Rule the world or die trying!
Being a Princess is not an easy job. Being a Queen is even harder. Especially when you're only fourteen years old, and the reason you've inherited the throne is that your royal mother has just met an untimely end.
Now power is up for grabs. You may be the official heir, but much of the country's nobility would love to steal the throne for themselves. Aggressive neighbors will take advantage of any weakness to enlarge their borders at your expense. And that's not even mentioning the magical dangers which are lying in wait...
Can you survive long enough to reach your coronation?

I enjoyed playing this game. The first 30 playthroughs I was going in with my own sense of what I needed, I took a break and wanted to 100% the game, so I came back. The guides made by the communities are super helpful for the achievements I couldn't fathom getting prior. It was a fun experience those times around and for this specific achievement runs I enjoyed sitting back and seeing how the story changed.
My all time favorite "princess maker" game. I adore everything about this game, It has the best qualities of a VN and a game making each section better. I can't shill this game enough, I've bought it three times and played way more then my steam account shows and i will absolutely play it again and again.
I love the skill system and the trial and error of getting a ending, there are so many scenes I've still not seen as I've saved them for future play thoroughs. My favorite parts is how many ways there are to solve each event, I worked so hard to get the no magic endings which was way more trial and error then I'd like to admit but it was fun because of it. The other one is how Elode has a personality that is affected by the choices you make, while it's pretty minor in the grand scheme of the plot it's the small dialogue changes that really make fawn over her and desire to protect her, even when I "accidentally" turn her into a sadist.
All and all I give this game a 10/10. It's not for everyone, there are annoying aspects like being softlocked due to a lacking skill or the learning curve of skills and emotions. but as long as you enjoy vn's and this type of game it is top of it's class. I am always shocked when i realize how ambitious it is for a game from 2013 and how I've still yet to play a vn like this since or ever.
I also recommend not using guides in general or at least untill you've beaten the game once. The trial and error is half of the game and it can become quite the slog when your achivment/ending hunting
I am very hopeful for the new game coming soon, this game will always hold a special place in my heart
medieval death simulator
Long Live the Queen
A short choices-matter visual novel where you try to keep Princess Elodie alive for 40 weeks until her coronation. Manage her weekly classes in subjects like economics, military strategy, lore, magic, etc. while balancing her mood. This game was a challenge for me because I had to learn to keep my princess depressed and lonely, (lol) and eventually unfazed constantly failing the skill checks. This game is a little spicy, and definitely worth 4+ playthroughs! Highly recommend, thank you for this game!
TIPS:
> Elodie takes 2 classes per day. 1 day = 1 week
> ignore the "Bonus to:" and "Penalty to:" box (and follow a guide).
> Do not use the skill checks as a guide for what to focus on.. (follow a guide!)
> Go ahead and put on those costumes :3
Have fun!
it took me many tries to become queen but it was very fun! i liked going back and getting different scenes and endings! the worldbuilding, story, and characters are so interesting! plus, ofc, i loved that you could romance other women. overall, very fun strategy game (even if youre not the best with strategy like me) ^_^
A fun and generally silly (but sometimes severely dark) princess management game. Its very difficult to balance choices as you go, but seeing all the different ways you can fail (as over the top as they all are) is entertaining.
Dark themes, including parental death and a number of adults that want to unalive a 14yo girl. Please, take care of yourself.
My head hurts now.
Short and sweet little management game with cute visuals that has replay value for multiple runs just to see how things would turn out differently if you tweaked juuuuust a one little thing this time around :)
I seem to have the lifespan of a mosquito when I play this game.
One of my all-time faves. Fun art style, multiple paths, and gameplay that's punishing within reason. A delight to play.
Two hours in and i'm opening up fifty different excel spreadsheets and using two calculators back to back to figure out the optimal route to die for the tenth time.
in the very least i got the tell a noblewomen the equivalent of 'nice tits' and got away with it??? like, how????
also i've executed so many people it's not funny. i can practically hear the Geneva Conventions weeping and sobbing into the Hague Conventions' arms.
Long Live The Queen combines charming visuals with brutal decision-making. Survival requires wit as every choice threatens your royal fate.
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
A jolly game about being a teenager avoiding assassins before they can be crowned queen. That whole doki doki vibe of "the music does not fit this game."
Greatest Game of All TIme
I've been playing this game on and off for 10 years and keep coming back to it because there's so many branches the story can take and it's just so satisfying when you finally get past a point you've died at (many, many) times previously. One day I'll get all the endings...
This game isn't actually hard if you use your brain (and the power of savescumming)
oh long live the queen, a childhood classic, how i love you.
I know this joke ain't original, but -- it really is the Dark Souls of Visual Novels.
Utterly difficult in a manner a lot of folks don't take seriously because of the cutesy style.
Personally I fuck with the entirety of the game mechanics so I recommend it!
Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die!
can she stop dying please and thank you
I hope you like spreadsheets and mathematics!
I want to love this game, I really do. It's cutely-styled and the characters are personable, it follows the intricacies of a world that really does feel alive, it doesn't shy away from horror OR from sweetness... It's a very well-written STORY, is what I mean. I wish I could READ this game. But it's not a book, is it?
Long Live The Queen is a difficult game, and that's not a bad thing on its own. I love a good tough strategy game! But that's just not what LLtQ is; there is no STRATEGY in the decisions you make, only memorization and sequence-following. Even writing things down and paying attention; even knowing what's coming and trying to prepare for it, I just cannot wrap my head around anything!
Two big problems make this game totally impenetrable to me: first, all the challenges require a completely unknown number. Sometimes 10 in a skill is enough, and sometimes 65 is insufficient, and there is NO way to know until you try!
Second: some skill checks are basically meaningless, and some are not, and again, there is no way of knowing which is which. If a popup says "Foreign Affairs -> Fail" what's the significance this time? Do I lose a bit of flavour text; do I lose some favour in the eye of the common folk because I look like a brainless dummy; or did I just completely ruin my whole life? I dunno! And I never WILL know!
I love a good puzzle, I love slowly examining a system and coming to understand it. I love that moment of eureka when it all clicks and I know what to do. And that's why I'm so frustrated with LLtQ; after 12 hours of messing around with it, I've concluded that I never WILL see that moment of eureka. If I ever beat this game, it will be because I looked up a guide that told me every step of the way, from start to finish. There is no "figuring it out," there is only trial and error.
I got LLtQ on sale for like $4. Is it worth that price? Maybe. Just, understand what you're getting into.
I wish I could pick something other than Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down! I have played games FAR worse than LLtQ, and it saddens me to lump it in with the worst of them. It's not a terrible game by any means. I only give it Thumbs Down as a way of cautioning a would-be buyer.
If you look at this game and you see a cute world with fun characters and detailed worldbuilding, and you don't care if you need to follow a step-by-step guide to see it all, by all means, get this game.
If you look at it and you see a tantalizing puzzle that you just HAVE to solve, STAY AWAY. It is a trap.
EDIT: There's a "basic guide" on the wiki that will get you to the end of the game, but it follows an inefficient path and doesn't do much other than survive; this is GREAT in my opinion, it gives me a baseline to start from so I can work on the puzzle of the game.
I'm leaving my review at thumbs-down, but I've been having a lot more fun since I discovered that guide. If you still want to play LLtQ even after all my warning, I highly recommend looking up the basic guide!
its so good mannn
One of my favourite visual novels with a lot of various ending, branching paths, and your choices feel like they actually really matter.
Definitely recommend, especially for people that haven't play VNs before and want to try something that's interactable.
nice game, i would like more content from it
i love all the ways you can mess up & die. it's fun :D
DANGG Let a pretty princess liveeee, stop trying to murder smh my head
I remember playing this years ago and not really getting on with it because I just kept dying, but I came back to it now because I had a weirdly specific craving to play some sort of raising sim. It's still pretty hard at first, but once you learn where the checks are for what and you can work out a plan to get around them, it becomes a pretty satisfying challenge... Until you're short two points on a check and your meticulously planned run goes out the window. Once you manage to survive to the coronation once, there's a lot of different routes and hidden content to go back and uncover afterwards.

"This may be the most important post you’ll ever read because it provides a simple explanation about why our world is being destroyed, by design.
I’m not antisem itic nor a N azi. I’m simply a former hacker with great analytical skills who understands what’s happening in the world.
At the end of this post I will quote from a world domination plan. You will recognize the truth immediately because that’s what’s currently happening in the world. Today’s reality suggests that this plan is real.
When you do your own research you will learn that the origin of this plan was discredited and that the alleged creators have nothing to do with it. But who was the person providing the key evidence?
It was allen dulles. The man who raised money from US industrialists to fund Ad olf Hi tler, his Na zi party and his war. The man who later became the director of the CIA during Kennedy and the head of The Warren Commission that investigated the Kennedy Incident. Why would anybody believe a man with such a questionable character?
The protocols of the elders of zion have unquestionably borrowed ideas from several authors but you can say that about most important writings throughout history. It was called a fabrication and is one of the first uses of the term ‘conspiracy theory’.
Why do zionists have a massive overrepresentation in the media, politics, banking and world affairs? How did such a small community get to dominate all the centers of power and information?
Why can isreal ignore UN resolutions, international law and commit a genocide in Ga za to standing ovations in the US Congress? Why is isreal acting like it is above the law seemingly without any fear of consequences.
Read some of the alleged zi onist world domination plan below and compare it with reality. Is all of this just a coincidence?
“Our power will be more invincible than any other, because it will remain invisible until the moment when it has gained such strength that no cunning can any longer undermine it.”
“We shall absolutely control the media, so that not a single announcement will ever reach the public without our control. In this way we shall have a sure triumph over our opponents, for without the media, they are helpless.”
“We will distract the brainless heads with vain conceptions, fantastic theories, rotten amusement, games and filthy passions, so that they will be unable to use what intellect they have. They will never suspect that they have been stage managed by us.”
“We shall establish huge monopolies so that all will go to ruin when the political smash-up comes. We must at all cost, deprive them of their lands, we must lower wages and raise the price of all necessities of life.”
“We shall create an economic crisis, which will stop dealings in all exchanges and bring industry to a standstill. We shall throw onto the streets whole mobs of workers, simultaneously, all over the world, who will rush to loot property and delight to shed blood.”
“In our government, besides ourselves, there must only be the mass of enslaved people, a few billionaires devoted entirely to us, police and soldiers. To do this we must create chaos and hostilities and we must use all deceit, treachery and falseness possible. Our greatest weapon is the media.”
“We shall establish one king over all of earth who will annihilate all causes of discord, such as borders, nationalities, religion, state debts, etc. and get peace and quiet which cannot be secured in any other way. To attain our ends we must foment trouble in all countries, utterly exhaust all of humanity with hatred, struggle, envies, torture, starvation and diseases so that the people will be forced to take refuge in our complete sovereignty.”
“Our master card has been and is and shall be the destruction of all privileges, on the ruins of which we shall set up our absolute autocracy.”
Please be mindful that most pro-isreal comments on social media are generated by the largest bot network in the world, not by real people."
Specifically, this is what has been done, using video-games to brain-wash, indoctrinate, demoralize, and fractionalize, young(er) people who would otherwise be focused-on family and community, is IN-YOUR-FACE, now, and is openly-known to be happening with the games we buy from Steam, and others.

""How the tables have turned in the past decade. If you were involved at the inception of the culture war around a decade ago then you probably remember an abrupt and distinct change in popular media from 2015 to 2016. There was a surge of far-left and feminist propaganda in movies, television, commercials and even video games that was highly aggressive, perhaps even militant. Some people spoke out at the time and questioned the motives behind the trend, only to be smacked down by angry mobs of activists and corporate journalists with accusations of “conspiracy theory” and “bigotry.”
In other words, their claim was that you were not seeing what you thought you were seeing. There was no feminist agenda. There was no gay or trans agenda. There was no socialist messaging. It was only in your head.
If there is one rule that encompasses all political endeavors, it is this: If you have to hide your intentions and lie about your goals when trying to spread your ideology, then something is probably very wrong with your ideology. This is exactly the problem inherent in the attempt to spread woke doctrine – Activists and provocateurs never ask anyone if they want to hear about woke ideas; they seek to force everyone to see and hear woke ideas, to the point that people cannot escape the messaging.
Even more insulting is the fact that even though most of these activists claim to be fans of the media they target, they are usually discovered to be frauds. Woke ideologues have little sincere interest in nostalgia, movie making, video games, comic books, etc. They only care about these properties because they see them as a vehicle to be co-opted, infected and dominated. Leftists know well that if they control pop culture they can control the thinking of the next generation."...
composure composure composure dude trust me, also dont send the boy to live with his grandpa
This a great cozy game with just enough endings to keep me coming back. It has a great sense of humor and simply strategy tactics to keep you engaged.
Someone please call CPS
this game has taught me that i can enjoy crunching numbers and trying (and retrying) different combinations of skills trying to find a new ending. 10/10 would train a teenage magical girl princess to be an evil tyrant only to be forced the flee the country again because i forgot about a skill check
Almost requires multiple playthroughs. The art work is pretty and the music is lovely. Lots of stats and lots of roleplay options.
My first grip is that there a lot of maths to balance which skills to grow along with mood numbers to balance. This is the intended game design, but it didn't gel with me. The game is sometimes interesting when I focused on what skills I wanted to improve in order to succeed a dialogue options for example getting 30 production and 30 trade by week eight in order to invest in printing. My issue is that the mysteries aren't that compelling, juggling numbers is boring most of the time and the sheer number of choices feels more intimidating than the intended lots of roles you can guide the character into becoming.
Now if I did a playthrough all the way to the end then I might enjoy the game more. On one hand, I don't like the story and don't feel connected to any of the character, and on the other hand, I keep backtracking to get say printing press started, then that hospital thing and so on. So, I would backtrack to try and succeed a check I'd fail, thus making little progress and finding the game tedious. The other option would be to continue not knowing what other challenges I would fail and guaranteed to fail most of them, and pass some of vary significance.
Sometimes challenging and interesting, art is nice, finding new dialogue options is kinda cool, but mostly self inflicted boredom of spreadsheet hell. I can see why people like it, damn do I wish I didn't hate maths, and I will likely try again at somepoint.
An underrated game. If you like VN's where choice matters, this is the one for you.
