Absolutely wonderful game
Yes, it doesn't have the features that many of the Paradox games or its sequel (Age of History 3) do. Yes, it has bugs and exploits that probably will never be fixed. But its appeal lies in its simplicity. It's so easy to learn even someone like me who struggles to learn civ6 or vic2 can play.
The game is extremely customizable. There are many scenarios, some good (World War II, modern world, 1440, haven't tried them all) and some bad (Football War, Second Boer War). There are plenty of mods which add more nations and scenarios and there is a scenario and civilization editor, although I can't say much about because I haven't really tried it.
To expand on the exploits part, as another user mentioned, you can get any nation to declare war on any other nation by going to trade request and pressing declare war on the right side of the trade (not even any gold required).
Overall, I would highly recommend this game, especially if you can snatch it on sale for like a dollar, which is well worth it for hours of fun.
Edit: There's no mac support which is unfortunate but you can use wine
Great game. I love it when 10 most random contrys from oceanina declare war on me and im 100 000 000 gold in dept. While my allay is at war with India,Russia and the whole African continent. This ai is prety great. Not to mention when 1 soldier takes my capital city. 10/10 game
If you like games with great big guns and ruleing a nation! This is your game. And mine, and what I really like the game, is the pictures. Yeah, I know sounds odd. But cool just seeing the leader your playing as, another thing I love about the game that I think many can agree with me on! Is just have short moments of the game where you just get to see your big ass empire! I have lots more to tell but i'm to lazy to, but I love this game, and I recommend to any and all people!
phenomenal game so far, however its kinda funny how randomly uganda attacks my ally italy and then alliances with indonesia or something very good game and very random, at the start its hard but after like an hour or so you learn the mechanics pretty fast, sad how you cant really multiplay, well you can but its not that good
Good strategy game, that game will make people more smarter and have more plans than usual
the game is AMAZING but there are some things that should be added (even though the game is rotting and has no updates)
military tactics? where in military tactics does my allies instead of fighting just sit in the back while yelling 'lets go bro" and sending me like 1 dollar?
Age of History II is an addicting game. At one point you are starting the game and in a blink of an eye - three hours have passed and I am recruiting army in every border province. Just make sure you understand you will look at a map for a long periods of time. Enjoy!
This port's QoL is so bad you'd think it released in 2007. Seriously. The menus are total jank. The scaling is awful. It is such a barrier to entry that it physically stopped me from playing the game because I could not successfully interact with the game's systems. What is this?
"My enemies are many. My equals are none. In the shade of olive trees, they said Italy could never be conquered." Napoleon Bonaparte
its worth it beacause it doesnt cost much but get boring easly i fell so dont get it get victoria 3 or something this game is not da best
many bugs that make playing alot more painful, biggest one being if you're fighting against an enemy and they have taken your lands, held them and then you retake them, there may be rebellions that take some of the previously conquered lands of your enemy. then when you go stop that rebellion (on occupied lands, not yet yours permanently) the enemy will get the land back, including every troop you had in those lands to stop the rebellion. enemy thus got like 500K of my troops for themselves and proceeded to completely wreck me. took about 50 hours to win. very easy to learn the game but too many bugs to recommend the game.
I used to play this game on mobile, It got me into map games, now I can't stop staring at maps for hours on end. The game itself is fine, good game to start your map staring career. Easy to understand but extremely annoying at times (very many bugs). It is very easily moddable and customisable, great mapping tool, also you can waste hundreds of hours crafting your alt history or alt Future scenario. Would recommend
Frustrating controls, feels like a game that should be free to play.
very fun game, many scenarios and countries to play as and overall fun gameplay in general
i hate this fucking game so much but at them moment i"m greatest geremany so yea i hope we win
Age of History 2 has great potential but ultimately disappoints. Despite an interesting strategy concept, it offers shallow gameplay, predictable AI, and lacks depth in mechanics. The interface is clunky, and the gameplay becomes monotonous quickly. While there are many scenarios, the lack of variety and engaging choices makes the game lose its appeal fast.

A grand strategy game that was made for mobile and so was made to simple to understand and easy to play. It has several scenarios to try out and if you want something new, you can make your own scenarios. You can also create your own nations which is fun. Whilst it is great, there a few bugs that you will likely encounter. Most of them are fine, however I did encounter an issue after playing enough turns where the game broke, however I only encountered it once. It also has a multiplayer, but it is pretty lacklustre and requires everyone to play on the same device. Overall, it is an amazing game, especially for it's cheap price, jam packed with a ton of content to enjoy.
This game was recommended to me by a friend of mine, 2 years ago, I really liked this game, considering that I don’t particularly like strategies, but this game, like the Age of History series as a whole, impressed me, this game is really addictive, especially with mod Addon+, if you, for example, do not have the Internet, then this game is just a salvation for you, I recommend it!
Creating scenarios is easy and fun and playing them is better, the strategy you need to use to play the game is fun and interactive
Very good game, a lot of thinking, making the right decision, making friendships with other countries, counquering them, will eventually give you victory
it is great, you can customize everything, its perfect
The game is buggy as hell
The start of every game is very good, you don't feel like eveything is being gifted to you. Obviously there are civilizations that are more difficult than others.
However the balance of civilization power is mostly given to their population. Economy, diplomatic relations and size practically don't matter at all.
Trade is messed up
There is this bug where if you trade 100 gold (which is nothing) to a civilization, you can make them go to war with whatever nation you can think of. There are other options to trade, like provinces, military access, defensive pacts, non-agression pacts, etc. But I haven't been able to trade with any of them, even when I'm the most powerful civilization of the game.
Civilization Power and Combat
As I said before, the power of a civilization comes from its population ONLY. More population means you can have many more armies or numbers because that's all they are on the map. An example of this is France and the British Raj in the 1936 scenario, this are two most powerful civilizations of the scenario. When playing, the British Raj proclaims independence from the British since they both have the same power, and thus it messes up the alliance between Britain and France which gives them both tremendouse power and making the unbeatable if you don't make them declare war to each other with the trade bug.
Combat is confusing. There are modifiers of terrain that affect how well your army does on certain terrains like mountains or deserts, but late in the game, they don't really matter that much since, by that point, armies are in the tens of thousands and these penalizations are unnoticiable.
And I don't know if this is a bug or not but, late in the game, you can see all armies in the world from other civilizations and most of them are packed up in their capital, like 500k+ troops, and when they are attacked they send the 500k+ pack altogether, and now you're fighting their entire army in a single province and you, that has the troops along your borders, must recall all of them to fight the massive army or to waste money with conscripts, effectively defeating the purpose for strategy and preparation.
Other weird bugs
When you are pretty far off in the game, this bug happens where all diplomatic relations between relations are set and stuck to zero, you can't improve or severe relations anymore.
Also it tends to happen very often that an economic cluster always happens, this means only one civilization in the game will start to pump a single province with money to improve its economy.
The goods
The colonization system is pretty good. It makes sense that in early game colonization is expensive and when you unlock more science points and time passes, it becomes cheaper. But you can't create vassals to administer said colonies because a British Raj scenario could happen.
Have not the developer abandoned the game in favor of the 3rd game (a copy of EU4), I think this game could have been way better thant what it is now.
I recommend grabbing this game on sale rather than paying full price for it
Nice game, but i hate the bugs, hopely the AOC3 (or AOH3 idk) will be free of the most critical bugs.
I like the game; it is enjoyable, but there are many bugs that still haven’t been fixed after several years. These issues make the game unenjoyable and lead to a frustrating experience. After playing for several hours, the game starts glitching.
Some examples include: achievements not working, or after a few turns, you send an insult, but nothing happens—the relations level remains the same. It also suddenly shows all countries' relations as 0, and no matter what you do, it stays that way. This makes it impossible to send ultimatums. Some regions are stuck at 99 economy, and even if you invest in them, they remain at 99. Countries attack random countries without any logical reason, and some nations refuse to accept peace no matter what you try. At this point, I don’t recommend buying the game unless it’s at least 80-90% off. There are modded versions available with more maps and fewer glitches, which you can also find on the forum.
add air warfare and nuclear bombs. make nukes have 1.0 research points and have them be made in an arms factory level 2, and they cost $35000 to make.
Seems legit. If you care more about strategy than fancy graphics, this does the job.
Gra dość prosta ale chwile zajmuje żeby ogarnąć szkoda że nie można tworzyć własnych państw ale pomaga uczyć się stolic :)
-chose germany
-start invading europe
-random afican contry declare war on you
-send request for peace
-he refuse
-ignore it and continue invading europe
-he send 5000 army on you
-fight next 20 rund with his army that spread across your country
-send request for peace
-he accepted
11/10
This Game is very entertaining and fun. It does have some bugs and things that need fixing but overall its a great game!
simple and great game, also gives a lot for a small price. 100 times better than hearts of iron IV
Çok iyi oyun sadece 5 dk oynasam bile gözlerim yaşarıyo
Makes you think outside of the box, and its very fun! especially the feature where you can go back in time
Its really fun.If you are a begginer in this type of games you shold try this one first. Its easy and complicated at the same time
very good game for people who like to play hstory games and tactics.
Age of History 2 is a very well made game. It's the perfect strategy game for beginners who might not want to feel overwhelmed. It's mechanics are simple and easy to follow. There are many great aspects in this game , such as the ability to form alliances and certain formables.
Of course this game isn't without it's faults. For example , random AI nations will just attack you even if you're in a diffrentcontinent. Then there's also the issue of certain features being unuseable despite being in the game.
But honestly , the pros outweight the cons of this game. I highly recommend getting this as your first strategy game , its easy to learn and tons of fun.
I'll definitely be buying Age of History 3
good game for those who enjoy long and slow games. kinda like HOI4 fro beginers.
Very good would recommend but it is not easy when you start off should watch tutorials
It could get better, but has been pretty good untill now.
There are a few bugs that kinda ruin the game sometimes, but they don't happen often so it's kinda fine.
We need new maps though!
I love history and this game is all about history. Because of this, this game is so addictive to me that it's all I play to pass the time after work. All the burdens of my life seem to disappear for a moment when I play this game, I think I'm overexcited. But give it a try, there are also a lot of people who make their own modifications so you won't get bored.
A very simple game where all the combat can basically be dumbed down to larger number beats smaller number. But it is still very enjoyable to play as long as you can ignore the bugs (some of which can break the game but are very rare.)
Decent Game! Not the best tho. A few bugs here and there, and sometimes, you lose custom maps.
I can not tell you how easy, yet fun this game is compared to other strategy history games. This game is so addicting that it made me, a person who buys a game plays it for 2 hours gets bored, and doesn't play it ever again, addicted!
Here are some things I'd love to see in this game:
-WW1 map
-The alliances showing up immediately when you start playing
-Multiplayer
-Better AI
I know that AOH 3 just released and there might be a fourth one , but I'm saying this because , as a child, AOH 3 is very complicated for me
This game is very nice. Even if the new Aoh came out, this is still, in my eyes, better as much as nostalgic.
Awesome game, spent nights on this just to have some fun. Hopefully they make an online version in AOC3
The game is good, needs some bug fixes but overall the game play is fun
okay game but uninstalled after finding out the creator is a scummy person and incredibly childish when facing criticism (ISP video with a misinterpreted title)
not recommended for that simple fact
I wasn't far from clicking "not reccomended," but in the end, I reccomend this with a warning. If you are an impatient person who gets angry or frustrated easily, do not buy this. There are bugs you can adapt to and evade, however, you need patience for that.
But the reason I'm willing to look over this issue is the brilliant combination of simplicity and detailness in this game, as the game being too simple or too difficult has always been a problem for me with strategy games.
One last thing that may lure you in: This game doesn't take place in one year where you choose a country and just play the same story over and over again, just from a different point of view. The (more or less, too lazy to count) eight scenarios take place in a spread of over two thousand years, and I have to say, creating such accurate, detailed maps so many times is impressive.
In the end, compared to other strategy games, I'd give this 7/10. But devs, listen: Work on those bugs and this baby can climb up to that sweet ten.
I have played this game on mobile for years and now that I have it on PC it is SO MUCH BETTER!!!
But...
I would like to see some bugs being fixed and new music added and new maps!
