Heartwarming stories and an exciting plot. 10/10

10/10 worth the effort, i cant decide which character i like the best lol i like them all
Initially, I had high expectations of this game. Because, c'mon:
1) Dating dragons
2) Crime Scene Investigation *puts on shades*
3) Time travel and multiverse *enters a certain blue box*
A perfect combo, so, what could could you possibly dislike?
All the mentioned bullet points were followed to some degree, but sort-of-abandoned halfway through. Dating - more like friends meeting - affects the ending - kinda - but isn't nearly as good as you might expect from a visual novel. Investigations are few, and aren't that interesting as, for example, Soul Suspect had. And Time Travel, well...coudre avec du fil blanc, to avoid spoilers.
Supposedly, you can go through the game several times and the plot will change. True, to a certain extent. But, it's not that interesting to go through multiple runs, compared to Slay the Princess, which actually remembered your previous runs and added extra content because of it.
Sidenote: macOs Sonoma, Version 14.6.1 (23G93) can launch the game - despite the description - but Steam overlay will be disabled(Force knows why)...
It's a good hell of visual novel (the work that must get behind this ghost!)
It's simply every tiny choice you make have consequences, everyone of them.
And you would need more that one play through to get all of the story.

I don’t often return games, but I gladly made an exception for this one. It was such a staggering disappointment on every level.
The premise: You are an ambassador to a parallel dimension where dragons are the dominant species instead of humans, but also there are murders and dark secrets to uncover; basically the dragon version of Hatoful Boyfriend. How could that possibly go wrong?
The writing is so, so bad, and the art is worse. The backgrounds are clearly stock art that makes no sense with a nonhuman environment — the indoor environments make no sense with the skills we’re told the dragons have (low dexterity to fire breath) or their size (they shouldn’t even be able to fit through the doors), and the outdoor environments make no sense when we’re told we don’t know whether this is an alien planet or an alternate universe but there’s regular trees, grass, and bacon. Repeatedly, the characters look up in the sky and never think to realize you can use stars to find out where you are. The character art is terribly inconsistent — one dragon wears clothes while all others are nudists and no one comments on this, they have furgonomic hats but no furgonomics anywhere else, and of course they include all the dragon subspecies with no acknowledgement of how little evolutionary sense this makes or how their society can possibly function with both bipeds and quadrupeds (including wyverns with no hands). They even specifically bring up in dialogue how badly paper letters work for them when they’re constantly shredding them by accident, but we’re apparently not supposed to question how little sense this makes.
All this despite the fact the protagonist is supposedly a biologist, but they never think to question any of this because they are the stupidest, most incompetent, and most incurious VN protagonist I’ve had the displeasure of piloting in a very long time. “There’s just been a murder and my only other human contact is the prime suspect! I should spend the rest of the day reading a book inexplicably sized perfectly for my hands. Oh, but not that one, it looks like actual history, I should read trashy novels instead. No, not that trashy novel, it looks like it’s referencing something relevant.” They just stand there gormlessly listening to dragons explain how utterly nonsensical their society is and then say, “Sure, that makes sense.”
At least they don’t have lizardboobs.
Great Story Would recomend for people who are intrested in a mystery and romance story

Angels with Scaly Wings is a visual novel with likeable characters and an interesting world to learn about - overall an enjoyable experience, easy to just keep playing, though I wish it had a bit more strength towards the end.
Its main strength is getting to know the characters, spending time with them even while things crumble around you - each feels different and worth exploring, with plenty of tender moments. By starring dragons, it also helps challenge preconceptions in terms of looks and gender, which I enjoyed. However, the game makes some points about the dragon's indoctrination/ programming/ inability or lack of desire to learn 'because it's in their DNA', which I wish were more explored. My read of the game doesn't make me very happy, even though I feel like the game wants to treat them as no lesser than humans.
Great game, I do enjoy playing the game that have dragons, I'm usually enjoy story based game on certain games. Only thing i disappointed about there no voice for the characters at all that was ok.

Fantastic visual novel! I was not expecting such an in-depth story out of this game, but i was happily surprised. This is a must play. I'm not even going to TRY and explain how mind-bending this story is.
Absolutely recommend this game. Came for the dateable dragons, stayed for the plot twists. Legit felt like I was playing a Megaten game after a certain point.
I bought this game almost half a decade ago, why? I was a horny teenager who was enamoured with dragons... I long since forgot about it, with it downloaded on my PC through the pandemic and it was four days ago that I was bored and happened across it, a game that I'd not played yet. I said fuck it, launched the game at just before six in the morning... I didn't leave my desk until twenty-one, fifteen hours later... Only once I managed to give Anna a happy ending
This game not only captivated me to the point that I finished it in one sitting, but it managed to gleam the greatest respect I can give any story... It made me happy, it made me cry, and it made me cry from happiness
I've only cried five times in the past year... this game more specifically Anna took home three of those five. This is an honour I haven't been able to give to any story for over a year, and the only other in the past decade was a small story on the internet, No big studio productions, no triple A games this made me feel where an industry had failed before
Even if the DLC had been $100 I would have still bought it to support M.B. Saunders, cause this game earned every second of that
Not to mention some of the mods for this game, Freefall's good if you like Adine, but as an obsequious mess for Anna I adored ChaosKnight's Not so Tragic Hero, Amaletz's Aftermath, and especially Nyxondra's Requiem for Crimson Scales 1 and 2 who all (plus some others) gave me another 40 overly enjoyable hours of playtime
Can't wait for Strands of Fate, and I'll be watching for more mods

Angels with Scaly Wings is a dragon-themed mystery visual novel—or so it wants you to believe. In reality, it throws you into a multi-layered sci-fi murder mystery where you navigate romantic and friendly relationships with a diverse cast of characters. These include Bryce, a police officer ready to show you his wine bottle; Anna and Maverick, both eager to take your blood in their own ways; and Emera, who’s essentially a dinosaur cosplaying as a dragon.
I’d recommend it to anyone interested in multiple replayable endings as the game offers plenty of paths depending on the characters you interact with the most.
If for some reason you're thinking about getting this game like a decade or so late, and aren't sure, go ahead: it seems like it would be either a meme game or a scaly fetish game, but in fact it's a shockingly seriously written drama with very light romantic elements, likable characters, and a pretty neat story that unfolds over a respectable play time. Well worth a read if you like visual novels.

This game is a hidden gem. I first played this in April 2023 for April fools day to play something silly and different not really expecting much from it. It ended up being the best game I played that year. The soundtrack is striking and memorable as are the characters and their backstories.
I played this to 100% twice on consoles and despite there being so many twists and turns it's surprisingly free of plot holes. It even ties in well with the more recent web comic Angels with Broken Hearts which I've been reading recently.
In a world where so many triple A games are buggy, bland and uninspired, Angels with Scaly Wings stands tall as a memorable and unique experience and proves that you don't need a super high budget to make something great. You just have to give it a chance and not judge a book by its cover.
The PC release of this is the way to go thanks to integrated mod support and the digital deluxe edition content. If you don't mind reading, this is a must buy.
Damn did I not expect the story and use of fourth wall breaks to convey it would go this hard...
