What Is Black Ops 2 League Play?

League Mode in Call of Duty Black Ops 2 brings the competitive environment to players worldwide. If you’re itching for that MLG adrenaline rush, then League Mode might be the place to look. There are three ‘series’ in League Play: Moshpit, Champions and Team Deathmatch. Each series has its own set of rules, made modes and Leaderboards; all of which will be explained in this article.

The first series of League Mode is the MoshPit Series. This playlist is most suited for the casual player, as it features Domination, Capture the Flag, as well as other crowd favorite objective based game modes, with a little Team Deathmatch sprinkled in. Players in this series earn 1,000 XP for their multiplayer leveling after each win in this series, and 500 XP for a loss. This League is solo only as well, meaning parties of players cannot enter this mode. Finally, all games in the MoshPit series are 6v6, so casual players should be accustomed to it.

The Championship Series allows for both solo and team ranks, but the games are only 4v4. That means you and three friends can create a team and go in to the Championship Series as a single unit, and earn points together. The Championship Series is a mix of Objective Game modes ONLY, so Team Deathmatch will not be on the Championship menu.
