Sea of Thieves WISHES it could be this good

Yet another asset flip from scammers Conglomerate 5. Rubbish gameplay. Horrid controls. Avoid.

Oh, and the noses of these pirates. Gives new meaning to the smell the sea.
Worth a couple of bucks for the trading cards and the unique game play that just might drive you nuts.
Hints. Click on an enemy to attack them. WASDQE only controls camera. If you drink rum you will drop your sword. You need to pick it up again. This is a clicking skill game.

For what it is, this game isn't that bad.

You play as a pirate, who collects a band of 3 other pirates to create a crew.

While collecting your crew, you end up facing off against 3 factions.

The British, a faction that blatantly just pillages everything, (to be fair the player also is just pillaging everything)

The undead, a faction of skeletons....

The Islanders, a faction consisting of what appears to be every stereotype about mayans and native americans melded together.

Other than the islander faction having the Chieftain, who has a ton of health and is bigger than other characters. Every faction has the same weapons and objects at they're disposal.

Throughout the game you face off against these factions in a series of levels, controlling your 4 pirates and isolating enemies in order to gain the upperhand.

While the each level is actually really enjoyable, and requires a fair amount of strategy to complete, the controls do make it a lot harder to enjoy this game.

You need to control your units using the mouse, and repeatedly pausing the game, and often times you need to make your units move somewhere and do an action and then make sure you press the exclamation mark to allow them to move on there own, or else they will stop fighting the moment they do the action you listed. This gets tedious, and buggy, and annoying as all hell, VERY FAST.

Luckily to keep you from getting annoyed, the game features a cutscene on each level, and some of the goofiest character designs I have ever seen. Even though this game has low graphics, they did a LOT with those low graphics, and I can respect that.

Finally, when you beat the game, you can press quick game and watch some auto battles for a bit, which is good for killing some time.

In short, thanks to its cheap price, and 1-2 hours of content, its definitely worth getting this game.



-note, this is a strategy game, similar to games like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. There is no multiplayer as far as I saw during my time playing.
