não aceita teclado multilingual;
não sabe o que é apresentar mensagem de erro no console (prefere crashar o jogo do que mostrar o erro);
não tem opção fácil para customizações (editar eventos e qualquer coisa relacionada ao game);
não tem opção para SIMPLES-E-MENTE alterar um número base (transformar 10 em 1000, precisa sempre fazer algum drama chatooooooo);
depois dos anos 1900 o FPS cai d+;
depois dos anos 1920 é impossível de jogar;
em 1940 ou sei lá o jogo acaba e não respeita se voce quiser jogar mais;
etc etc etc. A ideia é boa, a execução é desgostante

I had a fantastic time playing Victoria II, but it really feels like one of those games that felt like it was overly old; this despite being a game from 2010. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable enough to explore for a few playthroughs.
The thrill of managing one of the great powers during Victorian Times, or perhaps building up a nation to take that role. How will you manage your government, delve into industry, wage war, and so forth! If you are not westernized, how will you become so, to prevent being destroyed by the colonizers!
Unlike other Paradox titles, there isn't too many DLCs you need to pick up either.
If cheap I recommend picking this up for sure.
It's one of my favourite pass times with the game, you get to guide your nation by either dominating the other nations through conquest and strategy by making sure you have enough money, manpower and prestige to get to the finishing line.
can't recommend the game enough "8/10"
If you're thinking about buying Victoria 3 I say try(maybe torrent ;) ) this first as the newer game isn't like most Paradox Sequels, its not just this but with some DLC content baked in and maybe 2 new features, its a completely different and way less complex experience with more content taken out than added in. Of course i mean compared to GFM and divergences of darkness, no one actually plays base game vic2 it is a given that youll end up playing with one of those two mods sooner or later. Dont be intimidated by the year this came with gfm/dod it feels and looks like a modern Paradox game.

the economy is a little crazy, but once you embrace the insanity, it's a lot of fun

The fact this game's mods are still being developed and updated even after Victoria 3 has been released just shows you how good this game is, and I imagine Victoria 2 will remain the relevant victoria game for a long time

Just awesome... Way better than victoria 3 due to its classic combat system, which we all love.
If you love grand strategy but couldn't "get" HOI4 then Victoria 2 is for you. I'm not saying one is harder than the other, instead it's more personal taste. The economy in Victoria 2 is a bit more intuitive for me so I enjoy the game more because I feel in control. I recommend this game to everyone.
I got 100+ hours because I used to play on a pirated copy BUT I finally bought it since the game is not affordable

Playing this with the GFM mod or similar makes this game shine.
Only issue the mods is that they are not supported by Steam, therefore you need to reach out on Discords.

Such a good game. Shame Paradox doesn't use their earlier successes as models on how to make future games because whatever they're doing now is not it.

Absolutely fantastic game from 2010.
No other game manages to merge War, Politics and Economics in quite the same way that Victoria 2 does. While Paradox and other studios have games that outperforme Victoria 2 in one of these categories, perhaps even two of them at the same time, nothing, and I mean nothing has such a great blend of all three.
8.5/10 game still in 2024 only because it is so unrivaled in its space.
My OG Paradox experience, never gets old! One might wonder what the old passionate studio combined with it's modern resources could achieve? Well... i'll just wait and see what comes next.
only thing going for it is the population system.
combat is done better in HOI4 and EU4 and CK2
politics is done better in EU4 and CK2
little to no event pop ups compared to other paradox games and even the ones that do pop up are pointless
little to no ways to interact with your population aside from taxes

This is such a fun game, yet it is very infuriating with the rebels. It’s not over the top difficult, like HOI 4. It is easier than some of the other games. Although, unfortunately, it is lacking in flavor and historical accuracy. You will need mods for those, though they are very great mods.
Get HPM, HFM, GFM, or The Grand Combination mods if you want to have these flavors and historical accuracies. Have fun, though I suggest not playing a lot if you have bad anger issues, you will get angry in this game.
