I am making this review after playing the single player mode as a quest to beat all the steam games i have so ignore my review if you are looking for the coop part.
The single player campaing is similar to the bloody trapland gameplay.. a lot of cheap of deaths and that's it.
The hitboxes of the objects that kill you are giant, a lot of times you wrongly jump on the plataform as it doesn't has a good coyote jump mechanic and often you will go a little too much or to little on platform jumps..i would say it's too precise.
The story itself is funny and simples but the gameplay stressed a lot out of me even tho i wasn't try to beat it hastily
Very funny game for when you want to have a laugh with friends. Some bugs here and there, but the stupidity of the games compensates for that.
Kind of a classic, but you need a party of 3 or 4 players for the game to show its true potential. Still not up there with the best party games or 4 person PvP games (Duck Game) but it's pretty hilarious, especially the soccer minigame. I actually wish more of the games were physics based, and wish there was a higher luck/randomization component. As it stands, the best player always wins which doesn't make for the most fun party game unless you make the winner drink A LOT.
There are few games that are more fun to play with the squad on the couch than this one. Grab some beers, grab some bros, and let the good times commence.
Oh yes, we had lots of fun with this game.
My friends and I were happy to discover the party mode one day. Ever since every now and then we meet up and get a little drunk with this game. Never touched the single player thou.
This game was totally worth its dollars.
Still I am a little sad that there won't be any more content. Would love to try out more mini games.
8bit fiesta is the greatest party game ever created. My hours represent about half the time I have in 8bit due to one of my other bois having it and putting in work on that steam account as well. We have gladly pulled elbows over UFO Contact. A wise man in our group once said “there is nothing I respect more than 8bit.” I couldn’t agree more. We love it so much that we even created a team mode because we got tired of waiting for 8bit 2. For those interested in the team game we use the rules below.
Our Team Rules
First you need mini beer pong set. Two players are on a team once one of the players on a team wins one of the mini games each winning player gets to take a shot at the other player’s cups and each cup made equals two drinks per player for the losing team. Whichever team wins the crown gets to pull a cup or re-rack the only cup that cannot be pulled is the final cup which has to be made and then the losing team members both have to take a shot.
P.S. We all still take are drinks even if we are the team mate of the winning team because we are savages.
Great Party Game!!!
+ lots of funny characters
+ nice, precise controls
+ lots of minigames
+ oldschool retro-look and midi-sounds
+ challenging singleplayer-mode
- local-multiplayer only
Actually my favorite couch-game with friends:)
Non complicated party game. It's nothing original, just a large handful of mini-games that you could play online. But, it's organized in an easy-to-pick-up way for multiplayer and with it's music and extremely "Whatever" attidude, it ends up coming off as somewhat endearing. Dropped 5 bucks on it and have gotten more bang for my buck already.
Best party game ever. I mean it.\
EDIT: After one party when I drank like 10 beers, 0.5 liter of Port wine and a few shots of Raki in 3 hours and passed out naked and drunk af... I will not play this game ever again.
10/10 would not play again
A simple mini-game style party game for 1 - 4 players.
It achieves what it sets out to do, which is being a fun, easy to pick up party game! If you have 3 friends to play with, you really can't go wrong, especially for only a couple of dollars.
I would only recommend that perhaps the devs add split keyboard mode, so you can play with multiple people on 1 keyboard - the controls are simple enough to allow for it, and I can't see it being difficult to implement.
Needs online mulitplayer...
Edit: Ok ok, Sorry for the short and stupid(ish) reveiw at first. Yes, I would love the game even more if it had online muliplayer, but the game its self is really fun, reminds me of a supermeat boy with some witty comedy here and there.
Though its "Not as good as Dark Souls" You will die like you are in Dark Souls. You will die a lot, and probably curse at your screen on more than one occasion.
Great game. Local 4-Player co-op is fun with a low learning curve. Each game is fast and allows players of varying skill levels (and ages) to play together, laugh, and have fun.
Not really sure what to say here. I had absolute no expectations when I bought it, which meant that I was opened minded to the whole thing. Opened mined or not, the game in it\'s current shape is truly awesome. Not because it\'s innovating, ground breaking, has a lot of content but just because it being so screwed up, crazy fun to play with your friends!
The game actually collects and steals with pride several simple, fun, adictve concepts and and put them all together in one crazy mix. I really can\'t wait for more content!
TL:DR Version - Fun!.
A fun and silly party game, no negitives unless you don't have friends to play with (tip: they can be found outside - your local pub maybe able to help).
There is a single player mode also which will drive you mad but you will have a lot of fun going mad at the same time.
The title music is awesome.
Personally i have this game setup on my PC connected to the TV and play with friends using xbox 360 controllers.
The game plays in rounds of quick fire mini games with the first player to reach 5 rounds the winner. There are pleanty of diffrent types for example a bomber man style level and flappy bird type game, and more coming all the time.
One man dev team, but done properly think Stardew, had a bug recently (not anything that should put anyone off) dev realised there was a bug, had a work around, replied to my bug report and other users within hours. If you buy this game (at time of writing at least) and it doesn't work for you straight away, don't be a norman and thumbs down tell the dev it will get read and replied too.
I'm crap at this compared to my friends and the drinking game mode may have led to mild alcoholism.
11/10 Would abuse liver again.
Local Multiplayer game.
Grab some friends, let them bring some controllers if you haven't got 2-4, Perhaps get some beer before they arrive.
Let the weekend fun begin.
Tournament Mode:
Play against your friends on various Minigames, deselect the ones you as group don't like. And see who's best.
Fiesta Mode:
Basically the same, with an Implented Drinking game. Tells you how much to drink. You can imagine how it ends like after some Tournaments.
Well, Singleplayer and Speedrun.
Not only if you're forever alone, but also for people that like to unlock all charakters, theres no going arround this one. It's not an easy Mario game, you will die, many, times.
I can't really tell much more about the game, You already know what it's about. Playing with friends like in old times, play some casual games together and have fun! Also big shoutout to the One-Man-Dev who Fixes bugs and listenns to community feedback. If you find a bug, report it on the forums.
I brought this game to many parties during the holidays and it was a total blast every time. It truly is a perfect party game : will run on any old laptop you've got hanging around, cheap and highly entertaining. Just hook in a couple of controllers and you're off.
The solo mode is also extremely fun and hard as ***** to finish.
I can't recommend it enough. (A testament to how good this game is, at least 3 friends bought it after playing at a party)
You will like this game if you:
1. You have friends
2. Ever played beer pong
3 Think mario is cool
4. Think you are better then the people sitting next to you
5. Believe that pole position is more then a dirty term
6. Beat someone at Duckhunt and felt like a marksman
7. Spent time guiding a little bird between sets of sewer pipes
8. Heard of Snafu
9. Like to kill zombies even if they are not that scary
10. Think an animated plastic trophy is worth more than gold
Pros: Fantastic gameplay, responsive controlls, local co-op, competitive, 360 controller support 4 players, constantly adding new mini games
This is such a fun game and I've enjoyed the campaign a little, although not played it all that much but the multiplayer really is so much fun !!! We have had so much fun..... Also a fair bit of frustration competing !
Also what's great is that the game is constantly being updated with new game modes, achievements, new characters (I get that it's early access and that's how it is supposed to work but I can't help but think it's so gosh darn awesome!)
So I highly recommend this game.. So much that I actually reviewed it.. First time I have done it and truth is, probably the last because I am not a fan of things that take effort............. Anyways get this game!! Well that's if you want to, I won't be offended if you don't listen to me as I am just a stranger from the internet, well I might be a little offended, infact I already am!! Get this game and make up for the pain you've caused me!
In the first hour I died over 600 times. That's an average of one death every 6 seconds.
- If you like Super Meat Boy, you will love this game.
- Singleplayer story contains Santa on a quest to kill Hitler, with special guest appearances by Jesus.
- Great local coop mode. Tons of modes.
- Local coop has a built in drinking game!
- Crazy addictive music. Couldn't find the song on YouTube, so I keep the game in window mode open in the background.
Perfect game for an evening of gaming and drinking with friends.
Rating: 600 / 10
Played this as an actual drinking game last night - and it was a riot! I have a group that plays TowerFall and SpeedRunners like twice a week. We will try anything that supports major local co-op action. This game was a no brainer.
What is cool about this title is that the game modes are randomized for each round. One round may be a race, one may be a deathmatch, and yet another may be an obstacle course. The variety is great. Everything stays lite and accessible for newish players yet there is still some cool difficulty for old-school gamers. Here is a great example of how they accomplish this: there is a room with lots of spike hazards, and it is a race to the end. If you can get to the end without touching a single one - you can win it in one go, BUT if you touch a spike, it is removed, essentially making the run easier. You keep respawning infinitely after death.
Totally accessible game that is really fun for local co-op. I highly recommend.
