This is undoubtedly the best baseball game on the market as of right now which is a sad reality. Both pitching and batting mechanics are simple and easy to understand but are challenging enough at higher difficulties to make the game exciting. It combines mechanics of more 'realistic' baseball games like The Show with a light hearted, comedic feel that is authentically, Super Mega. I was disappointed that this series' 4th iteration was such a let down but this game still holds firm. The pricetag is far too steep for what it is but there is a LOT of depth in this game if you use all of it. However, a lot of that depth is locked away due to the fact that only 10 odd people play it nowadays.
Buy it on sale and enjoy!
This is a great game to mute the soundtrack, play some of your favorite tunes, sit back and hit some balls. It is a very relaxing game. I don't play it on very high difficulty at all, but I enjoy raising the EGO level slowly, and getting better and better at the game. The art style and the names of the players makes the game humorous, but the gameplay seems quite serious and refined. Not sure how it stacks up against other baseball games, this is the only one I have played, but it seems really well-balanced between a simulation type game and a fun, arcadey experience.
Honestly between this and the newer one (number 4, which is nearly identical except for a handful of added retired real life players you can make a team of) this is about the best baseball game/baseball sim you're going to find on PC. I went in not expecting anything. Something to try and kill about 2 hours of time. but I find myself constantly going back to it for a baseball fix. No it doesn't have the ultra realistic graphics/visuals of the ps5 game the show. But the gameplay is on point and I absolutely recommend giving this a try.
I have played many, many baseball games in my lifetime. This is the best one that I have ever played.
This game feels like a real game. The timing, the decision making, the choices; it is very similar to a real, actual, game of baseball.
I have an absolute blast except when I'm losing that feels bad.

Has a Backyard Baseball feel to it, but can be challenging and more dynamic which is great for more experienced players. This game is tremendous and better than any modern MLB The Show editions.
