Featuring one or more player-controlled soldiers, everyone must work together to survive against the forces of undead zombies using a variety of weapons, armour, items, and class skills.

Then one day, a player named Azazel decided to come up with a new concept to this zombie survival genre, he named it Night of the Dead: Aftermath, which was revolutionary because it had a proper storyline with a variety of unique classes that were used in combination to contain the virus outbreak that occured in the area, as well as its undead threats. NOTD Aftermath was so popular that there are still groups of player playing it on Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne nowadays.

Following the success of NOTD Aftermath, Azazel (now Ability) released NOTD for Starcraft II during the early 2010s, ongoing developments have led to what NOTD is now - One of the most popular survival mods Starcraft II has to offer, being played on all servers.
