Sky Is Arrows is a real-time tactical roguelike where every second counts. Control a powerful hero, command five unique army groups, and adapt to a battlefield that changes as quickly as you can think. The deeper you go, the stronger your enemies become—and the more decisive your choices must be.
The Final Boss returns every five Acts. You cannot stop him. Only delay him. How far will you get before the world crushes you?
Fast Fights, Deep Strategy
In battle, your units automatically advance and engage—but that doesn’t mean your job is easy. You’ll reposition armies, cast high-impact spells, and make snap judgments about when to protect your hero or push for victory.
Build a squad of five armies with over 40 unique units
Have your armies cover your hero’s weaknesses—and let your hero cover theirs
Leverage terrain, counter unit types, and time your abilities for maximum effect
Choose from four distinct army factions:
Regiment: The human faction led by Sir Roland, known for discipline and defense
Wyrm: Servants of Aldruin, the dragonkin faction wielding fire, poison, and brute force
Curator: The mystical elven faction, aligned with the forces of nature herself
Each battle is short—10 seconds to 2 minutes—but packed with tactical decisions. The rhythm is fast, but never shallow. A full game may last 5 minutes - 30 minutes depending on the player's skill.
Tactical Drafting and Item Chaos
While exploring the map, you’ll discover chests containing 1 to 3 randomized items—then choose one. Most items can be stacked up to 30 times, while others are unique or exclusive to specific maps and DLCs. There are 73 items in total:
41 Core items
6 Dragon Bracer items
20 Celestial Bow items
6 Ebonhare Visage items
The longer you spend choosing, the harder the game gets. Every second matters—even between battles.
No Two Runs Are the Same
Each Act brings new terrain, enemy combinations, and unpredictable modifiers. You’ll explore haunted graveyards, storm-wracked battlegrounds, corrupted shrines, and other ever-changing environments. Battles escalate. Tension rises. Heroes fall.
Survive long enough, and you’ll encounter the Final Boss. Defeat him… and keep going. He will return. The game never truly ends.

Great game reminiscent of some classic tactical RPG's I used to play. There’s a lot to explore between all the heroes and enemy types. It’s quite challenging as well but it feels fair. I'm several hours in now and yet to win a campaign but I'm learning from my mistakes each run and getting further than the last!

A rewarding tactical RPG with challenging combat, deep strategy, and rich world-building. Battles are tense but fair, and the progression system allows for creative builds that keep each playthrough fresh. The Ebonhare Visage Item Chest DLC adds a few new items for extra combat options, but it’s a small addition rather than a game-changer.
Eh, game is okay. It's a bit fun but it's also frustrating, typical of anything with permadeath. Hard to maintain any sort of army long enough to build up strong units once the difficulty gets to a certain level. The difficulty rises pretty quickly and becomes a war of attrition as the gold and experience earnings don't seem to be rising at the same speed as the difficulty. Also, just in case you get comfortable and start making progress, the game will also send enemy armies to capture your castle, so you'll also have to split your gold for defenses. Granted, you do get a town portal, that won't help you if you get caught in a battle right when an enemy is heading to your castle.
Game plays a bit like Might and Magic/King's Bounty but in real time with no tactical squares/hexagons and randomly generated maps. Some thought is also needed as far as whether or not you will rush through acts or if you will try to build up your hero/army. Each playthrough feels like a bit of a puzzle due to the RNG.
There seems to be a bug that prevents you from picking up item chests sometimes, which has the possibility of leaving you 1 good item behind.
I'll recommend it, albeit with a little hesitation. The cheeky way the game tries to defeat you becomes obnoxious since there is that layer of RNG on top of it.
