Starring the acclaimed British actor, and 2-time Oscar nominee, John Hurt (Contact, Love and Death on Long Island, Elephant Man) TLC is a feature-length film seamlessly combined with computer-game like navigation and interactivity.
The player is voyeur, detective, judge, and patient all in one. Between each variable scene, Dr. Turner enlists the viewer's help in assessing the behaviour of each of the films characters - Turner's beautiful, deluded patient, her dangerous husband, and the mysterious, seductive psychiatric nurse enlisted to provide what may, or may not be, TENDER LOVING CARE.
The viewer's answers to Dr. Turner questions the shape the course of the action and the final outcome of the story. The viewer, too, becomes one of Dr. Turner's patients, taking a series of Thematic Apperception Tests (TATs), the results of which create a progressively accumulating personal psychological profile, and a complete psychological analysis by the end of the movie.

TLC is fascinatingly bizarre. If you don't read the side material, which most people don't I image, you're going to be missing out on this weird... I don't know how to put it other than "expanded universe" to what is otherwise a really, really bad and hoaky FMV movie.
I can't help but think the movie was made first and foremost with a few """alternate endings""" which are so weird and tacked on you'd assume the game just bugged out and stopped short, and the game was made around it. I say this because when you read the personal journals of all the characters, they say things that are just COMPLETELY removed from what's actually happening in the story, like someone's AU fanfiction about what their favorite character was thinking at this time. Nurse Catherine in the movie is just a complete psychopath, but her journal makes her out to be a kind and understanding person DESPERATE to make this case work, but constantly obstructed by Michael.
This is straight up two different characters, like a writer is desperately trying to make Catherine a kind and likable character underneath her rough exterior when in the movie she's clearly just nuts. Someone was REALLY trying with this side content, and I highly doubt even 10% of players are even going to see it, and with line deliveries such as "Breakfast Time" and "Organic Herbal Shampoo" I don't know who would take this seriously.
If you plan on playing this, do it with friends. It's a great party experience and Michael's journals make for some really fun and uncomfortable moments. There's also a lot of quizzes and questions in the game that I'm sure will get some good responses. Otherwise, it's... It's definitly TLC.
Oh yeah and don't look in the community hub it's... It's full of pictures... Very, very degenerate pictures.
Great Game fucked me up get drunk and let it play you
A camp masterpiece sabotaged by some very '90s sexism, biphobia, & poor portrayal of mental health. The atmosphere of distrust and ambiguity goes a long way into fooling you into thinking this game might be doing something interesting or abstract. In reality, this game is like a teenager hiding their porn mag behind a copy of Psychology Today. The psychological musings are set dressing for sex, melodrama, godawful poetry, John Hurt distressed mugging, and some of the best so-bad-it's-good content in the medium. If you won't be too put off by the aforementioned sexism, biphobia & bad handling of mental illness, it's a camp disasterpiece worth playing.
3/10
In retrospect it's obvious now why the genre of games that ask you if you fantasize about horse penises never took off, but it took Gaming Pioneers to take that leap and show us why.
I can't explain it, but this game is just FF7 without combat and Barret.
John Hurt you LEGEND, RIP!
Not my favorite FMV game ever, but I found this one quite enjoyable years ago as well as now. I like this kind of "low quality" acting. The psychological aspect of the game is interesting, and I'm glad it works well on Steam Deck. Getting all the endings was my quest years ago, though I don't remember getting them all. Maybe I'll do it someday. If you see it on sale and like FMV games, you should definitely buy it.
Buy it!
got it on sale for a dollar. for that price its a decent experience. beautiful ladies, some nudity and a couple decent softcore 'implied' scenes.the story takes a turn for the worse as the guy gets anger issues and nurse gets confrontational and my choices didnt seem to affect the outcome much, at least not in the way that I hoped.
Amazing.
