this game is officially bussin, Thanks Nan for buying it for me x
This game seemed to have a lot going for it, it's incredibly affordable (I picked it up for about 50 cents) and from what I can tell offered a unique, educational experience. I'm currently collecting a variety of cheap titles while researching the Steam market, as I plan to publish my own game, and this seemed like a good one to check out.
Steam says I played for 1.4 hours, though that was really idle time. From what I did play and read, the game is designed for 11 to 14 years old. However, I think the target audience might not be quite right. Kids in that age range are often more sophisticated these days, and I suspect they might find the game too simplistic to hold their interest.
The gameplay looked straightforward, like a point-and-click adventure where you explore a historical setting during the plague in France. I really didn't explore very deep into it because I think I get the idea already. Perhaps there is more to it? While their approach is probably educational and has potential, it feels better suited for a younger audience. I can see younger children enjoying it while learning something valuable, but as it stands, the game might not fully engage the age group it seems to be aimed at.
I won't recommend this game. I switched window to come back to the Steam Client, so I could make this review and when I switched back to the game, it seemed to have locked me out while playing some odd music. I need to make sure I don't make a game that does that when I publish.
If I have time I will revisit this and I may change my review, because my perspective is from a very shallow feel of it (which is all I wanted). Sorry if this is your favourite game. I'm 50 years old, so its no surprise that I got bored of game suited mostly to pre-teens.
This quirky game is designed to tell you the difficult story of medieval Europe, experiencing the raging Black Death. Immerse yourself in the events of the history of these dark times.
Playing History - The Plague offers a unique and educational experience that immerses players in the dark times of the Black Death. The game combines engaging storytelling with historical accuracy, allowing players to explore the impact of the plague on society
This is what I'd consider more of a edutainment software more aimed toward kids rather than hardcore gamers. Basically this is a point and click small adventure with some minigames interspersed throughout. I wasn't expecting a whole lot considering this was on sale for .49 cents, but there was actually some quirk and charm and some fun little elements added in here like the goggles that allow you to view objects from different time periods. There are actually a few interesting things about the plague in here but it's not densely informative or for if you're trying to get a thorough understanding of history at the time. For what this is it actually seems like some fun thought was put into this, I can't really recommend it to hardcore gamers but if you're someone who enjoys checking out weird/different little titles and a small adventure taking place during the plague you might have fun here, if you're on the fence pick it up on sale!
got plague and died
Educational point and click game about the “Black Death” plague in the mid-1300s Europe. Target group seems to be elementary school children. Very simple gameplay. Easy to 100 %. But then substandard content and poorly optimized gameplay leads to not recommending it.

Playing History - The Plague, is an educational adventure game about, well, the plague. The game aims to teach you about historical events in history, this time, with a focus on the Black Plague that occurred in the 14th century.
Play as Marchione, a boy in a city that has recently been hit with a strange plague, which nobody knows how to cure. Journey through the city, uncovering any sort of clues as to how to fix this mess.
Solve puzzles, play minigames, avoid the plague and more in this educational little game!
Overall, quite a fun play! It would work quite well to educate the youth. It does come with its bugs and isn't perfect, but I believe this game is time well spent!
