Steam community group for Girlfriend Records

Girlfriend Records was created by producer Eric Sferro as an attempt to pay homage to the faded images and analog sounds of his childhood that continue to inspire his creations today. Deeply rooted in the mystique of the 1980's, Girlfriend Records catalog sees electro, funk, disco, and house knocking knees with college rock, shoegaze, post-punk, new wave, and hip-hop to create musical hybrids that are comfortingly nostalgic, yet unmistakably modern. Sferro culls releases from an array of respected producers, each of whom brings a different perspective and approach to create a unified body of work that constantly morphs and evolves. These tracks provoke the urge to dance at times, but also allow the mind to wander to unseen coastlines, tropical sunsets, neon cities, lost highways, and impenetrable forests.
