ABOUT THIS GAME:
As opposed to other Visual Novel's set in the cities, our game is set in the beautiful Chinese countryside. We have striven to incorporate into the game the rich Chinese culture present in the rural areas. In our game, you can save the girls from their parent's feudal mindset by clicking on your mouse!
STORY:
The story centres around the protagonist Jiajun Lin, a high school student. Upon request from his father, who wants to buy the village school, he moves to Tangxia village to scout out the school's culture. But upon reaching the village, he becomes lost in the mountain paths, only to be saved suddenly by his childhood friend who he had not seen for 10 years. He also meets a tsundere farm girl with a dream of becoming an artist.
Before long, Jiajun Lin settles into the everyday village life, however, he soon realizes that the beautiful landscapes of the village hide a secret. Behind the faces of the friendly villagers, social abuse and oppression happens behind closed doors.

"Trajectory of summer flower" is a bittersweet vn. A mystery, a possible love story, a depiction and a miniature of a rural area (a Chinese countryside). It has its fair share of "boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy tries to save girl" material. If you view it as light informational fictional story, you will like it.
I had trouble deciding if I should recommend it or no, In the end, I went with recommending it because of its really low pricetag (even more so if it's on a sale) and because you can finish it in one sitting. Another reason I'm recommending it for, is that, even though, the writing is basic, the story succeeds in introducing us to a different mentality, traditions and customs. Especially as European that has never been to any Asian country, I love compairing different stories for their cultural information (and any other unfamiliar culture as a matter of fact).
It's a sweet summer story with a dark past and an adventurous present. The music reminds you of a summer breeze and the colored fonts are a nice touch (even though, at times, it can become very difficult to read a couple of lines because of the how the letters blend with the background or when it's very bright). There are alternative endings and some choices, that don't feel meaningful. The developer tried to change and improve the translation (still does actually) and the second game, which isn't a direct sequel, is a lot better and has improved in many aspects.
All of the above, sum up why I went with recommending it aaand that's where the good stuff end.
The translation still has a lot of errors although you won't have trouble understanding what is happening.
The story itself isn't particularly well written or interesting and neither are the characters you meet or the protagonist himself. It can become very boring at times. In my opinion, a lot of the dialogue feels like a filler and misses the mark to give the characters personality or to make us feel connected to them; it's an effort to introduce them to us but it just falls flat. They are closer to a caricature of a personality rather than something heartfelt. They end up appearing shallow and their tragic stories a mechanic to make us like them. It generaly isn't very well written.
If I hadn't seen the effort it went into it (and it shows and while you are reading it) and if it wasn't so cheap, I wouldn't be able to recommend it. But now, as it is, you can read it with ease the same way you are reading a magazine or a light novel on the beach to relax, have a good time and perhaps learn a few things.

Trajectory of summer flower is a beautiful visual novel revolving around a boy who is sent to a new school for a month in a village by his good-for-nothing father to see if it would fit in his collection of schools.
Along the way, two girls catch his eye, a girl who seems rather familiar and another girl, who appears rather troubled and distant. Depending on your choices, you can pursue one of the girls, or neither, but it is a really well written plot. A girl who got separated from you 10 years ago but still remembers you after all this time and a girl who is trying to pursue her dreams to be an artist. The village however, is not as bright and wonderful as it appears to be...
I love just about every character in this visual novel. They are all so brilliantly written and you can really feel their emotions and empathise with them.
The music is another great aspect, especially the title music. Such a pleasantry to my ears.
And who could forget, the beautiful art? It's absolute eye candy!
Overall, this visual novel is brilliant. It does have its flaws, especially grammar mistakes at times but it mostly does right. I do however believe, that there was no need for an NSFW scene, but that's just me! Great game!
Really nice story, with 4 different endings. The choices you make in this game may seem insignificant but each choice will change the ending completely.
The art and animation is good, along with the voice acting.
The only down side I could mention is i wasn't able to play in full screen but full screen windowed was sufficient enough.
The fully working translation and H-scene patch with a guide can be found in guides,
look for "FUNCTIONAL Patch with H-Scene Achievement" by 1caruxx
Just put both files in the main folder of the game and you're good to go
Whilst reading the comment I was hesitant, but was kindly surprised. I really liked this VN. Not a lot of choices, but still several diferent endings. I would say one of the few VN which really handles some serious topics. It was a really good experience and I really enjoyed it. I strongly recommend this one. Not the best one ever, but still quite fun.
故事有唯美的地方, 文笔还需历练, 声优配音稍显生涩, 画功有待提高, 整体中规中矩.
easy and short to get 100% achievement with a guide.
Good VN, but with problems of translation.
It's rare for me to play a VN with voices in chinese, but it's not bad. Maybe the accent of some words and phrases sound strange, and some parts need an update (In my poor opinion)
Cute drawings and goods animation of the background.
One problem to say, just in my case, it's the part when you try to back to the previous text, and you can not.
Also, the stories are good, but I think there is no balance between them.
So... You have to play this VN?
The answer is:
If you can with the translation, and the voices, i think yes, and for the price, there is no excuse.
I could have gotten a b o t t l e o f c o k e for the cost of this game. The girl looks cross-eyed and the voices make me w a n t t o d i e .
It was exceptionally dull, and had no real grip to the characters before just dumping your typical tortured backstory in to try and make you interested, Characters that they can't really define outside of what tortures them. It's also extremely short with only 3 real choices
Normal story with okay pattern. But it is a pity that I've already predicted the ending at the beginning of the game. I have to admitt that the CV performed perfectlly but the story is so normal that the CV can't hold it up. Music - just basic, just like the game. Not good, but not bad. At least I like the erotic scenes.
Long lost love, found when childhood friends reunite after having separated years ago. I've seen so many movies take on this premise, but never a visual novel. Though each character has their struggles, everything was just so cute. There's also a lesson on differing societal norms/practices and outsiders being introduced to a new setting and adjusting. I love it, also it's interesting to play a visual novel that originates from somewhere other than the US or Japan.
First off, I had purchased this game during the Steam Summer Sale, but at that time, the translation made the game nearly unreadable, and I ended up returning it. It was again on sale during the Halloween sale, and a recent translation update had been applied, so I figured I'd try it again. The people in charge of the new translation did a really good job. With the exception of a few typos, plus a bit of trouble at the end of a couple of the branches (maybe not completely finished translating?), the game is so much smoother now.
A Summer Promise to Forever is a relatively short, romantic VN (just under 2 hours for my first read, with about 30-45 minutes for each additional route using the skip function for already read text). It has multiple branching storylines, and some really touching scenes. As a translation from Chinese into English, there are some problems with nuance overall, but they are really easily overlooked, though I imagine the story probably reads a lot more beautifully in it's native language. The story itself revolves around a male protagonist's visit to a small village on the orders of his father, who is interested in purchasing the school there, and his interactions with the people of the village. While lacking in much character development, especially since it is so short, there are some twists and turns to the story that spark an interest, and keep you invested.
Pros:
Artwork - Was really well done on all fronts, with especially well done cut scenes. There is an h-patch from the developer
for those interested.
Music - Nicely done, if a little repetitive.
Translation - the new translation was especially well done, though there are still a couple of rough patches.
Story - Even with the neuance problems, as well as a couple scenes that seemed to be a bit forced, the scenes that
worked did so well enough to make the problems easy to forgive.
Voice acting - It's in Chinese, but was actually quite soothing. I don't speak the language, so while the voice acting might
have been terrible, just based on listening to it with an untrained ear, it sounded really well done.
Neutral:
Some of the sound effects are on a pretty short loop.
Negatives -
I touched on a few problems earlier. It would have been nice to have had a longer VN to allow a bit more flushing out of the story. Otherwise a decent VN.
In short, if you're looking for a quick romantic fix, I'd highly recommend it. There are both trading cards and achievements for those interested. In addition, it's really inexpensive, even when not on sale. Thanks for reading my review. I hope it helps.
Nice Story, Has Replayability, and....*sigh* anime tiddies
This is a sweet little visual novel. The translation is a bit... spotty. But as this appears to be this publisher's first effort, such can be forgiven. And they are working on it. The romances are sweet enough, especially the girl in the intro.
Now, there is an explicit patch, which adds a scene (that you find in the replay section). That scene has not been translated to English...
The story is short. Besides, there are some wrong spelling in English version. The wrapping makes the sentences hard to read. However, the plot is OK. This galgame is not perfect but it also has its advantages. I plan to do the Seichi Junrei next week because the village in the game is in Guangzhou, China, where is not far away from my location. (But some places you saw in the game are not modelled after the village in Guangzhou, some are just modelled after the Internet pictures.)
Update: The wrapping mistake had been fixed.
This is a very nice game - it covers some subjects I haven't seen in others games and found it short and sweet. The English used needs looking at and some of the minor characters need a bit more depth. That aside, the imagery, story, main characters and choice of themes was great. Well done, game makers.
Can't find Replay in EXTRA, all is a blank. WHY???
If you see some cheap looking chinese novels expect that most of them might be badly translated. That's my experience with that kind of stuff of course sometimes I am wrong look up The Adventures of Fei Duanmu or Tricolour Lovestory for good chinese translations.
Anyway what do we have here is just some boring school love on the countryside. At least thats how the game presents itself. Nice that they have good looking CG's and voice acting right at the start, but that doesn't seem like enough to make up for story introducing containing mostly "eh ah, and complaining from our main idiot". First time you see it you already want to quit it.
Yeah if you bought it at least you didn't pay much but in current state of VN market this is a simply waste of time and click bait for cheap loli romance. But hey maybe I am wrong? I am not gonna check it all to make sure soory.
Great Game.
Im a slow reader but this game is great went to far in the game and it got me >.>
Very lacking. Poor translation, spelling and grammar. Story dragged out and didn't offer a lot of interest.
This game makes me feel good inside, just needs the nude patch :)
