nice game
A great game about programming, cats, and cats who program. It's complicated and easy at the same time. It might take a little time to get used to the puzzle mechanics, which can be pretty cumbersome for solutions that require a lot of nodes, but it's pretty smooth once you get the hang of it. The difficulty varies wildly from puzzle to puzzle.
You're not always looking for the most accurate solution to a problem. I've seen some bad reviews about that, and I agree that it feels a bit wrong to intentionally make your solutions less accurate, but it's necessary to meet the speed goal. If you treat the speed goal as equal to the accuracy goal, it shouldn't bother you, and sacrificing some degree of accuracy/quality in service of speed seems pretty analogous to real life anyway.
You can also buy stuff for your cat, although it's rather ridiculously expensive. And two of the achievements are just for playing during specific holidays, which is annoying. I don't know how much I learned about machine learning, but it's a fun game, and the weird email requests are a nice touch. Recommended for sure.
Very cool game
I love the concept and idea of this game, and I would give it a wholehearted thumbs up if not for one very frustrating thing: as you move up to higher levels you soon realize that the answers are very messy and inefficient. It becomes really unsatisfying to be given a clear-cut output requirement, and then learn that the gold medal solution is to intentionally do a few things wrong. It just doesn't sit well with me, with a game like this you want the solutions to feel tidy and logical and the "right" answer. You don't want sloppy mistakes to actually lead to better achievements.
Nice game...
highly recommend someone who wants to begin in logic building for ML
I love this game
This game is awesome and I really wish there was more levels. I finished this game in 6 hours, which might be longer than other people, and it was really fun.
Not my best sounding review but it explains everything.
:) Highly cool
Cool
It's really explicit and easy to understand and it tries to break down those concepts for you by telling a sweet story. Anyway I'm low-key obsessed and my brain is kind of hurting cus there are too much to cope with but it's a good game for people who want to know some basics about programming and AI
Great game for past time and for keeping mind busy
Great game, very pleasant introduction to algorithms.
Solid game that makes programming fun! Solve little puzzles using actual coding practices, but with a streamlined UI that makes it make sense. And there are cats, so how could it be bad?
Great puzzle and education game, as the best ones it's simple in the rules but can get very complex in solutions. I'd recommend it for the weathered programmer as well as a budding one.
(Also greatly relaxes me and takes my mind from the psychiatric ward that is our reality - I just don't have enough brainpower left to fret :D)
The articles and videos are great as well, much appreciated!
very fun and educational.
Playful and educational
Bought because it was on sale and was recommended because of my shenzhen i/o purchase. Pretty neat game, have been playing for 5 hours straight. The puzzles are somewhat challenging on normal to optimise data flow. Worth a buy...a decently entertaining, fun programming puzzle game.
It just seems to be the same problem over and over. Split some inputs! Half the time you can just ignore half the puzzle constraints. I got tired of every puzzle taking about a minute to click through to finish. Pass.
great game
very fun very challenging
great
Dissapointing puzzles. Should be called load balance simulator, since even when you got a functional node system, it's less about setting up a correct logic network and more about getting the right amount of units to each target. This turns into an annoying experience when you start fiddleing around with the nodes just to rebalance the throughput, while staying under the time limit. There are little email stories, but most of them have nothing to do with the actual puzzle and are irrelevant. It's just fluff, with some exceptions like the car driving AI, but meh.
good
love it
I tried so hard to make sense of this. it reminds me of when a math teacher told me that he could not really explain how it was done because it was easy for him. the game does not provide feedback and the tutorials don't really generalise on what we are trying to do. watching the videos and other resources left me quite lost in how it related to the game and i could not even get chatgpt to walk me through. i even looked up a walk through of one puzzle thinking i would at least be able to reverse engineer what was done and figure out why it worked but even then, the solution i found as solving for gold on github only solved for silver for me and i am just giving up. there are lectures on linear algebra that make more sense. just not for me I suppose.
cool
Fun puzzle game! You learn some general machine learning concepts and you will start to think like a programmer. But you won't learn anything in the game that you can apply irl. I use it as a way to train my brain a bit to solve challenges that you can come across while programming/machine learning in a visually fun way while following a course on the side and that works really well for me!
fun and confusing, but I enjoy it nevertheless.
nice
highly recommended for all beginners in programming.
If you want to review/learn serious ML knowledge, don't waste your time on this. The game is good and I can tell the love of Cat and ML from developers. This can be rated as a game. However, the game play is nothing like how real ML algorithms work, the mechanism is completely a different thing. It is not like the game 'Turing Machine' which transfers real-world knowledge smoothly. If you just want to play a puzzle game, this is a game, but if you want to learn some ML, go to find a serious online course.
Very good for kids and adults alike
MEOW MEOW.
Cool game to learn the basics of AI
after tutorial hope there is another sign shows where to enter the game
Awesome game for learning the fundamentals, everything is explained on layman's language so that a child can understand and also they have educational external links for each tasks for the detailed explanations of the algorithms and fundamentals
Just started playing as a way to begin dipping my toes into the concepts of machine learning. The game makes it quite intuitive, with links to external sources for additional reading. Enjoying it very much so far
good puzzle :D
I just want to say this game is so interesting
while True: learn() is like my day job as a data science major, but with more cats and fewer snacks. I spend hours debugging virtual pipelines, only for a pixelated feline to judge me harder than my college professor. 10/10, would let my cat boss me around again
Sadly just looking slightly cute isn't enough to be a good game.
Not even sure where to start, what the big problems are. It's just a fucking weird game in quite a few different aspects.
There are much better programming games out there, I would suggest you try them instead of this one. This one is mostly frustrating and unintuitive.
I really wish I would have liked it. But it's so annoying and clunky.
a broad simplification of machine learning that allows you to focus on the big picture and overcome logical puzzles
Good
The game introduces you to the very basic concepts of machine learning in a fun and engaging way. The puzzles are relaxing but also keeps you engaged as you try to progress throughout the game. I have yet to finish the game but it's a pretty positive experience if you like to solve things.
I find it more fun than informative, so if your goal is to learn, I would definitely look for other resources.
Extremely difficult if you're a perfectionist and new to this type of game. No obvious method of attaining the knowledge needed for a task, and figuring out what the different nodes even do is a bit of a nightmare.
Thanks for this game,I got Google's offer.
Must build Meow to Speech machine.
I used to work in tech but I've been out of the ballgame for a couple years. I bought this game with the intention of using it to brush up on machine learning concepts as painlessly as possible. For me, the game accomplishes this goal. I think it strikes a great balance between being fun and teaching the concepts. I'm also very satisfied at the rate at which concepts are introduced. The puzzles are neither redundant nor increase in difficulty too quickly. I'm also really loving all the references that are thrown in - for example, a company in the game named "Pro-Toss". I used to play StarCraft a ton, and coming across this was the tipping point where I was like, ok, it's worth my time to write a good review for this game.
I saw a negative review saying this game "is very bad at explaining what it wants you to do, which makes the puzzles confusing instead of challenging". This hits on my one sort-of-complaint. I do agree that sometimes the instructions are unclear, but I do NOT agree that this is a bad thing, even though I also personally prefer very clear instructions - because interpreting nebulous instructions from a project manager is also a critical skill :)
Nice game.
