Become A Tennis Coach !
In this tennis manager game, you take control of a tennis coach and his player, and your goal is to reach the Number One ranking in the world, to stay there as long as possible and win as many Grand Slam titles as possible.
Play some Tennis !
The game also features a full 3D match engine, which lets you play tennis as you want in the Training Club.
In addition, you can optionally take the control of your player during the tournament 3D matches. A little warning though: the management part will get a bit unbalanced from this, as some skills will be of lesser importance when you play all by yourself.
The match engine is based on the Tennis Elbow 2013 one, already acclaimed by many players as the most realistic tennis game, but with a new & improved physics for the ball, court, strikes & players !
The AI is also greatly improved, with new player strategies and more realistic behaviors.
Globally, this gives an advanced tennis simulation, more realist but also more demanding than TE2013, even more faithful to the real tennis spirit, which will give you a hard time to master.

Just an outstanding game. If the idea of tennis management game sounds good to you, then it is hard to imagine how this could be better. Maybe a graphics or presentation update, but that feels like nitpicking as it gets all the important things right.
The gameplay is so smooth. The players play like their real life counterparts. The training and tactics feel meaningful and rewarding. Strong recommend for people who like sports management games.
This has generally become my default game that I go to, as much because I can just have the 3D games going on in the background and don't really need to devote full attention while doing other things. I wouldn't strictly go as far as saying this game is that realistic, but it achieves the balance of unforced errors to forced errors/winners that I'm not sure any other tennis game has come close to (if not net heavy). Still enjoyable after all the time I've sunk into it, though I can see how other reviewers may have found aspects a bit tedious. I still find quite a bit of replay value in this, which is probably just down to my enjoyment of the management/sim genre and tennis in general, and is who this game does cater to after all. Dev also looks to be actively invested in improving the game on an ongoing basis, which is awesome.
Addition - I had not played match mode at time of initial review. As someone who has played Top Spin 4 to death, I think this game on the whole does the tennis simulation thing far better. The addition of the button release could add some depth, but that is a pretty Top Spin specific feature, and I do find myself doing it reflexively while playing this.
As a note, playing on controller offers a much better playing experience over keyboard.
- Similar to World Tour mode, winner/error rates are reasonable
- Positioning always matters - very nice to see!
- Can routinely hit the ball out (rather than with most tennis games where it devolves into an attrition war until someone hits a winner, so it becomes beneficial to just be able to blast your opponent off the court), and it is possible to actually work your opponent around with different styles
- Took me a while to working up to playing against Pro-10 and poses a legitimate gameplay challenge still. Being on serve actually feels like an advantage, and matches often down to the outcome of a break point here and there, which is great from a tennis simulation standpoint
- Missing volleys to a comically wide degree is always amusing (and also much like how I play in real life :) )
A few gripes though:
- The music gets pretty tiring after a while - please add more to the cycle
- Would have liked to see players in World Tour 3D mode miss by hitting into the net or long more often, rather than wide the majority of the time (from a realism standpoint). This seems to be less of an issue in match play, but still could be better
- With the spin measure turned on with each shot, I would think that rpm rather than rps makes more sense as the unit to use given this is what usually is reported on in tennis commentary
- When you have both juniors and pros recruited and attending the "same" tournament i.e. grand slams, they don't register as being the same for the purposes of training that require you as the coach to be present
- Since posting the initial review, UK Slam changing clothes to white no longer consistently works. Previously, it applied universally, unless the colours on the model were set to inverted (would appear jarringly black) but now seems very inconsistent - will work some of the time now but does not the majority of the time
- Unity base (this probably can't be fixed as such) can have lower end gear running pretty hot (my hodgepodge tower with 6700+3070 is unfazed, but my 4yo laptop with 8265U+integrated UHD 620 is much less happy but remains playable in World Tour mode. I will only play matches on my tower)
Fixed!:
- When recruiting players, their titles history gets erased for some reason - at least as far as I've observed with players I've had, then didn't keep on/failed contracts, but picked up later
Non-gripes/things that bother me but I find understandable:
- Net play is probably a bit too strong if referencing real life, but it's alright from a game balancing perspective. It also warps the winner/forced error/unforced error counts to be weird and unrealistic
- Mr "Fidirir" largely seems to need to come to the net to have any reliable chance at winning despite being called an all rounder. This is an issue with all tennis games though which is an oddity of game balancing, and one I don't think anyone has gotten a real handle on in game design
- A few players' playstyles aren't accurate to those they are meant to represent (mainly the less high profile ones), though this is understandable from a game balance perspective
General future suggestions:
- Would be great to see more swing animations added
- Need better "Nodol" forehand animations. The ones attributed to him are pretty awful; the base animation is the one I find the least worst
I first run into this game, by the same author I guess, more than 30 years ago. It was a free demo on the Amiga 500. You could play only one season, and I remember my irritation: I had barely made it to the 8th place in the ranking, but dominated the ATP finals... and then it was over. I searched a long time for the full game, fruitlessly (no Steam, not even internet back then for me at least). Now it's here. Do I recommend it? Well, of course. But only if, like me, you were a child who used dice, pen and paper to make his own sport events. In this case, it's addictive. If however you are looking for a game where you actually play tennis, well... there are no really good ones around AFAIK, but this one surely does not shine for its graphics. So, it depends: remember it's a MANAGEMENT game, and you will not be disappointed.
PS forgot to add: I am currently nr.1 in singles and 10 in doubles, I won 5 majors in singles and 1 in doubles. On highest difficulty. Beware, Djokovic! :-)
Played Top spin & Virtua tennis back in the day.
Was also good at it.
This game lacks the " easy to play hard to master " thing.
Played for one hour, could only return a couple of shots back. The MC refuses my orders, to move, etc.
How the hell this have V.positive reviews is beyond me.

False. I tried your game in a couple of difficulty levels. Who the hell are you to know or imply that i did not learned its basics with the tutorial. Are you spying on me? Or are you a liar.

In our "chat", i said that i will try the game a little more, that was it.
In the end, i hate you game.
Im not a guy you can pressure to not refund it and review it as a bad game.
And even if i review it by the terms you implied " misleading review", also is my right to do so. But i was fair and honest.
Maybe in the future i will change the review but it will be a very misleading review!
