Classic.
But If you want to really enjoy the game, you'll need mods like HPM
its a pretty cool game, i would recommend the steam guides instead of yt cuz you can read at your pace and theres a lot of guides, but if ur starting out then i would recommend just to play through like 5 games all the way until 1936 or u get conquered, then go to the guides. ik its a run on sentence but the game is good, so i would recommend to play it
It was probably a new and novel game for its time, but completely pales in all regards to victoria 3.
This allows for the dream of colonial empires that never were. Modding is great as well.
great game i like it better than EU4

looks like some game, exactly same
Make Prussia Great Again!
Early Meiji Basedtoration
paradox how hard is it to add a workshop to this game.....
Better then Victoria 3
Buggy, takes three times to open/start the game, impossible to understand how it works in the background at a 100%, Still better than Victoria 3. GG.
game good. play game. game fight back. tagswitch. game break. think about game. regret.
Having played Victoria 3 before this, it's really interesting to see the "DNA" of this game that went into its successor. There's a lot more to enjoy here in some regards, but one thing Victoria 3 does better is giving you information. For example, it's a lot easier to see how to move through forms of government in V3 though its elaborate tooltips -- here in V2, a lot more information is hidden, harder to find, or unexplained outside of the manual. For lack of a manual on my desk, I even had to look up what combat stats like "support" are doing on the wiki. (nb, the game does come with a PDF manual, which can be found on the store page and in the game's installed files)
Speaking of combat, the combat system seems a little less sophisticated than EU4, one of the other historic Paradox titles I'm used to. This is a maybe a good thing, but I did kind of find it funny that the AI was only ever going to circle the Ivory Coast to land on exactly the closest tile to its homeland, over and over. It made setting up a defensive stack as Sokoto and just wiping out wave after wave of Danish troops pretty straightforward. I managed to hold on for surprisingly long at 31 infamy until I was at war with both Spain & Italy at the same time, when I decided that history had run its course for my little broke nation and quit my save.
Anyway, do NOT go over 25 infamy, do not trust laissez-faire as a tertiary power, and DO have fun!
i finished the game in 5 hours 5/5
ignore the playing time. i have been playing this game for 4 years on a disc and ive only bought it now LMAO but this game is very good. the best game paradox has made. just get HOD and AHD and you're good. mods help the experience vastly aswell
There are a lot of positive things about this game. However, the biggest minus is that the game is interesting only if one plays as a superpower. For small countries, there is not much to do, they are only spectators.
4 hour map bust challange complete
Don't waste your money another paradox game that needs the DLCs to work.
Uno de los juegos más interesantes e increíbles que he podido jugar, si le metes mods es muchísimo más interesante, le recomiendo a aquel que quiera disfrutar aún más meterle mods, es fácil y hay tutos en Youtube
When i first played this game, i didnt play vanilla i played with GFM and HPM and others. The game was so buggy it crashed every 3&1/2minutes and the farther i got in the game the shorter that time was.
I played vanilla and realized it was one of the worst things ive ever played
This game also gave me a pop up when i first opened it saying "You need software you dont have to run this"
10/10 would play again
Like most paradox games its either for you or not at all, i can see where the appeal is though i could never get the hang of it as it's too convoluted.
You can gas the french.
10/10
Trash. If you want to play this, you must have all DLCs because the mods and many crucial features arent in the base game. This trash It always bugs, especially with ships disappearing. Sometimes I'm not at war with anyone, but just because I've put a bunch of troops on several cargo ships (WITH CAPITAL BATTLE SHIPS!) the game decides they're going to disappear halfway, never reaching their destination. No pop-up appeared saying that there had been a battle or that they had died, which is impressive because this happened about 3 times in less than an hour, and it was so bad that I lost several won wars thanks to this, because I had the opportunity to win, but the troops never arrived for me to declare war with an advantage. Now, apart from that, the game has too many pop ups, it's impossible to have peace, every hour even in war the game will play more than 10 pop ups a minute, AND IT'S NO JOKE!!! You can't play micro because every time there's a pop up that gets in your way, even sometimes to pause time! As if that weren't enough, it's practically impossible to play Uk without having anarchist revolts all over your country, because even if you support the liberals, the game will fill you with pop ups giving debuffs and militancy, non-stop.
Game crashes on boot unless you disable SAM and Resizable Bar. This just shouldn't be an issue.
big country nice
Best game ever!
Great games even 14 years after release. It definitely shows its age, but its extremely fun with mods like HPM, GFM and even CWE (Cold War Enchantment) if you want something completely different.
This game is a masterpiece. Aside the low specs requirements, this game is a great gateway to grand strategy genre as a whole, being very easy to learn and adapt to. I like it for being simple yet complex, giving people chance to organize accordingly, set own goals and meet expectations, evolve at own pace and with own playstyle. Want to spectate the world and engage with economy only? Sure. Want to use game cheats and mess with the engine? Yes! Bored of vanilla and into modding? Checked. This game is fit for everyone, even who want to challenge themselves and conquer as much as possible! Great experience. The retro style of it all adds a specific charm. 10/10 would conquer African lands again.
fun but army management makes me want to jump off a building.
Cant wait for the sequel!
Better than Victoria 3 !
Meh, its alright, but the army management is hell
Polk should've of annexed north Mexico
good
One of my favorite games when you have all the DLC and play it with the HPM mod. Its very cozy and feels more relaxed than the other paradox games.
It barely works
10/10
Here is my experience from a complete beginner without any grand strategy experience:
1st playthrough - Trying to start completely not knowing anything, playing as Sweden.. went bankrupt in one month
2nd playthrough - Again playing as Sweden, watched few economics guide on YT and purely went to industry-technology path and population management (jobs wise) without caring about politics and pop demands, ended up with rebellions 3:1 to my standing army. (by this time almost 3 hours of my first ever session with the game already)
on my way to my 3rd playthrough, cleaner run this time, definitely will explore more mechanics of the game even further in the following runs. I can see why this game has its hardcore fans.
Definitely a 10/10 gaming experience, buy it, you won't regret it.
Why are the graphics better than VIC 3
A flawed masterpiece, it is not for everyone, like any game there is, but it can definitely be hours of fun, especially with friends
Taught me capitalism is good.
The most well-rounded game Paradox ever made. Everything went downhill after this.
awesome history game for those history nerds like me
bueno
this game ruined my life
If you've heard Vicky 2 called a "Flawed masterpiece", that is exactly what it is. With HPM, it's just about fun.
Paradox somehow managed to drop the ball on Vicky 3 so hard that this may as well be a full masterpiece.
I love seeing one million Chinese men be lost in battle. All for my demand concession Casus Belli!
It's fun
programação horrorosa.
não aceita teclado multilingual;
não sabe o que é apresentar mensagem de erro no console (prefere crashar o jogo do que mostrar o erro);
não tem opção fácil para customizações (editar eventos e qualquer coisa relacionada ao game);
não tem opção para SIMPLES-E-MENTE alterar um número base (transformar 10 em 1000, precisa sempre fazer algum drama chatooooooo);
depois dos anos 1900 o FPS cai d+;
depois dos anos 1920 é impossível de jogar;
em 1940 ou sei lá o jogo acaba e não respeita se voce quiser jogar mais;
etc etc etc. A ideia é boa, a execução é desgostante
The base game impressed me so much that i had to get a DLC for this game. Just a really Great game and i would recommend getting this game
Infamy system is suck
