Об игре
Эадор — это вселенная, состоящая из множества осколков тверди, плавающих в Великом Ничто. Каждый из таких осколков — маленький мир, со своим ландшафтом и обитателями. If you look at my hours played, I'm a big fan of this game. However, playing it again now after many years, it's a crash fiesta (on Windows 10 at least). Sometimes, you get a day of playing it without any crash. Sometimes - today - it crashes almost every turn.
The game used to always have some issues in the past, almost exclusively during saves and loads. As I don't Ironman, I didn't particularly mind them as the game was so good. But, for me at least, they were rare. Now it can crash at a myriad of game actions on top of that; most vexingly, when you are offered shards to conquer, sometimes you cannot enter certain shards, no matter how often you reload.
Very sad.

Masterfully designed game with amazing lore and gameplay.
Unfortunately this version of Eador is truly broken, at least in my case. On my desktop the game crashes at launch and on my laptop the game doesn't recognize 1080P. Even the mod Fixers of the Broken World couldn't fix this mess.
So I switched to the excellent mod Eador Genesis New Horizons. It's Genesis, but enhanced. What Genesis New Horizons lacks in 3D graphics, it more than makes up with indepth gameplay. If you're looking for THE superior Eador, check out that version. The New Horizons mod is standalone and even a free download. I'm assuming I can't post a link here, but just google on "Eador New Horizons".
So a thumbs down for Masters of the Broken World, but a BIG thumbs up for New Horizons.
Alternatively when you're looking for a more modern 3D version, check out Eador Imperium. Technically it's still a bit of a mess, but at least I got that version running okayish on my current PC.

There is something that catches you for a dozen of maps or so, but the whole campaign is far longer. The route you'd want is even more finicky to execute.
Closing NPC's inside their castles and exploring the map in the mean time is amusing.
Give it a try I'd say.
Excellent game, if you like HOMM chances are that you are going to like it as well.

I really tried to like this game, because I am a big fan of Heroes of Might & Magic franchise (especially V's story is just epic, deserves its own TV series), but it just didn't click with me. Everyone knows it is broken AF, I am not gonna talk about that, but I am gonna talk about aesthetics and graphics. Graphics in this game is not bad, considering its age, but the UI and mapping of buttons are just terrible. Going through tutorial, finding buildings, fuinding what that building builds / produces / does and etc. seems really tedious. I am not saying the game is hard to understand, by all means no, however, the UI should always be easy to read and understandable at the very least, no need to make this confusing for the sake of making a game more difficult. At the very least look at HMM games, they all have the most basic UI and yet they have deep TBS combat and strategies.
