About the Game
NOTE: Game requires Windows Vista or higher, along with a minimum resolution of 1920x1080 to play. Windows 7 and some other users (depending on their video card and system config) may need to play the game with 96 DPI or 100% - Normal system fonts for the game to display correctly.NOTE about genre and who this will appeal to: This is primarily designed as a quick, light, casual macro-management 'lunch break' strategy game. It isn't Stellaris or GalCiv III, and wasn't intended to be. Please bear this in mind when you purchase. Thanks and enjoy!
Fantasy Kingdom Simulator transports you into a medieval realm where you reign as King of four villages, and your duty is to help them grow and blossom into fully developed cities. You'll be making meaningful choices, important decisions and face the consequences if you plan poorly.
These are living, breathing cities, with farming, economies, births, deaths, Morale and Regents that rule over them, each with their own set of 5 ratings that help you to determine their worthiness to lead, such as Honor, Military Skill, and Intelligence. These villages run themselves day-to-day, but it's your job to step in where needed to guide them to prosperity and eventually, independence at 600 population.
- HD Quality: Fullscreen 1920x1080 design and stirring, original music draw you into this fantasy world.
- Never The Same: Each game and world is generated randomly, which presents you with a new and fresh challenge every time. Not just called a Simulator as a gimmick or a joke -- the game uses a realistic city growth algorithm with natural ebbs, flows, and births/death patterns.
- Make Decisions: Cities can make requests, such as asking for a temporary reprieve from tributes, loans to be repaid later, or food when needed. Beware: Some are trustworthy and keep their word, and some do not! Visit the cities and change their status and priorities when desired, such as imposing emergency taxes, making speeches to attract more citizens, or other functions. Call elections to politically impeach rulers not doing their job, or.. take a more direct approach.
- Raise Armies: Buy troops for each city to defend them from attacks, either from beasts or other cities. Recruit special Generals with unique abilities to join you in your rulership, and send them on adventures to recover artifacts for cash or food to help feed your people.
- Full Heir System: Local city rulers have children, who then inherit the crown of the city upon their parents death. The chidren's stats are generated separately, so they may not be the same as their parents.
- Events And More: Deal with hundreds of random events, plagues and droughts, build structures to effect various aspects of your realm, make decisions at key moments with custom written option interludes and influence the growth of your empire.
Take the crown and guide your kingdom to new destinies today with Fantasy Kingdom Simulator!

oh facebook game
It's not very good.
It's gameplay has a great basic idea, but the game comes off as dull, repetitive, and glitchy; even to the point where I THINK for sure, that I'd DEFINITELY be better off with "Dark Messiah of Might And Magic", rather than this game.
It only took 69 minutes to complete, but it was fun!
The short of it is that this game doesn't make you feel that you can do anything to affect the outcome. If decisions have half the impact on success that random number generation does, I haven't been able to see it.
Great game for 28 cents. The function ,troops, buildings tab sometimes stop working, but a simple save game and reload makes it work again. Hey for 28 cents on sale one can not cry too much. LOL
No different resolution apart from 1920x1080 makes the game unplayable even on not-that-old laptops and the dev seems to be blind to this issue.
Really poorly made game... bad balance... Not interesting... Some buttons on screen don't always work and the game doesn't tell you why...
the only good side of this game is the card collection if your a card collector for steam exp... other then that nothing good about this game.
get your wellies back on boys, 'cause your not quit done with this game just yet, even if you gave it more of an evil bankers flare to it you might just be on to something, also your algorithm are too predictable, give me a shout when you've upgraded it..................
This is a very poorly coded wanna-be game. It's not much to see, other than a few static pictures and buttons you click. Many glitches prevent the buttons from working unless you constantly restart and/or alt+tab to get the top layers to respond. Huge issue with resolution, and your machine font/DPI settings too. "Game", yes in quotes, is 0.99 cents.... was on sale for 15%off, plus one of those random 33% off coupons that show up when crafting badges,.. so I decided to check out what a 0.35 cent sh!tty game might feel like. Potential was there admittedly.... Sorry if you have wasted your time.
Interesting idea, but I can't recommend it. It let me start the game without inserting any name into the save file and it doesn't remember the audio settings. Also, the game doesn't appear in the taskbar, this is new.
it just seems to fall face first in a pile of poo. first, how the game is executed as a background program is super annoying, i shouldn't have to keep changing my settings to play a game. Second, no instructions on how to play, and sometimes buttons fail to be useable, just the lack of information of the game is annoying. I doubt anything will come of this seeing as how its only .99c now, and think that the developers have abandoned it. Maybe someone could use this as inspiration to make a better one,
Bought the game thinking I might have an hour or two's fun and laughs at it, and enjoy a dollar well-spent. However, I quickly find that the game only runs on 1900x1080 or whatever absurd resolution (My rather sizable laptop only supports 1600x900 at max), and there are absolutely no settings available to change this. Additionally, upon googling further information for perhaps a workaround, I discover that the Developer is so delusional that they think this is an acceptable exclusive resolution for this game to run on.
0/10, don't bother wasting your money unless you already have a monitor that can support the resolution.
Shame on me I guess for assuming a game might run in a resolution equal to or smaller than 1600x900.
Maybe the worst part is I have to wait with the game launched for 5 minutes before I can even post this review...
Well although this game has a mostly negative review pile up, the game does have some redeeming features.
The strategy aspect far outweighs the simulator piece.
You get 4 cities. each one needs resources and defenses to be successful. Some of the city leaders come to you with issues that you can easily dismiss. Other do have legitimate issues which should be addressed.
The game is text based and really doesn't last very long. I finished the game in less than 2 hours.
While this does have mostly negative reviews, and I personally wouldn't recommend it, for 99 cents it's not a bad little time killer.
I give this 4/10 mainly because it's limited.
Unable to play
I'm not talking about technical "won't start up/black screen" problems
I mean the game doesn't work because the only resolution is too high and cuts off 3/4 of the screen, leaving me with a small corner
I have a decently sized 1920 x 1080 monitor and the game doesn't scale to this, so I cannot play at all
Had to idle the game to get it to the point where I could write this warning
If you only support 1 oversized resolution, it needs to be labelled as such on the store page w/ a warning label
The game doesn't run correctly and there is no support to contact. THe publisher doesn't even have a web-page. VERY POOR.
I never even got to play the game, so I installed it and booted it up. Upon booting it up it only shows half of the game screen. Its like the game is too big for my laptop screen. I thought this was just a simple boot error. Well I couldn't even close out of the game without shutting down my computer. For some reason my laptop didn't even recognize it as an application that was actively running. Please fix these issues and make the game playable so I can write a legit review.
Almost 7 years after I purchased this game and it still has the same issue. Trash
This game still needs a LOT of work. The concept is nice and amusing but it's kind of all over the place.
For example Normal difficulty is the same as hard difficulty but you might get a city or two starting above 80 population. And the amount you need to spend does not reflect the level of population or anything at all but seems to be completely random. What this means is that you'll get into debt really quickly because you'll be spending a lot more than what you're making.
This feels like it was written together as a quick thing and isn't worth getting for more than $3.
An extremely limited game. Initially you choose between spending money on soldiers or buildings that give you more money. The middle game consists of you clicking on a “send scout” button and an “adventure” button every few turns. The end game requires you to click a “visit city” and “give speech” button every turn. The tedium is occasionally broken by an “event” with an arbitrary choice. Be prepared for the limited number of events to repeat over and over.
I was very disappointed with the game, it appears on the surface to be a simulation, but in reality it isn't much of anything. You don't have any real control over the cities or events. You have some minor influence, but in the end your choices are more or less meaningless.
I will make this short and sweet: This is a .99 apple store phone game. I will be requesting a refund as this is a buggy, uninspired, terrible piece of garbage!
Its a little buggy, sure, but for the most part it works; you get these random invasions and events, with regents and heirs. I played this on the hardest settings and beat this in exactly 48 minutes. thats exactly 48 minutes of my time wasted on a title which absolutely is irrelevant.
There is a building feature that can give you perks, but its not actually buildings that go into your towns.
Too little fantasy, too little kingdom simulation. perhaps this will change, but until then, i suggest finding something else.
I typically don't like reviewing games when I haven't quite played them for not even an hour. However, I cannot give this game a pass, the game MUST be addressed for how terrible this game is.
The game has a good concept and idea, don't get me wrong. But it lacks in every other factor. Gameplay is EXTREMELY slow, the UI is god awful, the music is dreadful and erry. There's nothing fun about this game.
This game isn't worth its standard $5 USD. At this point its a flash game, thats all that it is. There's nothing here to warrant a 5 dollar price point. A 1 dollar price point yes, but not 5 dollars. Its not worth it.
The best course of action at this point would be the following;
-Overhaul the UI; add more descriptions, not this hover over a number to get details.
-Gameplay must be sastifying and fun.
-Replace the music, please pleas please!
I will be requesting a refund but I'll keep my eye out for any updates or improvements.
Wish I could refund this pile of garbage. The game either finishes in under an hour or you get all of your cities to 3-4x the 600 population goal and one city is sitting at ~100-300 for hours. Poorly designed game with no thought put into it, not worth a single dollar.
This game is something that would be on a bad flash game website that work doesn't block so you're forced to play it because of the limited selection of other incomplete games.
Completed the game in less than an hour. By the end I was just mashing End Turn as nothing that happened could affect me. I was sitting on piles and piles of gold.
This game seems to present you with problems but it doesn't really go about telling you how to fix those problems. I found - especially Morale - that I had no clue why numbers were dropping in a seemingly normal, healthy city. How was I to fix it? Call an Election? Assassinate the current Regent? Sure, why not both until something works....
I didn't try any of the advanced options at start of the game. Though some sound like they will make it seem harder, I would speculate that harder in this game justs equals taking longer to get the same point anyway.
Of note, once I finished the game I got a single screen telling me I had done my job with an "OK" button that completely exited the game. No credits, no high score, not even taking me back to the main screen.
Is this worth $5. Maybe for some, but for me I'm going to say no.
