Survivor Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a free, open-source indie game that reinvents the rogue-like, randomly-generated survival genre with its realistic mechanics and potential for boundless adventure. Through its unique and simple ASCII graphics style, a story is told of a world where war and crippling disease have suddenly coincided with a number of freak accidents, and where zombies now roam the streets. You are a lone survivor in this mess, and survival will be your priority. But one thing is for certain: surviving will be tough.

The comprehensive system of perks, stats, and skills means that your character will be like no other. Will you sneak past the zombies and raid houses for supplies, picking them off silently with your crossbow, or will you mow down the hordes with your newly-installed robotic fusion blaster arm and then burn down every building you come across? Will you repair a large vehicle and smash through the hordes at incredible speeds? Perhaps you will mutate into a terrifying creature, a force to be reckoned with. If you become skilled enough, perhaps you will hack through the national defense networks with your computer prowess and flatten an infected metropolis with a nuclear missile.

The game is currently being developed by its dedicated community of open-source developers. The wiki is also in development and is an excellent resource for new players. The game is completely free and can be downloaded at the main website[en.cataclysmdda.com].

The Cataclysm has taken its toll, and there is no time to rest. There will certainly be darker days ahead.
