DrumBeatsVR is a VR drumming music game that lets you experience the thrill of playing drums on a virtual stage.

Drumbeats VR is AMAZING!
I don’t even know where to start. This game is just so much fun! I've spent hours playing it, and it never gets old. It’s crazy how time flies when I’m drumming away. It feels so immersive, like I’m actually part of a band or a live show.
What I love the most is how satisfying it is to hit every beat perfectly. The controls are smooth, the music is awesome, and the whole vibe of the game just puts me in a great mood every time. Even after a long day, playing this makes me forget about everything else.
If you’re into rhythm games or just want something that’s super addictive and fun, Drumbeats VR is the way to go. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Fairly new to VR and not an experienced drummer by any means. Took a gamble on this game and it definitely paid off. Great bit of fun and would highly recommend because i genuinely had a lot of fun playing this and cant wait to play it more and improve. Great game :)

I'm a drummer of 15 years, there is no hit reg on the drum heads, your sticks go right through them, sounds in terms of velocity is wayyyyy inconsistent, there's like 2 halfway decent scenes to play on, you cant move drums or cymbals, if you're not playing PERFECTLY in time you will fail which is ridiculous due to latency from vr naturally. The only way this game is interesting for more than 5 seconds is if you do freeplay and pretend while you listen to Spotify or Apple Music, in other words, if you're actually a drummer and not someone who is just messing around, stay far away from this ish.
Very will made and enjoyable experience (for me its the best in its genre).
any chance for similar simulation game for Guitar (Acoustic-Electric)?
I liked the game and have played it for a while but when I try to launch the game now, I get a c++ runtime error. I have searched the internet for the error but can't find anything related to c++/drumbeats. I have ran file integrity on it and that doesn't fix the error. The company site is under construction so I can't reach out to them for support. I think I will just find something else to try.
The decision to remove the in-game stage/kit switcher and a *PAUSE MENU* in this latest update is baffling. I'm not 100% sure if the lack of a pause menu during freeplay is a bug or not, but no button on my Index controllers seems to do anything.
Edit 2/5/2023: I did recently try the game again in the tech testing branch (beta branch), and it's coming along. The issues I pointed out below are getting better, but it's still mostly unplayable for me atm. I'll take another look later in development, and hopefully the issues will be completely resolved by then!
Original: Unfortunately, as a former percussionist, and someone who plays piano for fun to this day, I can definitely say this game is unplayable for me.
Sadly, other reviews are correct. The biggest issue had come down to the way the game plays. For me, it didn't register hits properly. The tutorial was impossible to pass, as the game wouldn't recognize hits well enough. It also wouldn't recognize quick successive hits on a single stick (testing in free play mode)
In addition, for someone who is trained to keep beat, the latency of it being a video game and NOT a real instrument is totally a killer. I find that if I hit notes on beat, the audio of the hits are noticeably late. Though this is more unique to those of us who play instruments IRL or have good beat keeping skills.. but it could affect anyone.
I tried to play along to songs, but it just wasn't happening. For now, I'm avoiding the game, and will try to revisit it another date. Hopefully the latency issue will be fixed over time somehow, probably with better hardware, and the issues with gameplay will be fixed soon.
I can't adjust my drum's position by holding grab buttons like before in this version, I was working on this for actually a pretty long time but still failed, which is really a annoying issue. The menu has bugs either, I can't see the adjustments I made before refreshing the menu. The hit area of my drumsticks is really weird, sometimes it feels big but sometimes feels small, I can't feel the feedback correctly. Honestly the older version doesn't have so many problems so I sincerely hope those old version could be a playable choice.

Sticks are laggy, buggy and do not collide with drums. The "pressure sensor" only makes the experience worse by dampening sound that does not need to be dampened. If the developers spent as much time on the actual gameplay and how the drums actually work as they do on the "graphics" and "detail" it might actually be fun and working.
It is impossible to keep any kind of beat with the sticks glitching in and out of the drums so it makes 2 noises where there should be one, the sticks do not collide and simply go through the drums which makes it very hard to play them. The sticks touch area is too large. If you play anywhere near the edge of the drum it will give a VERY dampened sound, so you cannot even hear it, and sometimes play the drum next to it as well.I bought this a while ago, the latest updates have ruined the experience. The "pedal" no longer works with my vive tracker, the drums ALWAYS dampen even when hit at a colossal speed and there is a HUGE delay which means it is impossible to play in time to music.
£7 for this is borderline fraud.
I bought this on April 2020 and I LOVED IT. It had two or three songs that were amazing, but the rest were too hard for me.
I just installed it again (June 2022) and it's plain simple unplayable.
The "tutorial" is unskipable, it's unresponsive, I couldn't even hit the drums freely, much less on "time". When I finished the tutorial after what felt forever, I chose free play to practice and adjust settings. There no access to any menu what so ever. I could't even get out of free mode and back to the main menu. I had to force-close the app and at that point, I didn't bother to re-launch it.
I might come back in 2 years and see where this is at, but it doesn't look good :(
This game was good when I first purchased it, but, a few updates later and it has been left an unplayable mess. Such a shame because I did prefer this over Beatsaber
I recommend this game cause I like the concept, but its hard to play and its badly optimized so if you miss its basicly over and starts lagging like a bitch. I love the concept and Im glad they are still developing it has come a bit but needs more work. 5/10 (Drumbeats in the song now no longer match with the game nor do you hear any response for hiting it correctly??? not to mention hitboxes for the Symbols not working either, how are you suppose to play this at all?)
DrumBeats has been one of my favourite games recently due to it's simplicity and addictive gameplay that reminds me of the long forgotten era of Guitar Hero and RockBand. It's not perfect and kinda barebones but it what is there is great, the drums sound great and surprisingly responsive despite no physical feedback of hitting a real drum. The base songs are varied and sound great, the track charting is well done and the ability to create your own custom songs is a great idea I just wish there was more of a community to make more songs. Negatives include, basic and kinda bland art-style and no ability to rotate in game and setting up the drum height is kinda annoying. Other than that, if you played Guitar Hero or RockBand back in the day, you will feel right at home here.
For a $10 VR game, this isn't that bad! As a rhythm game, this is insanely fun, but if you're looking for a game or an experience where you go behind a drum kit and can play whatever you want (like free drumming) don't bother. This is a great game ONLY if you deal with the rhythm game aspect of it.
However, focusing on the rhythm game aspect is very weak. The fan base is lacking, so that means a lack of user generated content. Trust me, there's one review here that just says "dead game" and they're not exactly wrong, at least in terms of fan support. Customs are a blessing for this game, it allows for more content out of this game and it's even supported by the devs right out of the gate (Although the notes they give you are very limited and actually wrong with the cymbal placement). It's very hard to recommend this game purely because of the lack of user generated content, but as someone who can chart rhythm games and put songs into the game (and trust me, with how fun this game is, I will) I can get behind it.
All I can say is that it doesn't deserve the mixed review is has right now, but I can understand why it does.
I've been dying for a VR drumming game and was excited to find this, but it's just not there yet. It's impossible to reposition your drums and at least with my setup it makes playing really uncomfortable.
Beyond that even the easy levels are difficult (at least for someone that's never drummed before) and there's minimal instruction to help you understand what you're supposed to do (like for two beats right on top of each other, I can't make them work).
There are only a small handful of levels available to play. You can supposedly add custom levels but I didn't bother trying because the beat sync on the included levels was already iffy.
There are multiple stages/backgrounds to choose from which is nice.
Maybe the game is easier for people that play the drums IRL?
I'll be watching this game closely to see if it continues getting worked on, and if things seem to improve I'd happily repurchase.
This could've been a great game, but the lack of configurations ruins the game, can't readjust anything other than headset left, right, up and down, no rotations, can't readjust the bass/pedal further down or up it auto calibrates which sucks hugely because it sometimes start flicking on the pedal, poorly calibrated, and can't readjust the controllers, for example the index controllers you can't do anything and the back of the sticks is at the tip of the controller?? that really does not make any sense. and be able to adjust the drums size would also be needed.
I would give this game 1/10 unless they fix it, hugely disappointed.
It has potential and if you lined you kit up under this it would be awesome but without that feedback and bounce you get on a real drum it feels hollow and off some how. The hit registration for the fast notes requires full movements instead of a bounce making it harder than a real drum kit. They have nailed some of the very few songs they have built in, but then there are also a lot of moments when it flops so hard even when you know you hit those drums in time it just doesnt register.
The concept it good, but this feels like a swing and a miss for me personally.

Just like real music ported through the pc it's tough to get all the timing to sync. I end up playing by ear instead of visual ques and it seems to run smoother and sound better.

Just found this little gem after getting hooked on smash drums.
This is far better mapping but content and development seems to have dried up. Would love this to be a proper full release. As it is do addictive
Quite a cool game, but I have some complaints
Hit detection and registration is a bit scuffed, apparently they've rebuilt it over development from scratch but it still feels pretty janky. This is especially apparent with faster songs.
Song selection is limited, but to be fair this game is in early stages so it's fine!
Overall for a 10 dollar game, I'd say it's very good fun, and it has a bright future, developers seem nice, it's good for casual fun but not for actual serious drumming.

1. pedal support for car driving controllers or something (saw this recommended in another review and think that would be the most compatible amongst gamers)
2. click sound when the drum sticks hit each other
3. customizable drums... would love to rebuild my old set
4. ability to move/adjust individual drums and cymbals
5. more built in songssss
6. campaign mode?

This game is absolutely amazing. Very similar to Ragnorok, the VR viking drum game.
One thing that was weird is how the snare works. If you hit it too hard it sounds like you're hitting it on the edge. Hit it less hard, you get a beautiful, hard sounding snare hit. I'd prefer turning off the former entirely, or at least having better detection when you hit the edge.
Feels more like a demo, just around 10 songs you can choose from for now.
The custom songs... well... we can pretend they don't exist because you have to manually create a file with every single note. You can't just import a song and play it.
Right now there's no content in it to keep anyone playing more than 30-60 minutes, unless they like repetitive stuff or going free mode.
However it is still a decent experience for the price. Hope to see it get better in the future tho, this demo has potential.
It's okay in a way, The only problem I have is the delayed sound as a result from the hit detection, in which I have to hit around 100 MS earlier if I want to be on-time with the music. On top of that, when you focus out of the game window, game audio doesn't work. This is a game changer if you're looking at charts in the background or playing along to Rock Band charts.
First off, I absolutely adore this game so far! The sounds are very accurate on each part of the drum sets and that's awesome.
I mostly spend my time in free play with the Metallica drum-set playing together with Spotify songs which I LOVE! I feel like you don't get too many songs with the game but the ones that are there are well made.
Now onto some pros and cons:
Pros:
+Good Hit Sensitivity
+Very Accurate Sound
+Well Made "Starter Songs"
+Addicting (In A Good Way ;) )
Cons:
-Custom songs sometimes lags and goes out of sync with the drum pattern you are supposed to play
-There's only 3 scenes you can play in, in my opinion that's to few, some more ones would be nice.
-No workshop for customs.
-No race-wheel pedal support.
Ideas for the developers to consider:
1. A workshop of some kind where the community can add custom songs and custom scenes would be really nice.
2. Support to use race-wheel pedals to use the high-hat and kick-drum would make a world's difference. I currently find it very "clunky" to play the kick-drum and the high-hat since you have to use the buttons on the controllers. Support for pedals would be awesome! :D
Summary:
This game was great for me since I don't own a drum-set but always wanted to play drums. Overall this game is very fun and addicting and I can't recommend it enough to any kind of musical people! :D

Amazing game for the price, But needs an easier way to get custom songs, Like maybe even steam workshop or an ingame custom song thing where people can upload custom songs and allow other user to download them directly, Other than that i don't really have much to complain about other than it doesn't come preloaded with enough songs.
