. Suddenly 3 alarms set off and you have 5 seconds to find the exact placement, regardless if you have the context for that piece or not. What is supposed to be a great mystery suddenly turns into reloading over and over again because you chose the wrong answer. It turns into a game of memorization rather than clue gathering. Even when I have written down notes, I don't have time to look through them because the timings are so harsh.
I get the feeling this feature was implemented so that you would be forced to do multiple playthroughs in order to get the correct ending. Forget that nonsense. I wanted to play the spooky mystery game, not be super rushed and stressed as if I am back at retail.
Pleasant horror puzzle game. Although I preferred the first game's characters, I do like this game's take and commentary on social media.
A fun little detective game. Decent acting and all around well designed gameplay. Definitely recommend.
bro fix ur game, I entered the game and selected a character. After the intro finished, I arrived at the phone interface. Then, I tried pressing the button for the message someone sent, and it took me back to the character selection screen.
Downgrade from the original and the acting was below passing. However, I liked the new UI for the phone and the puzzles were neat to solve. Overall, another solid game, but the first one is so much better.
i mean it's alright
always impressed by the simulacra games :)

I can't run this on Linux Mint. Crashes after I get choose either reporter or junior detective role. Played through on android and windows 10 without issue. Wonderful game, but yeah. Shames it won't work on my primary PC.
Fun game :) lots of replay value. Hoping to figure out all the question marks on my board soon
My negative review isn't intended to say this game isn't worth playing. My issue is in comparing it to the previous title, which I thought was a genuinely solid mystery game that was simple and straightforward, yet had some complex elements to it.
The sequel, unfortunately, is a comedy of sorts. The people who are in the game--all really bad actors--are inherently unlikeable and have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It's hard to create a story where everyone in it is awful. In a way, the developers must have known that because they constantly make fun of the characters and make it play out largely like a sitcom.
Without spoilers, the general plot is that a detective hands you a phone and asks you to try to help him solve a murder. The problem is that the detective is not only a bad actor, his character is some kind of clownish comic relief. You actually feel a bit silly playing the game because it's all on that border of being camp/cheese where you're not meant to take any of it seriously. This is a drastic change from the original game where there's a sense of agency to help.
Not recommended.
meh
SIMULACRA 2 is a puzzle game where you have to find what happened to a dead girl thru her phone. Check her messaging, emails, social media, videos, pictures, etc and talk to her friends to find the truth... It's kinda like a A normal lost phone game but more complex and with more suspens... the story is great and there's multiples endings. The sound effects and the graphics are nice, I highly recommend it!!! 💗💗💗
incredible game, good storyline, gave me goosebumps! i love this series :)
Such a superb game.
Very GOOD game, story very good, gameplay good, but some laggy when I play game ( I setting graphic in lowest )
"Simulacra 2" is much better than its predecessor with a far more engaging and (slightly) more complex story. You explore more characters via social media, emails, chat messages, videos, and phone calls (which you can't respond to but it's not a big deal). The endings for the game aren't very complicated, but the fun lies in HOW you approach suspects with the information you find about them. Based on how you speak to them, and how you address their lies and secrets, you can coax them out of their egos and get them to be cooperative. Or you can anger them and make them turn on each other until someone breaks.
Finding the culprit isn't as easy as it may seem. At first, I thought I'd nail it after all the stuff I was finding about the suspects, but then you end up wondering what exactly is the truth. Is it one culprit? Multiple? Maybe there is no culprit? Maybe the victim is the culprit? It's fun trying to figure out the truth, and I got it very wrong on my first playthrough. Again, it all depends on how much information you discover, and how you choose to present it to the suspects.
You also have a bonus feature not present in the first game with an app called WARDEN, which lets you look up transcripts, case files, accidents, and blueprints. Granted, there isn't a whole lot to discover, but it still adds to the experience. I also like how you play as a detective or a journalist, and not just a random person who randomly got the victim's phone on their doorstep. At least now, it makes more sense and is more believable.
The acting is kind of cheesy and at times bad, but I think there's a certain charm to it. The game is serious to a point but seems to rely on melodrama to lighten the mood. Yes, it's a murder investigation, but you're dealing with a bunch of social media "celebrities." They have massive egos but fluff for brains because, honestly, being a social media star isn't anything special, imo. But again, this sort of ridiculousness adds some amusement to the game.
The game has decent replay value, especially if you want to unlock all achievements. You probably have to play it at least twice, and return to previous saves in order to get all achievements. Plus, you can use replays to experiment with different dialogue options with characters.
I do have to wonder why the game has you play as a detective or journalist because there is barely any difference in how the game plays. Some dialogue choices and cutscenes are different, but they have no real impact on the story and events. If there had been some unique experiences for each character type, then it would have made the game even better and even more replayable.
Still, "Simulacra 2" is a fun horror-mystery game that features a more in-depth story and more interactions than "Simulacra" had. If you enjoyed the first game, you'll most likely love this one. If you didn't like the first game, give this one a try because I think it's got much more to offer you.
Interesting premise, great gameplay, colorful cast. What else could I ask for ?
(I recommend this if you are into murder investigation games like Danganronpa!!) :3
eh this was not as good as the first one. story was kind of meh. i would've loved to see the story continue somehow from the first. there were little hints of the first but still meh
Probably the best installment in the series.
The first game was good, but the second one was better.
I'll be brutally honest. The scares fucking suck in this one. Glitching noises and effects are not scary.
Visually and Story-wise: This game is good.
But in terms of horror and jumpscares? Terrible. The first game was so much better with that.
This one was immersive and enjoyable :) I love doom scrolling on fictional social media.
The best entry in this franchise. The music is so good and I think the game play shines the most in this entry. If you are going to play only one of these, this is the one to play.
