Every experience becomes enriched with co-presence, and vocal effects add to the fun!
- Runs simultaneously with a VR game on any platform (Vive, Oculus, OSVR)
- With headphones that support dual inputs (like the wireless Turtle Beach Stealth 450), you can even use this with the PlayStationVR!
- Multiple vocal effects to enhance different VR gaming experiences:
- None (when you just want to curate someone's VR experience)
- Ghost (fun in many types of games!)
- Walkie Talkie (especially good with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, or space games)
- Chipmunk (for added hilarity)
- Monster (you know what this is for)
- Bit (sci-fi goodness, especially fun with games like Bounce)
- None (when you just want to curate someone's VR experience)
We have had a blast using VRCURATOR when introducing people to VR, or just joining another's experience for fun. There's a night-and day difference between using VRCURATOR and having to shout through someone's headphones, interrupting their experience and breaking the immersion. Now they can stay completely immersed while you guide them through the experience!
It's especially fun to join your friends in the VR goodness, turning every VR title into a local co-op experience! Because, using the "Monster" voice while your friend is in a horror game is just too fun to resist. ;-)

Only facilitates one way communication. How am i supposed to guide people in VR remotely if I cant hear what they're saying back?
Wow...what an awesome VR enhancement app!!! This thing is exactly what I was looking for, as I do a lot of demos with my Vive. This app makes it so much easier to communicate with the person wearing the HMD, in order to give them instruction...or just mess with them a little :D
All I had to do was connect my mic to the 3.5mm jack on the little Logitech speakers volume controller, and then set playback devices in Windows to my Realtek High Definition Audio, and select the same thing in the actual VR Curator app...and Viola!!!
An absolute "must have" piece of software if you own VR hardware. With this, instead of trying to yell instructions to someone playing a VR game with the headphones on, you can just hit your Spacebar and speak normally into your microphone.
Frankly, this is so useful that I was surprised it wasn't already built into the SteamVR software. But hey, for $5 (or $2.50 on sale), it was worth buying.
Very cool and useful tool, especially when demoing VR for friends. I have actually been looking for a mic tool like this for a while, but haven’t been able to find anything working well until now.
This is a great app! Really useful for gently walking initiates through the VR experience without breaking the immersive experience by having to shout to get through their headset. Also a lot of fun toggling through the voice effects depending on the game environment. “Walkie talkie” on the deep ocean floor is perfect.
Now that I have this I wonder how I did without it. Really simple and much needed extension to the VR system.
I found this to be a very simple and fun way to be able to speak to someone while they are inside the VR headset. My friends and I used it to have fun messing with the person in the VR while playing multiplayer games. I highly recommend using this for parties and co-op games.
If you find yourself constantly demoing VR experiences to friends, family, or others who have never experienced VR before this is a great companion application. It's premise is simple, but it helps correct a huge oversight in social VR experiences. I'm actually surprised nobody thought of this sooner (I mean I hadn't either; now it seems so obvious).
When I demo VR to newcomers it is often useful to be able to speak to them and help orient them in the new experiences by giving them directions. But when users have headphones on as part of their VR experience it can be rather frustrating to have to yell loud enough for them to hear my voice over their headphoens. Not to mention the fact that it tends to break the immersion for them.
So far I've tried it with my bluetooth gaming headset and it works perfectly. I can speak directly to players in my headset without having to yell or take out/off their headphones. I feel official wearing a wireless headset while guiding them and it's awesome for them because it feels like they are talking to mission control while on a VR expedition (the walkie-talkie voice effect really sells mission control experience).
If you are a solo VR gamer and don't often share the VR experience with others then I'm not sure this app would be for you. But if you do share the joy of VR with others often (or plan to) this simple integration of voice chat directly into the VR experience really helps; surprisingly more than you think (honestly I wasn't sure before I tried it). I have a whole mobile HTC Vive setup and I take it around all of the time to demo to people and the addition of this tool is very welcome.
The different voice effects are cool, although honestly just having the dry signal would be enough for me.
Now that I can see the value of curating a VR experience for someone in a more immersive fashion I'm curious to see where it will go from here. Hopefully Lobaki will continue to evolve this product. I'd love to have some sort of visual overlay/integration besides just audio (if that's possible, I'm not sure). That would be the ultimate mission control/VR expedition experience!
Wow, I was happily surprised by this little app! I decided to try it out since I had some friends coming over to play with my Vive today. I was able to easily communicate with them while they where in, and found a lot of fun in the voice filters! It opened up a whole new angle to a bunch of my games and made it super easy to help them out during their first VR experience. Again, I didn't expect anything special when I got it, but this totally changed my outlook for social gaming with VR. I look forward to inviting more people over to have another great experience. Thank you!
This is so fun, helpful, and works like a charm!! I love the voices. My favorite thing to do is to change from voice to voice and almost have a one-person acting moment. I'm super glad that this exists, and from what I've read this seems like it would be super useful for when I invite friends over! Chipmunk is my favorite!!
What an awesome addition to my VR Library. I work quite a bit with people to whom VR is both new and (sometimes) intimidating. Not only does the Curator enable me to guide others through each experience I have loaded on my laptop, but the added ability to change voices further heightens each players personal experience.
I particulaly like the "PAN" feature which allows me to direct participants to turn left, right, or center to highlight specific features in each VR app/experience.
BRAVO!
