Ordeal of Princess Eris

you are rather free and not chained to specific way to do it. but this also led to some problems. like i am stuck on a boss and cannot go back to city to shop for items so basically my save is stuck there forever, i could go keep fighting the boss until my character leveled up (yea you could still level up and fail repeat) enough to beat the boss without restocking anything, but i think it will take too much of my time, might as well retry from one of my earlier saves. so yea be sure to have extra saves

Cons:

- Game is unbalanced (avoid magic....)
- You have no clue what you are doing (I posted link to guides in the Pinned discussion section, please use that + ending guide in the steam guide section)
- almost all H scenes are rape due to being defeated via battle
- very short (6 hours?) -> will come back to this in a moment
- no teleportation item (aka you need to walk all the way back if you are end of dungeon....)
- True ending is not accessible (see steam guide section how to restore it), aka Incomplete game
- No way to keep track what events can be triggered or have been triggered
- Game is extremely hard in the beginning -> random enemy die easily or 1 of them, kills you instantly (as irony: Start game HARD because the stronger the enemy -> stronger your character get. In 1st Dungeon, try to keep Eris alive. Have Eris Attack and Attack so her stats go up. Heal via Guard, repeat until no more stats increase and you are good to go.)
- All magic and Tech (physical skills) are reset upon NG+ (TIP: use Dojo to get them all back. No cost)
- No bonus for playing Letina's Odyssey

+ Sequel to Letina's Odyssey (tons of characters cameo characters so it's recommended to play LO 1st , especially due to spoilers)
+ If you use the guide -> game get more and more fun since you actually know what you do
+ As mentioned, game is short, if you know what to do and are OP, you can probably finish it in 30-50 minutes? However, each events as well as endings, have multiple variations. Aka you easily add hours if you replay and replay by doing different events: Lose against monster girls vs winning (4 general sub quest), have low corruption vs high (including endings). Selling you allies (via slave market) -> evil Eris ending (DO NOT save as you'll you lose your "Clone" for NG+). What happens if you win, lose or ignore some battles during events. So yeah, this is why I said to use the guide as sadly there is no indication to any of this.
+ Get Hand of Silver (Ring) ASAP (dream world) because for each ring -> said character get and extra move for that turn.
+ Clone System -> any character who joins your party -> will keep their stats and a "clone" will be present during NG+!!
+ All H scenes are unlock in the gallery once you finish the game
+ tons of skills
+ Save anywhere (yes, I hate it when an RPG maker doesn't have this quality of life feature:) )
+ Uncensored H scenes (aka no mosaic. Yep, this is why you pay so much for some of this games)
+ This is the type of game that starts horrible (to many game mechanics, no clue what you need to do) but the better you understand everything, the better the game get!

Good solid rpg.
Choices matter, story is well made and combat is very good.

Good art story and gameplay.
But hentai stories are very boring. Skip mostly every H scene.
if you come for H-RPG I do not recommend it.

Story and H-scene wise, this game is okay. It is not as good as the developer's later game (the persona clone), but it's one better than average (of all h RPG maker games).

The combat however is atrocious. First of all, enemies in every single area levels up with you, which means that the mobs in front of the starting town is as tough as the mobs in the final dungeon. This makes the fighting really tedious because returning to the town is the only way to restore your MP/SP and buy potions.

Secondly, magic is hilariously useless in this game. At the start of the game you can customise your character to be magic oriented, but even if you did your magic spells will little more than tickle the enemies. Also your healing spells are pathetic compared to potions. Just don't bother with magic.

Thirdly the game rarely tells you where you are supposed to go. Now there are some cutscenes and dialogues that tell you where certain events will happen, but a lot of times you are forced to explore every map just to proceed the storyline. Fortunately there aren't that many maps.

The normal mode....way too dam hard. A normal mob on map can doge every attack from you and your wp point only gain from potion...Also, if you think you can just level up from massive clear, you are wrong too because area monster level with you when you stay for too long.This is actual hard core stuff,if you just want to jazz your pants....its not worth it man.

Life as princess can be tough. It's even tougher without patch ;)

This one I definitely don't recommend, there's no progression, and you're quickly thrust into the role of slut without any buildup, you can go from being pure and noble to being raped and suddenly an eager slut in an instant.

This RPG game definitely has replay value with all the directions of routes the story line goes, has legendary equipments, hidden secrets, recruitable/missable characters, multiple endings, easter eggs, rare drops. Definitely not a point A to point B simple kind of game but the story itself is really short when you know how to achieve the good end route. Despite all the above I would love to recommend it but I don't feel this game might be for everyone and the true end is in the game files but not implemented so there is a feeling of incompletion. I definitely recommend witnessing the True End and the story overall was short but I felt it was really good. Probably get this game on a sale if you are interested. I personally enjoyed the game and I hope that if you do decide to get this game that you do enjoy it as much as I did.

really poor quality for a "recent release". not nearly as good as Meltys quest, or treasure hunter claire. This isnt even worth your time to get to the "cut scenes". they are poorly scripted and have the quality of a small child's coloring book. take a pass on this one even on sale. yawn!

I saw a notice that this game isn't getting enough reviews. I've spent at least 20 hours playing. I liked it a lot!

It's the sequel of a game that never got translated into English called "Dungeon of Retina" (Or "Dungeon of Letina") I've only played a few minutes of the older game, so I can't tell you how they compare. This game has some of the same characters, after they've spent some peaceful years forgetting how to fight.

It's impossible to see everything in one play through. The game has a good number of "easter eggs", and you only see all of them if you start the whole game over several times.

You make Princess Eris evil, or good. (With patch) she can finish as a virgin or a harlot.

Some characters join your party depending on certain decisions or battle outcomes. Or if you make a different decision then they don't.

I recommend it for people who like the genre, but aren't looking for a game that is too serious.

This is a doujin game where you mostly play for the gameplay more than anything, the other aspects leave to be desired but the gameplay is pretty decent for what it is.

Mmm I wouldn´t buy it for me again, I can´t nail what bothers me, but the story is interesting.
The Grafik is partial good for an old looking game.
Sometimes you will get stuck and not really now were to go from now on. It´s because of the translation.
The fight is harder than you may think. So don´t go unprepared into it and save more than normal.
What else to write there is a patch for adults.

To many bugs to it that causes it to crash. Installed the latest patch and still crashes every time at devil king fight. I can't recommend a game that crashes.

Not gonna lie it is a very, very complex game and I did had a hard time trying to get the characters and specific endings. The H-scenes are ok but not very interesting but some of them are good. The game is challenging which is not a bad thing to me, I love a challenge because that's what makes gaming fun. Even though few of the H-scenes are meh the artwork is lovely and has a soft look to it and I really like it. The best part about the game is the story, the characters and the best and emotional ending that I've gotten and I can go on how great each character is but my most favorite out of all of them is Princess Eris herself because she's been through a lot from beginning to end, even after the ending I got.

Fantastic and well-written coming of age story.
Great characters (Eris = waifu)

Overall this is good game that I loved it thanks to it's story and characters and how much depth there is on most of them including the art and not many games like these do that but that and I'm glad that I played Ordeal of Princess Eris.

While not the best RPG out there, it's certainly worth a try.

I see why Kagura pick this game, The turn based battle system has some effort. Compare to other RPG there actually a lot of unique aspects to it and I think this is the game biggest positive it's pretty open ended in both it's gameplay mechanics and flow of the story. The art is average and story is pretty generic, but i will still recommend it, I always have a thing for princess protagonist.

I was on the fence on whether I should get this one. It had come out on the same day as Octopath Traveler, and a week before the much more anticipated Ideology in Friction by the same publisher. By comparison, Ordeal of Princess Eris appears to be a mediocre game. And it is... in a sense.

The story is pretty standard. Princess Eris loses her kingdom overnight and escapes to a neighboring kingdom in the hopes to reclaim her throne some day. It's a tried and true formula and makes me want to play Fire Emblem again. I happen to be in the mood for that kind of story so that worked out in my favor. There's a pretty large cast of supporting characters both good and evil. They're all pretty distinct and likable. Calling someone one of the Four Generals just has a great ring to it.

As far as gameplay, there is no experience points. Instead you gain skills and stat increases naturally during battle as you attack. It's very much like Legend of Legacy or the Saga games. Whenever you attack you have a certain percentage chance of learning new skills, raising your HP or WP(used for tech skills) or raising the level of your weapon proficiency. There is a bit of RNG here but it seems to be quite generous at least in the early game where you'll be gaining skills very quickly. There's also a very large pool of skills to choose from for each weapon with interesting effects like stun, attack all enemies, or counter. There's so many it could feel like there's too many sometimes and you'll be left with some skills you never use because there's simply better moves to use.

I have a minor gripe about how the mechanics were introduced after you start the game but you're forced to select your character stats prior to understanding how everything works. I had to restart after realizing I didn't choose the build I wanted.

For the hentai, it's pretty tame. It never goes into any hardcore fetish material. But at least the art is cute. Your characters can receive armor damage which will lower their defense but raise their attack. Once their armor is completely destroyed, the character automatically uses a sewing kit to repair the armor to max health. You can get an armor that lets them always be nude later in the game. Aside from that it's just your typical lose the fight to get the H-scene.

I was worried it would be another Slave's Sword which I could not get behind. That game felt like a complete bore and I didn't feel for any of the characters despite the decent art style. I'm glad Princess Eris is as decent as it is.

This game is not going to win any awards for originality. Yes you can find a better game to spend your money on. It doesn't really stand out from the crowd. But if you have the money to spare, and happen to be looking for an hrpg that doesn't tread too far from the beaten path, Princess Eris might be for you. The rpg mechanics are a little more interesting than your typical rpgmaker game. The story is a bit cliche but enjoyable. The characters are likable and have good designs. It's a mediocre game.(In a good way.)
