A great game in many aspects. Great Mahjong mechanics with additional tile features at each level. Cute animated story that drives the game from the 1st level all the way to the very end. Lots of other stuff to do too - like puzzles, etc. Great music, although a bit on the short side. Receommended!
This game is a nostalgia bomb for me because I used to play it religiously as a child. It's a good game that adds an interesting story line to the Chinese tile game. The backgrounds are lovely, but not distracting, and the music is amazing. If you're a fan of tile-matching games, I highly recommend this.
Very relaxing. Music is great. Excellent puzzle game.
Mahjong Quest 2 is a very nostalgic game because I remember playing the game and my mother when we first bought it on a CD disc, the other day I saw that this game was on steam and I was thrilled. And the game is exactly as I remember it like 10 years ago. I love this game so much. And I am glad that the game came as part of a collection because now I can play all three. Great game! Highly recommend if you enjoy mahjong.
i used to have the first mahjong quest game on my old computer as a kid i got it again on stream was fun to replay mahjong quest 1 again, but i haven't played mahjong quest 2 and 3 yet
I have played this as well as the other 2 other mahjong quest games since I was a kid. Really like it lol
I used to play this all the time in the mid 2000s on my grandparents computer for hours, randomly downloaded this for nostalgia and it still holds up today. mahjong is a fun and sometimes challenging game that you can find yourself playing for hours without realizing it. definately great for casual gamers looking to stimulate your brain in a different way from most games made today. Simple graphics and even simpler mechanics but give it a shot!
It challenges your mind, listen to the tiles and they will guide you to the win. The biggest thing is stay on course to complete the puzzle.
Its the old game your grandmother plays with a choose your own story aspect to it.
Please add soe new games. I love to play as you can tell but we need some new ones. Thanks
I love this game. Played it years ago and finished it without issue. Now, the game will not save my progress. I have tried contaction iWin and have not received any helpful support. I wish they would fix this issue as I love this love key stress free game.
This series, alongside with Bookworm Deluxe, is the greatest game(s) for me, and making the biggest influence on my life.
While Kwazi was saving the world, we also feel that how Yin and Yang is very important for us on daily life, and teaching us how the life is and what should we do, It's a good game series as well as the lesson of our daily life.
I'm waiting for the new MahJong Quest game(And Jojo's Fashion Show) is REALLY REALISED!!!
Points: 10/10 and 96/100
I love this game. I've re-installed it many times and started over more than once. It has a fun story and good levels of challenge. Also one of the least buggy Mahjong games I've played in the last ten years. No idea why so many Mahjong solitaire games are prone to odd crashing bugs but never had a problem with this game. Cute, fun and worth the time.
This is a fun set of games, that are classics in their own rights. The collection contains the first three Mahjong Quest games, which allow you to play a number of mahjong boards, plus also deal with an overarcing plot involving Kwazi. Well, more of a set of quests that Kwazi goes on, from game to game.
Still, worth it for the price.
This game is bad beyond reason.
Mahjong Solitaire should be, one would think, a relative hard thing to get wrong. You match tiles, there's an element of randomness to it, so you don't always expect to win but as long as you can find two matching tiles the game is pretty simple. Right?
Wrong.
So, first the game introduces all these crap tiles which I guess are supposed to make the game interesting but just wind up confusing the rules and making everything terrible. You've got brick walls, AKA tiles you can't clear. Which any person with a room temperature IQ would say, "That's a bad idea and antithetical to the idea of Mahjong Solitaire", but then they graciously add dynamite, which you can use to clear brick walls. Except there's 3 types of walls and 3 corresponding types of dynamite, so it's possible to have dynamite but not the right TYPE of dynamite and on boards where the brick walls are used there's usually more walls than dynamite anyway so the odds are good you're going to wind up pinned on your first couple attempts.
That's just the beginning of the bad bonus tile nonsense. You've got typhoon tiles, swap tiles, copy tiles, magnet tiles... and that's just in the part of the game I could be arsed to suffer through.
The boards in story mode aren't random either. Another thing that a decently intelligent person would be like, "That's bad. Don't do that." But no. The main mode of the game uses the same configurations for every single level the whole way through. Which brings us to....
The point of the game is not matching tiles quickly. Which, AGAIN, anyone who didn't have their head lodged firmly in their colon might opine, "This isn't even Mahjong Solitaire any more, what is the point?"
Instead, you complete levels by matching two SPECIFIC tiles. Or sometimes three. Because if you can't make things interesting, make them stupid. So generally what you tend to do is match the fewest number of tiles possible to carve away the board around the magical plothole tiles and when you match those everything else gets matched automatically.
Fortunately, if that seething pile of stupid is too much for you to handle, there are two additional game modes; Free play and Tournament.
Free Play is basically the game you expected to get when you bought a Mahjong Solitaire game, and the challenge level is even decently good. There are double-sized boards where you really have to work quickly if you want to clear them in the time limit if you want to test your skills.
Tournament Mode is where the game shits the bed again and then rolls around in it for good measure.
See, Mahjong Solitaire isn't really supposed to be competitive. Hence the 'Solitaire' bit. But the game gives you the option to play against other people. A reasonable person might conclude then, that between two players, the player that matches the most tiles the fastest would be declared the winner. But that doesn't happen, because again they decide to ruin everything with the addition of special tiles.
In addition to the regular runs, there are Bronze, Silver, and Gold 'Yin Yang Coins' that give you a score multiplier, 1x, 2x, and 3x respectively. The way to win is to match as many of these coins as possible first, pumping up your multiplier, so each match you make is worth more. However, the boards in tournament mode ARE completely random, which means you could out match your opponent 10:1 but it won't count for anything if they got more coins than you at the start of the game. Which means tournament mode isn't based around skill so much as dumb luck. So what is the point?
When you play casual games, you kind of know what you're getting yourself in to; Pooly made, cheap games that you don't expect to invest a lot of time in. This game is even more poorly made than most and should be avoided.
I'm addicted to this game Quest 2 online. lol, just wish you could add ppl as friends &/or chat to them. i play it online against others for hours.
yesterday when i play mahjong ,2 and 3 but in middle game they won't let me play any further level i think that game are not working.
If you like mah jong you will enjoy this. The dialog being in poetry is a very nice touch that I always enjoyed, and the art helps give the feel required. The music that goes with each segment is very soothing and relaxing. I used to play this to unwind several years ago, so I am very glad of the chance to get the full set again. It is well worth the investment. Be warned though that it is a tad addictive.
I love this game. It's a competition to get the most points in the time given. It has short games for a quick break between chores.
Majong Quest by iWin is a solid Majong game with bright colorful graphics, quality authentic sounding Chinese music and three modes of play. The story mode alone contains approximately one hundred puzzles, so if you are a fan of the genre it is hard to argue against the value here. Unfortunately, like many casual games, Majong Quest does not support the Steam Overlay or widescreen resolutions, but fullscreen is avaliable. My only other minor gripe about the title is the tile design itself is a little bland and the mouse curso is overly large and a little unweildy on the playfield. Those minor blemishes aside though, Majong Quest is a quality game and worth it's discount price.
