the story is great, well known VA, but the cliched lines and scenes are ruined this game still 8/10. wished they put the extended one

Actually completed the game back on ps4 3 years ago;after my console died last year and didnt want to buy another one ofc,i rebought the game for the memories. It's not like one of the best VN that you will ever find,but personally for me it was a fun and emotional story. Nothing bad to give it a try,especially on winter/summer sales :)

hey this game is really good, also the ost is amazing, wish it was on spotify, a lot of the scenarios are actually surprisingly well written, and the art is the best(although im biased bcuz eiri shirai is the artist for the grimgar light novel)

I tried to get into this game, but the characters just turned me off so much I can't finish. As it is I was subjected to non-stop talk about breasts and how big they were and comparisons of breasts of the females to the point I was starting to wonder if this game was written by a 13 year old.

Seriously, the last time I remember hearing guys talk that much about breasts was we were all 13 and had just hit puberty. Or were totally drunk.

As it is the writing is so juvenile I just cannot continue. And as such I cannot recommend this game, unless you really want to read a story that feels like it was written by someone who has just hit puberty.

A fun visual novel with a very colorful cast and pretty visual style with a decent soundtrack.

The character interactions with each other were the highlight in this novel. I could sit for hours listening to them banter with each other and it did feel like the characters were what kept me coming back for more. In terms of routes though, there's not much change in the story to be seen inbetween the different character routes. You only have the different epilogues to go with, with a special ending that i rather enjoyed.

The story does not take itself too seriously, but it does have its moments so it does hit the right notes when it goes for it. I thought it akin to a comedy anime with an underlying serious plot and it does manage to balance between the two sides pretty well. I ultimately enjoyed the slice-of-life sections of the plot more than the overarching "serious" story. It does wrap up nicely at the end, but it felt like most of the runtime of the game was comedic rather than serious.

Overall, i enjoyed this novel far more than i expected, and was pretty bummed when it all ended. It's not a lengthy novel by any chance, but it doesn't have too much going on so nothing felt forced into the short runtime.

A visual novel that nails the visual part, but fails miserably in the novel part.

The artstyle is stunningly good. Well drawn characters, lots of detailed CGs, a good variety of backgrounds and while the interface has some clutter, it looks cool.

Gameplay it's like any other visual novel. Press a button to continue, and sometimes, some choice selection that affects the plot.

And that's the end of the positives.

Soundtrack it's forgettable. Inmediately after completing the game, it will magically disappear from your memory.

Story is a weird one. It doesn't play like in other visual novels.
It seems that if you actually read all the text, you will quickly die for physical boredom.
But if you rapidly tap the "next" button (or even better, use the skip function), it won't make the story less boring, but will end the torture sooner.
After thirteen insufferable chapters of a plot that didn't go anywhere, neither in comedy, originality or interest, I decided to skip the last chapters. Best decision I made in the entire playthrough. Hours of boredom and existential crisis reduced to single minutes.

I could tell you more details about why I would recommend skipping what would be the biggest (if not the only) reason to buy this game.
But honestly, between the annoyingly cringe characters and a disgruntled plot that gets choked by jokes as insipid as cliché, i don't think this game review deserves more effort from me that I already gave it.

Not recommended. Sure there are better visual novels out there.
If you have bought the game, refund it. If you can't, hide it from the library and forget it exists.
Achievements are simple if you skip the story, which it's something I encourage to do.
It runs great on the Steam Deck, but it takes a few minutes to load the game... for some reason.

Don't let the game trick you into believing it is all sunshine, rainbows, and pervy jokes.

Play as Reiji Misaki, a college guy conned into working for a hellish video game company who can only make terrible games called “Judgment 7”; and you somehow end up really liking it and the other 6 employees despite the unethical hours and absolutely abysmal pay. Everyone who works here has their own sin, ranging from Perverted, Delusional, Chaotic, Childish, Airhead, and Plain; and together, this group of misfits has delved into VR to make a brand new, trashy 18+ game with their brand new W.O.R.L.D engine that- hang on, that’s not right; this new program traps the user into a fictional world, and randomly summons characters, creatures, and evil organizations from the previous games created that are at risk of being brought into reality! Save Japan before it is overwritten and destroyed while you try to escape from this fabricated world!

25-40 hours, 7 routes and 8 endings, a fully voiced VN with multiple options, I have a love-hate relationship with Our World is Ended; on one hand, the art is gorgeous, the world building is incredible, and I already mentioned but- this 40 hour game is fully voice acted and frequently goes on sale for $3.99? What? I’ve only seen two spelling errors and quite frankly, that’s pretty incredible. On the other hand, you will statistically hate all the characters until they grow on you and learn more about them. They are flawed, terrible people who become more human but at the beginning it’s really irritating communicating with everyone.
All the routes are similar except for the endings, but “skipping through all read text” of a 40-hr VN isn’t easy. There really, really needs to be a “skip to next choice” button otherwise seeing all the routes and getting 100% is absolutely exhausting. I wouldn’t recommend Our World is Ended at full price but at $3.99? Absolutely.

On a macro level, this VN is a mess. The plot technically exists, but feels like it was written chapter-by-chapter without any actual plans for the future - events flow into other events usually with at least some thread of logic, but the pacing is all over the place and it rarely feels like it's actually building to anything in particular (there were, like, three points where I thought it was over and then more plot suddenly appeared).

However, on a micro - moment-to-moment - level, this VN is fantastic. The art is good, the interface is stylish, the music is fine (if not the most memorable), and the jokes work pretty reliably. I don't remember the last time I laughed this much during a visual novel. I enjoyed pretty much my entire time reading this, even if now that I've finished it I think I'd have a hard time describing what it was actually about in any concrete terms. If you think you'd be OK with that, buy this as soon as it goes on sale.

The Good: The overall art and aesthetics are really colorful and well designed, the music is surprisingly decent and fitting for most scenes in the game, and the UI is really crisp and well-designed.

The Okay: While the plot explores some interesting ideas with virtual worlds, it still got really hand-wavey with explaining what the rules were for the science fiction involved. I also wish the game did a better job conveying what choices to make in order to get the bonus endings. While it's somewhat possible to figure it out on your own, it's a lot more preferable to just consult an external guide. Also there were a ton of typos for the English text, but it was still easy enough to parse out the intended meaning.

What Needed Improvement: The 'comedy' was extremely perverted to the point where it got fairly uncomfortable. Some of it even involved a middle-schooler that acted fairly childish. Literally half of the characters had baffling design choices, whether it was the programmer who was constantly making perverted comments that wouldn't fly today, or the chunnibyou who was constantly screaming or talking fantastical nonsense.

Conclusion: While I'd still recommend it, I'd say this is probably one of the weaker Visual Novels out there. If the genre interests you at all, pick it up when it's on sale.

Had so much fun with this, and i intend to 100% it. 4 more endings to go.
I bought this because of the very impressive cast of voice actors. This can be called the dream team.
And they did not disappoint, especially Matsuoka Tsugutsugu.
This VN is like a very good junk food. Its not steak, it won't win awards, but gives so much guilty pleasure.
Nothing very serious, its a good comedy VN, always trying to crack jokes at every turn.
A lot of cliche anime tropes, but done very well.
If there were an anime made of this, would watch.
PS : The real ending is at the end of 2nd playthrough.

In the beginning of the game I thought that plot is going to be some Sci-Fi story about unique main characters trying to fix the situation that went wrong because of their actions. I mean, I imagined this game would be a rip-off of Steins;Gate with fancy character design. And it better would be because in reality it is way worse.
The characters have issues in one way or another and I understand that they are made this way on purpose but how the fuck should readers empathize emotionally unstable pedo girl, perverted 30-year old coder or delusional, screaming, obese psycho? And it's the better half of the cast that is not too cliche because light-novel MC, goth-tsundere, clever loli and dumber version of Mayuri are not even annoying, they are just boring and their backstory doesn't bring anything to the table. I literally facepalmed when Tanichka Alexandrovna told the truth about her being adopted by Yuriy. I mean, ofc you fucking are, your patronymic is "Alexandrovna" and not "Yuryevna" ffs! Genius girl my ass.
Ok, but there is still the story itself, right? It can be something interesting, right? No, I'm sorry but it isn't. The main focus of the story is about main cast and how amazing they are in one way or another. The whole purpose of this novel is to make you feel a part of the amazing gamedev studio that ends up saving Tokyo and it doesn't include some intriguing plot twists or interesting concepts in scenario. The most touching part of the story is about this gamedev studio literally spending fucking weeks to get the feeling of unity AFTER their unity was praised million times by narration, by side characters, by themselves and almost every living and dead person featured in this game. I wonder, does this bond between them even worth mentioning at all if they spent weeks to get the feel of it?
I honestly completed this game to find anything good about it besides art, but alas, I had no luck with that. Also I must mention that translation includes lots of typos and even quotes mark is most of the time separated from the text on the next line of textbox. Those are common issues but it makes me even more frustrated.

recommending this game is quite the hard feat, but i'm attempting it regardless.
the story as a whole is pretty great, it sure does get its hooks in you. but then it uses said hooks to drag you, kicking and screaming, through the immense amount of sexual innuendo, perverted dialogue and incredibly uncomfortable moments, a good chunk of which the main character himself also takes part in, so seeing through his eyes and hearing his thought process can get genuinely nauseating. and even despite that, i'd say this story is worth experiencing. it's got its touching moments of excellent character building, and coupling that with the overall plot's good quality makes for a quite unique experience. and of course, the game's got absolutely fantastic visuals and a great soundtrack that i'm still surprised hasn't been ripped onto youtube in its entirety.
despite its flaws, i wholeheartedly- err... about-70-percent-heartedly recommend trying it out.

This is the old vista version ported to steam. There is a new version with 30% more new content in Japan, but they chose the old one for global market. I'm very disappointed to play the inferior version.

I feel really bad for this game. On the one hand people are right in that the story isn’t exactly breaking new ground, but on the other hand it’s got enough of a twist that it keeps things interesting.
The character designs are pretty charming and the art style is what initially sold me on the game. I don’t feel bad for having spent $40 on it and neither should you, but if you can get it on a sale then I’d call it a no-brainer.

So far quite the interesting visual novel. The art is gorgeous, the story has me hooked so far, and the interactions between characters are one of a kind. Didn't expect this to be that unpopular, but then again it can be quite extreme,like when a certain male character is only wearing a bra while holding in one hand a sticky dark rod and in the other a peeled banana with cream.... If you like dry humour, and lots of (perverted) jokes with unusually fun characters and a sci-fi/augmented reality theme, then it might just be everything you would have hoped for!

I only bought it because the character designs are gorgeous, but even that can't save it. I'm probably better off looking up the head artist themselves.

Insufferable characters. Initially, it looks like this might be a discount scifi adventure cast, but that couldn't be further away from the truth. The usual uninteresting spineless protagonist feels even more worthless due to how abusive the rest of the cast is towards him.

All the tired cliche humor you will see in any cardboard cutout slice of life anime. Girl hits boy because he thought/did/looked like he did something perverted. This will be the main gag and focus of every scene. Hope you like it.

I'm having a blast with this game. Although I'm not finished yet (looks like 30% of the game in 15 hours), however I felt that I'm ready to say that I really like the game. I'll probably update review after I finish the game.

First of all, this game has a lot of sexual jokes. Like a lot. Call it fanservice or ecchi, I like it. It's fun, it's silly and it's hilarious. So if you don't stand ecchi anime and sexual jokes literally every 3-4 sentences, you should probably leave this game as it is.

So as I said, I really like it. It's funny and silly, graphics are really cool, visuals are glorious for a visual novel, music is nice. S.O.S. choices make me laugh every time.

Story has somewhat steinsgate-ish flavor, which is nice and intriguing.

Also Asano is best grill.

The main reason I tried this game is that people were comparing it to Steins Gate. I was hoping for a good story with good characters and the few hours I put into this game didn't live up to those expectations.

If you want a game with plenty of fan service and art related as such, then you may like this game. If you want a good VN story with good characters I would suggest looking else where.
