It's not so good it's very clunky play style
I love that this exists, I wish there were many more games like this. The biggest changes I would make to it are 1) let the player play via a first-person view like in Arma (so, WASD movement and mouse-look) and give orders through the map like in Radio Commander / Radio General, 2) show every single soldier, not just 1 soldier for every 10.
A bit clunky, but ACW fans will enjoy it. Do wish the tutorials were more "idiot proof".
One of the finest games I have ever played. Had many hours of exhilarating combat with this game. Unfortunately, it doesn't work - or at least I couldn't make it work - on Windows 11. Cursor is invisible for one thing. I got that fixed a few years back, but don't recall how the heck I did it. Then, there's the high resolution thing. My monitor, by default, is 3840 by 2160. By changing display options I either get too tiny to read text, or scrambled desktop icons that need to be rearranged after opening the game. I finally gave up. Maybe some day I'll give it a go again. Meanwhile, I will hope that the devs can adapt the game, at some point, to the new, remastered edition of SOW.
