Tombé Drums support an extensive range of articulations. You can play cross stick hits, rim shots, tip and shank hits on the hi-hat, choke cymbals and it's all velocity sensitive.
If you're looking for MIDI output and DAW integration you move up to The Music Room for these features and more.
Please try the demo version to get a good idea of the feel and responsiveness. In the demo you have access to a champagne sparkle Gretsch Broadkaster kit and full version gives you access to more kits and venues. To use the kick some kind of mic, headphones or drum trigger is required that you can step on. An audio interface and native ASIO drivers is strongly recommended for good latency and feel.

fucking shit 20 dollars for a game that crashes every five minutes
I played only 11 minuted of this game, and that was all I needed. From the latency, to the terrible parody of the house of the rising sun, this sim is an absolute dumpster fire.
First of all, you can drum along your favourite song using this. Definitely. But...
1. Terrible interface. You spawn somewhere and the room with the kit is somewhere. If you're lucky you're behind the drums, otherwise down under.
2. Buttons! You CAN adjust the set with Q, W and K. But it's nowhere in the game, I've found this info on Reddit.
3. The mic-simulation of kick pedal is neat, but I'd rather have used my game pedal from simulators. No such option.
In conclusion: after unleashing my inner Ian Paice for 30 min, I asked for a refund.
Doesn't start, shows a black screen both on monitor on oculus rift without sound.
$hit
These people are criminals. I paid 20 damn dollars to spawn away from the kit. Best part is that there is no way to move without physically moving your seat or drum stool. Oh you'd also have to dig a hole into your floor because the kit spawns about with it being sunken into the ground. I hope you read this you criminals. Your game is garbage and you should be ashamed of yourselves for releasing such a terrible product
very good and responsive vr-drumset! would love to have a spacebar-kickdrum solution like Paradiddle has,though..that said, brilliant vr drums with even the recording studio enviroments of Tool and Pink Floyd! get it.
9/10 (spacebar kickdrum;)
#$%(ing fantastic for what it does: VR drum sim (with kick controls using separate accessories) that seems to take you as close to using many high-quality kits in your VR room as possible, with some limitations.
(BTW, YES YOU CAN USE SMALL SEATED SPACES TO PLAY, BUT STEAMVR ROOM SETUP TWEAKING IS NECESSARY)
I have experience with percussion in snares and minimally with kits (never had the space/volume capacity), but even someone who's never held drumsticks can pick up their motion controllers, play around and see there's a lot of good sounds with decent latency to work with from manufactures you may recognize. Hell, they can even begin to pick up some fills and start jamming---- if they were shown how. This software is the drumming portion from the parent The Music Room software which is designed to be a VR recording software, and like most you can work with, this one doesn't hold your hand in creating anything. You choose from 3 scenes to play from which are all nice visually (in an abstract way, not super detailed or anything), and you get access to all of the different kits in them, and bam, the rest is you.

Nitty Gritty
As I love this software, I intend to use it to it's full potential to learn (and record, separately) and play what I can, but the potential has a ceiling. This isn't in any way fault of the developers, but the Vive controllers are heavier than most drum sticks and they're definitely a lot bulkier than any and that leads to things like holding the controller awkwardly-loose to more resemble how you hold normal sticks and you'll have moments where you drop them or throw them in your wrist movements, and that brings up another point. I find that I can't use many wrist movements because they don't sound as powerful as they would on a physical kit (partially fault of the controller's bulkiness changing the speed of what you're used to hitting), leading me to needing to use my arms primarily in drumming to get the sound I need which feels forced and not of good technique. I would know to approach IRL drums differently, but I'd hate for someone completely new to it to get the wrong idea of what they're doing, completely oblivious and perhaps setting bad habits for the future, I digress.
You can't roll your notes because there is no physical drumhead that's recognized in the VR space. It's just a thing, but you can compensate for it with multiple notes decently.
The latency is great with the Windows Audio or ASIO audio option, but for everything that's not the kick drum, you won't be registering hits as many times as you know you are (which is fine, technology limitation of VR in general?) if you try to hit 32nd notes or basically go 'metal' speeds on your drumheads, so you likely won't be able to pull off your favorite faster songs even if you physically can. It handles everything else really nicely.
And I don't know if this is just me, but after a couple of times using the ASIO audio option, I no longer receive the option to select output audio and am forced to use the Windows Audio selection instead. I was (and still do through Windows Audio) running a mixer for the audio output and the kick controller input (Yamaha KU100), but Windows Audio isn't too different.
You should also know that what kind of kick controller you use gives you different amounts of control over how fast you can (or can't) use the kick. With my Yamaha, it's comparable to the drumheads in VR: okay for everything that's not fast. Double bass moments can be more challenging than their real life counterpart (even with a single pedal), but I imagine if I had a whole kick controller with pedal, stick and pad it might be different. Who knows.

TL;DR
Either way, this has inspired me to get a real kit (in time), and I'll be using this until and after then. Understanding the limitations and glories of this program, it's definitely worth the money. Have VR? Wanna pick up drums and learn at your own pace in a stress-free and low-commitment (cost of purchase) environment? Wanna play drums with little to no setup (outside of normal VR setup), record (with separate software) or livestream drumming without crazy expensive equipment? This had a demo, even.
Check it out.
I got the Demo and thought it was pretty cool...I dont like that you cant reset your view (unless not that I have found) I purchased the game but in my opinion it was just fine with the single drum offered in the demo...I wish I didnt spend the 20 bucks for the whole version. if there is a refund option I am all for it.
I'm kind of blown away at how well this works. I'm getting ready to buy a USB pedal just for this.
If you ever wanted to try drums but didn't have the funds or space now is your time. Play a drummless rock or metal track from Youtube and you'll feel like a rock star while playing it.
10!/10
I've played about 3 hrs so far since purchasing.... really enjoying it. I've been playing guitar as a hobby for many years and always wanted to try drums. However, I do not have the space to set up a kit and there's also the noise issue. Guitar Hero drums on expert is as close as I've gotten to playing a real drum set. This app definitely scratches that itch. I've been watching some YouTube beginner lessons and practicing with the app and feels good once you get used to holding the thick Vive controllers (vs real drumsticks). I'm using a old Guitar Hero kick pedal plugged into my mic input and works well.
What I think needs work -
Having to hit 'K' on the keyboard to position the drum set relative to kick pedal position is a real pain in the ass. So is 'Q' and 'W' to adjust set height. There really needs to be a way to do this using UI or controllers from within the HMD. Maybe you sit on drum stool/chair and face proper direction then hit a UI/controller button to place drum set with fine tuning controls on top of that?
I would also like some sort of control over volume within the app. I'm using Windows audio drivers and have volume set to max both on Windows controls and within Steam but still would like the drums to be louder... just doesn't seem to go as loud as other VR Steam games.
