Understanding that this game is a mobile port is an important part of enjoying it here. Therefore, it has many of the downsides you would expect a mobile port to have, including poorer graphics and tedious pacing.
The game itself plays fine. You choose pilots to go on missions with and engage in turn-based dogfighting combat. The more experience (kills) your pilots get, the more maneuvers and plane upgrades they earn. Rinse and repeat, until the game ends at a predesignated point - the end of the war. There is no grand strategy here, you're mainly taking on inconsequential missions that promise more points for your score and then trying to keep the damage your pilots sustain during the mission to a minimum so as to retain as many of those points as possible.
If you're a fan of historical military aviation and a casual turn-based strategy game is what you're looking for, this is a decent choice. Just understand also that there isn't a diverse roster of planes, and you're predominantly controlling scout fighter aircraft. Replay value will be determined by how much you want to unlock those Steam achievements.
Overall, I personally give it a 6.5/10
Simple, quick, and cheap fun with a satisfying amount of depth.
Nicely captures the feeling and aesthetic.
