Based in Camp Pendelton, California it is the oldest and largest active duty Marine Division. Nicknamed the "Old Breed" it has 19,000 men and women serving in it. It was formed during the Second World War and Saw action at the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of Cape Gloucester, the Battle of Peleliu and the Battle of Okinawa. Since then it has served in every major conflict the U.S has fought from the Korea War to Operation Enduring Freedom.
