- Fast, frenetic, side-scrolling fun

- Upgrade Jones with increasingly spiffy fire-fighting skills
- Blocky, retro visuals with just a touch of the modern
- Rockin' tunes

Very addictive runner. However, at times the camera gets stuck in a position so high up that the bottom layout ends up offscreen which means you run blindly. Still a fun relaxing game to zone out to.
Jones is a firefighter sent out to protect kittens, both normal and golden, for some reason, from a fire. There's plenty about this game to enjoy, such as daily rewards, missions that reward the player, and even positive, motivating messages. This is a cheerful game, even if it about saving cats from being set on fire.
While there are good things about this game, there's also a few bad, such as maxing out the abilities will take far longer than it should, possibly taking tens of hours to max out if you're unlucky. Also, as the levels get higher, the game becomes so fast that it's less about skill and more about luck.
Overall, it's a pretty decent game that probably shouldn't be experienced all at once, it gets tiring pretty quickly but if played in small intervals, especially given with the daily bonus, then it's worth playing. Just a reminder, Jones is not on fire, unless you play really, really badly.
had this game YEARS ago on an ancient kindle fire, was looking for it on the apple app store for years, only just found it on steam!!! so glad to have finally found this game again!!
really great autorunner game. it has a very original graphical style and addictive gameplay since you can upgrade your character by getting the cats during the game. highly recommend for auto runner fans
Jones On Fire is an endless runner. I got this game for free on my Kindle, got obsessed with it, and ended up 100% it. I saw that it was on Steam, so I decided to buy it and now I'm 100% it on Steam.
A simple running game. Character auto runs to the right while you try to jump and slide to collect cats and avoid obstacles. The speed increases every level up to level 10. It's kinda fun if you like running games, but can get annoying with unavoidable obstacles and uncollectible cats which occur from the randomness of the generated levels. Overall though it's a good game.
A fun little running game and time killer with achievements, badges, and trading cards, that may or may not keep your interest; with only 10 levels that ramps up the difficulty as you progress, it's definitely going to get repetitive earning points for upgrading your abilities, and be prepared for the long haul if you plan on going for achievements. I suggest buying it whenever it's on sale, and/or if you like running games.
This game is fun for about 30-40 mins, but then I started asking myself why I bother. Getting enough currency to buy an upgrade takes way too long to do, and these upgrades do nothing other than make the game slightly easier. There is no reason to grind for hours to max out upgrades for a game that has little depth beyond collecting cats and dodging obstacles, unless you really want the achievements.
I got this half-off with a coupon and still feel like I paid too much for it. There are plenty of free games with much more content than this game offers. Play one of those instead.
It takes way too long to grind for upgrades, considering the game is the same thing over and over and over and over again with 0 changes. It becomes very repetitive, and mundane. Also the soundtrack is going to make you wish you were deaf. Not worth playing I'd say.
+ Simple gameplay & graphics.
+ Kitties. To be saved.
+ 'nough said.
Although if you're looking for a polished runner, maybe look elsewhere.
Simple and fun game, with a lot of cute cat content.
That said the game gets boring after about an hour, afterwards it becomes a grind.

The game.
Jonas On Fire it's a simple 2D side scrolling runner game where you have 2 buttons: jump and slide. It was originally a game designed for mobile devices, and later ported to PC version.
Gameplay.
You play as Emma Jones. She's a firefighter and your mission is to guide her along frenzied levels in flames and save the largest possible number of kittens. With this, you'll collect money and points that can later be used to purchase power-ups. Maybe a little cute concept game but nothing more.
The camera is quite bad (it jerks around like nobody's business and doesn't show the important upcoming stuff). The menus are too poor, meaning you'll spend a lot of time waiting in them.
The gameplay is so bland. It's just a runner game without nothing new to offer. It's just always the same scenery, and an horrible uninspired grind. With ten levels to overcome, the diversity of adventure will not much beyond what appears at first, especially with the visual scenarios.
Graphically it's clearly based on Minecraft fashion that seems to have been, but the style doesn't encourage. At the same time it's a freaking jumping game - the problem isn't the speed of the game, the problem is that it isn't involving skill, it's involving impossibility and unpredictability. You have to jump to pass the flames, and if you jump, you stub yourself into the logs behind, you can't reach the ground to slide under it, so the level can't be completed. Add to this, a huge repetitive game.
Jones On Fire could have been successful if it had been more ambitious but the limitations of converting a mobile game to a home console format quickly become all too obvious. While there's some fun to be had in short, quick sessions, Jones On Fire doesn't take long until it becomes too repetitive and its overall components are clearly weak to what is expected from a platform game. There are so many better runners games and free. I can't recommend this.

Positive points. (+)
- Sincerely, none.
[quote]
Negative points. (-)
- Bland, annoying and repetitive gameplay.
- The progression system is weird and isn't nothing funny. Lots of gameplay required to unlock some basic improvements.
- The camera is quite bad (doesn't fit to the game speed).
[*]Bad controls. The only two are clicking and arrow controls, however the clicking controls aren't explained in depth, while the arrow controls only work on the arrow keys themselves, not WASD, what can hurt the hand/wrist.
I think this game neither as a gift for a friend would be good.
Hey everyone and this is my review about the game!
This is a Parkour automatically sidescrolling platform game.
Interface/Menu/Settings
They give you a tutorial tour if you are new to the game.
You can slide the bar to change the volume to music and the sound.
Music is 8-bitish.
Graphics are pixelated.
About the game.
There are in-game challenges and if you complete them you get some extra points.
You have to save kitties from the fire.
You only have to press the Up arrow key or the down arrow key.
You get points and you could spend them to upgrade your character or the kitties.
White kitties gives white K and golden kitties gives golden K.
The music is decent and it is sort of funky.
You have a health bar and 3 lives. Whenever you ran out of lives then you have to spend Gold K.
If you can't spend golden K to buy lives again. Then you will start all the way back to level 1 again.
Upgrades and challenges will NOT be lost whenever you are restarting back to level 1.
You can recover a health bar by outrunning the fire wall.
Game is very easy to understand and to pickup.
The Parkour will be changed whenever you have died on the level.
Other things.
Jones is a girl...

I Give this game a 7/10
If you have any familiarity with making games in Unity, this is one of those games where it makes you think "Damn, I could make this game", but it's done so well that you want to keep playing it anyway.
This is a two-button (jump/slide) auto-running platformer with skill progression (through in-game earned currency). It's all been done before, but it is done EXTREMELY well here, and the price is right. Great music, endearing graphics, and I really appreciate the female protagonist.
Procedural endless runner with a cute theme. Seems a little easier than something like Bit.trip Runner, possibly because the levels are generated rather than built by hand.
Frustrating obstacles past Hazard 9 where the game goes too fast and you cannot pass them no matter how hard you try (ex: wall + slide log). The problem isn't the fact that it goes fast (i like fast games), the problem is that it isn't involving skill, it's involving impossibility. You HAVE to jump to pass the wall, and if you jump, you stub yourself into the logs behind, you can't reach the ground to slide under it, so the level can't be completed unless you are lucky with the layout.
And the game hasn't much to offer, it's just always the same scenery, and an horrible uninspired grind (it takes hours in order to be able to buy an uninspired upgrade)
There are so many better endless runners, free and paying, I can't find the appeal of this one.
Save kitties, get gold, use said gold to buy upgrades, repeat.
Jones On Fire is an awesome game where you are a fireman (actually firewoman) that saves kitties for a living.
Unique upgrades, fun missions to play, overall a great game.
Yes, I really played 16 hours of this game -_-
10/10 would recommend
I highly recommend this adorable game. This is a runner type gameplay but the levels change up so you cannot just memorize the route.
The sounds are well matched to the game. The visuals are bright and cartoony but still clear enough that you can easily tell what is going on.
You can play only a few minutes at a time or hours on end if you want. Trust me you can quickly get addicted and spend an entire afternoon trying to get some more of those precious golden kitties!
If you are looking for a fun way to blow off some steam at the end of a workday (or on a break) this is the game for you.
Plus you wouldn't want to leave those poor kittens in the way of that nasty fire would you?
Easy to Pick Up, Tough to Master
After each level, you're rewarded with money based on how well you do, which you can use to buy upgrades, power ups, and other perks.
Addicting, humorous, and lots of fun. The more kitties you save, the more populate your fire station! More cats = More happiness! xD
Did a short let's play on it for those who want to check it out before purchasing. =)
Jones on Fire is a fun little time-waster with a simple yet engaging mechanic. It's accessible if you're not a superstar gamer, but definitely challenging enough for more advanced gamers (save ALL the kitties!). I played it first on iOS, and I'm delighted to be able to play it on my Mac as well. I haven’t tried setting up a controller yet, but I think that would be an even better way to play (there isn’t native support, but with a little effort it should work).
I also highly recommend the sorta-sequel, Hot Tin Roof.
So I have just started this game and I love it! The graphics are clean for what it is and it is surprisingly addictive, Simple clean and entertaining all a game really needs to be!
