not worth my 14 minutes
I got this for the achievements. It was hot garbage. I am sure it might have been good if there was some indication of controls and regular walking. How is it Relax Walk VR when you can only teleport?
it's not even worth a 0.99c
It would be relaxing except I can't go to the settings to change locomotion style and have to completely exit Steam VR to Exit the game. I did use it a few years ago and it seemed like I could do normal locomotion.
Basically the same thing as Nature Treks VR. It's a collection of colorful, varied landscapes that you can walk around in. At 5 dollars, it's half the price of the other one, and contains an appropriate number of scenes, all quite good and of similar quality, look and feel to the other one. They give you a youtube panel so you can watch videos on your wrist if you want. That's pretty fly I have to say. Now you can do stuff like that with Overlay apps, but it's still a pretty novel idea here. I particularly liked the Chinese mountain one, (if I'm even thinking of the correct app), it's up high, and has ponds and levels and it's very nice. Tikki Tikki Tembo-no Sa Rembo-chari Bari Ruchi-pip Peri Pembo!

Relaxing "walk" until you hit an invisible wall in less than 15 steps.
I got this on sale for .49 cents USD, and honestly, it's worth about that, but only because of the terrible movement. Moving in the worlds is either teleporting or a jerky walk that fragments the level. The maps are nice enough, and I was actually impressed with the Mars one. There's something peaceful about roaming about a huge map with no goal other than just walking about.
The temple is nice enough, but would be better if you could go inside. In all, well worth the sales price, but only if you understand it's limited in what it does. Mostly you'll be walking and exploring. Oh, make sure to leave the playground area, there's a nice sized map there too.
I'd like to see the dev come back and fix the navigation and add the promised maps, then it would certainly be worth full price. And make it easier to switch from teleport to walking, smooth those mechanics, add some fresh content, and it could be a great addition to any meditation library.
Difficult to get into the worlds and if you do it isn't relaxing. Creepy ruins and mars were the only two I could get into and didn't like them when I got there.
2/10
What a lovely idea for a game spoiled by something so simple. It chose a sucky resolution for me, and wouldn't let me change it. As a result, what should have been a beautiful experience looks like fuzzy pizza. DEVELOPERS: always let us choose our own graphics settings.
Only play if you have a beefy system. The amount of screen tearing in this made it anything but relaxing. I haven't had a VR headache like the one this game gave me before.
Regions are interesting enough and scenery is relaxing, but on my 1060 system it still made me nauseous
PROS
- Environments are cool, and neat to explore.
CONS
[*]Sometimes the game rotates your world when you teleport. It's super disorienting and makes it not as fun to explore.
OVERALL
If you don't go in expecting a "game" and you only pay a buck or two, it's OK.
I dont like to down vote any games unless I realy have to, but even for a $1 this is really really dull. You load into a scene of your choice but they instantly fill you with boredom. Nothing to help you relax or anything to do. Destinations blows this clean out the water. Happy to have paid a $1 to help support the developers expand the vr community though. Uninstalled will never play again.
I was not expecting much for the sale price of .99 cents. But this VR experience is definitely better than all the negative reviews would leave you to believe. Are there better VR environments out there? Sure, the BluVR set the standard in 360 VR experience (of course, movement is very limited in that "game.") Perfect VR is probably one of the better VR meditation geared apps.
However, this game is only .99 cents currently or $1.99 at regular price. Is the game worth that much? Yes. The VR enviroments are actually more than adequate to enjoy and relax. The only VR environment that I found needed more work was the Sahara desert mirage / pond environment. All the other ones had really nice environments you could teleport around and enjoy. They all had little details that made the experience worthwhile. For example, the swing set where you can touch and move the swings. Do I wish I could sit in the swing and go down the slides? Yes, of course. But then it would probably not be a relaxing walk VR game. It would be a playground VR game.
The game does its own sounds. However, you can open up the YouTube browser and listen to the music that you want to listen to while you enjoy the VR surroundings. I don't think you can ask for more for $2. Better than watching Youtube on your PC or laptop or mobile.
Rate 6/10 given the price.
Dont waste yur time, its not relaxing. waste of 1.99 really, Destinations is free and killz this.
-Music is butt
-its creepy
-bland and just, no
great price very relaxing and looks amazing
It's okay I suppose. There are invisible walls restricting how far one can go. The world looks bigger than it really is. One simply cannot teleport past them. Walk down the railroad tracks and you bump into it. Walk a few feet away on either side and you bump into it. There really isn't much to walk to.
Also, the undersea seems to limit where you can teleport and the fish swim through boulders. It's pretty, it just needs some work. It was the most difficult to traverse of all.
I think it needs more openness and work. Otherwise your relaxing walk is no more than a few minutes.
Not a bad program. Several of the six environments are worthy of note. The Ocean floor shows off a coral reef and it's pretty well done. There are some sunken planes and a sunken sub. Pretty cool. There are fish swimming around. I just wish there were some interaction possible. The forest and the Oasis are (as all of them perhaps are) put together from photos and the folliage is a little grainy. The best one, though, is Mars. I love this one and so far it's the most expansive Mars app I've seen. I walked for ages before I found the edge. Never found all the edges but there's a vast expanse to see here. Impressive. Though for Mars especially, I think the teleport option is better than the move/slide option. (You can toggle this by pressing the left button above the trackpad while in the game. It brings up a control panel. Look on the left side for the button for walk vs teleport). Fun! Definately worth a few dollars.
Game needs full locomotion and interactive objects with physics then it would be so much better. That being said, for the cost it is pretty and somewhat relaxing.. If it goes on sale check it out or if you wanna just chill for a couple of bucks you could do worse on Steam.
Very well done.High resolution and excellent background music.
