The only classic YDKJ game I don't recommend due to the shorter amount of questions and also needing to play around with the technical aspects just to get it work in the first place. Also not nearly as well-crafted as the other YDKJ games alas.
I would say that this is the most underrated but really regrettably low for YDKJ standards. By that I meant, the writing feels weak. I know "Lost Gold" means, the questions that may or may not been unused or not made into the previous titles, but that's my speculation.
1) I do like the visuals, the questions and many segmented parts but a short 7 questions including the final round, Jack Attack, was not enough itch of it. And the devs never patched the game where the game never loads or open, which was really sad to say, overwhelming bad first impression for the game. You HAD to have the fan made patch where you need to put before playing.
2) Schmitty is genuinely a draw back for some people, I do too for a bit. I am a fan but more so 2nd or 3rd. 1st being Cookie Masterson. Unlike how he was on Quiplash titles and other Jackbox Party Pack where he/his voice appeared, this, Television and episodes of the Ride sounds like a pretentious man. I know some would laugh at this statement but you could be tired him joking and makes fun of you when you playing this game(s).
3) The jokes were never hit for me. Some people might say it's bad, others say otherwise but for me, personally, it is a hit-or-miss.
I do give a recommend as this is also my personal favorite YDKJ solely visuals. But would not recommend for newcomers. I'd suggest Vol 3, HeadRush and Vol 4.

YOU DON'T KNOW JACK Vol. 6 The Lost Gold is an ancient game from 2003. It's a whopping 21 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run on modern gaming PCs. The game does not work and cannot be played.
This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware.
It was an old party/quiz game, which is fine I suppose, but you can play those for free in a web browser. Why on earth would anyone pay money for one on Steam? Let alone a broken one that doesn't work!
Unethically, the developers have left this on the Steam store in an unplayable and broken state. It's the responsibility of the developer to maintain their product, ensure it runs on all modern PCs, or if they determine there's defects and the game doesn't work, they should remove it from sale instead of misleadingly trying to scam gamers into buying knowingly defective products.
This is harmful to Steam and to gamers, not just because it's a direct and intentional attempt to scam people, but because it takes a share of the marketing space and visibility away from other games. It's polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuine games and for genuine indie developers who put months or years into making proper games find an audience.
So, should you buy this broken game that doesn't even work?
The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the preposterous price of $2 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.
