This is literatly the only thing I've ever refunded in my life. I used it for about 3 hours and it crashed multiple times in those few hours making me lose all my progress. Each crash I was doing different things so I know it wasn't just 1 buggy feature, it was many. Take your money elsewere.
I just bought this on sale. I was desparetly trying to find another music program, this one is very similar and would be awesome if not for all its bugs and lags. If it could just be fixed. it would be amazing!
Please fix this, Steam! (Or whoever)

Like 90% of the sounds do not work...

SO SO POINTLESS DONT BUY. I GOT ERROR CODE 59 AND I CANT SEEM TO FIX IT
Even with an uptodate machine this game has bugs and some of them i can see on the internet dates back to even the 2013 version.
I cannot recommend buying this from Steam. It is an incomplete product. The Steam version does not include the Vita instrument, the accordion nor the Cinematic Synth. Several soundpools are also missing as are many loops. After investigating I found that these are supposed to be available in a separate download initiated by a menu item. THE STEAM VERSION DOES NOT HAVE this. As a result you do not get all of the instruments or sounds as advertised.
I wasted 7 hours trying to research and troubleshoot why half of what I paid for was missing. I purchased Music Maker outside of Steam and got the complete product. I followed the Steam refund procedure and gave a very verbose description of the isssue. My refund request was denied on the grounds that the 7 hours I had logged exceeded the allowable 2 hours. Nevermind that the product was incomplete. I've resubmitted twice and got rejected both times that I exceeded 2 hours. Kind of frustrating. If any Steam personell comes across this please advise on what my next step is... What I received is simply not what was advertised, exceeding the limit by 5 hours notwithstanding. Thank You.
I was going to give this a negative review(select not recommend) because of some issues, but I am going to keep using(not refund it), so I will recommend it but with severe warnings.
I have an i5 and 4gb ram and this program often freezes/stutters and i have had 2 crashes in the hour I have used it.
On top of that, I cannot find 2 of the instruments listed on the store page(cinematic synth and accordion), either I am being silly and looking in the wrong place, or they are missing. I am willing to consider maybe I just have not found them yet. But the performance is pretty bad anyway. It is just about usable, which is why I am keeping it, because there does not seem to be any reasonable alternative, at least on steam. I had been looking for an audio production program which comes with it's own sounds, because external vsts are a bit messy sometimes, and this is the main reason I went with this program. I am mostly going to use this to create basic sound design for mobile games. I think it might work well enough for these type of projects. If you want to do really pro audio work though, I am not really certain this is the best choice.
EDIT: They have noW adressed the problem and I can now load these Vita VSTs. Not sure if it lives up to the £35 price tag, however, if you catch it on sale it is most certainly worth it. I have had a lot of fun after installing some external VSTs. Very user friendly and it is a good way to experiment with different types of music creation. I would now reccomend this product.
Do NOT buy this product. It will not install the Vita VSTs it says it will and thus you won't be able to use 90% of the sounds that come with the program (which happens to be the most important ones). There is no way to get these sounds externally either. Very dissapointed, and requesting a refund.
TL;DR: Don't buy. It comes with incomplete files that means you can not use the majority of the sounds to actually bloody MAKE MUSIC
