add online pls, this would literally be the best game on steam if that happened
An absolutely fantastic compilation, with some nice extras.
I appreciate them including Bomberman 1 and 2, it really helps showcase the enormous leap in quality between the clunky, brutal, unbalanced "thing" Bomberman 1 was, and the polished, beautiful and tightly-controlled Bomberman 2.
It was about time they put bomberman on steam. These games are retro classics, and I hope red alert games does another collection with bomberman 64.
Awesome collection! You can even digitally unbox the Super Bomberman boxes for the SNES, with the ability to pick which region version you want to unbox for the first 3. A treat for any fan of the series!
I only ask that they add Steam Remote Play support for obvious reasons.
Exceedingly rare Konami dub, its just a solid pack of old Bomberman titles with box arts, cartridge renders and manual scans, all done in a clean and cheery way as it should be. I wont ask for anything more because we all know Konami, they'll royally beef it again sooner or later :>
As a gamer of 41 years now I played and remember all the SNES games and Bomberman was always one of my favorite series, sadly later games seemed to decrease in quality and these SNES classics stand as a perfect and enjoyable homage to the legacy.
An incredible and faithful collection of some of the best Bomberman games ever made, including a brand new official translation for both Super Bomberman 4 and the absolutely amazing Super Bomberman 5, being their first ever international releases. Very much worth the asking price of $20 -- I bought it the second it hit the Steam Store and already got my money's worth on the first day alone. Also, support for this game may encourage Konami to release future compilations of the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 titles.
I cannot recommend this title enough.
As long as you play this game at 60Hz with vsync turned on, this collection is an excellent way to play these old games. If you play the game above 60Hz with vsync turned on, the game runs way too fast and the audio is completely out of sync. If you play the game about 60Hz with vsync turned off, the game runs at the right framerate, but the audio makes bad crunchy noises similar to playing an old game with bad emulator settings.
I have wanted Hudson Soft to release Super Bomberman 3, 4, and 5 in America since I was a kid in the '90s. Hudson Soft never did that, but over a decade after the company Hudson Soft and all of its intellectual properties were acquired by Konami in a corporate acquisition, these games have finally released in America. I think that is cool. This is the coolest Bomberman Collection ever created. I might buy a physical copy of this game later this year for the Nintendo Switch 2 for as long as Konami does not go with Game Key Cards for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release.
If you're wondering what the guy with the Bomberman avatar thinks about the surprise Super Bomberman Collection, he thinks you couldn't ask for more. It's outstanding. Seven games including two newly translated ones (SB 4 and 5), a new boss rush mode, achievements, art gallery, music gallery, cloud saves, scan lines, rewind, save states... for twenty bucks! Feels like a birthday present even though I bought it.
The emulation is well done, nothing about it seems off. Right now there's a glitch where the game speed is too fast when v-sync is enabled and it's enabled by default, but turn it off and everything runs as it should. I assume that will be patched up shortly but until then I haven't noticed any screen tearing with it off, even when scrolling the screen.
Bomberman is one of my all-time franchises, and this collection is an ideal way to bring a large handful of its better early games to the digital age. Fingers crossed the collections keep coming like they did for Castlevania.
This gem of a collection gives you SEVEN Bomberman games, two of which never before localized into English for a mere $20! That breaks down to about $2.85 per game! The emulation is good, the settings cover all the basics, there's rewind and save states for less experienced players, you can view all the original packaging of each game including the manuals, there's an art gallery, a music gallery, and there's even a new Boss Rush mode for series veterans to sink their teeth into! For once we're getting a huge heartfelt game instead of a cash grab like Super Bomberman R and R2...
Thanks to Steam's Proton, the collection works perfectly out of the box for Linux users too!
My only real complaint is the lack of online multiplayer, which only the Switch 2 version has for some reason... I get servers are expensive, but they could've at least added Steam Remote Play Together support for us PC users then. Instead, PC users are forced to settle for local multiplayer.
Super cool this came out. It's weird how Konami is overtaking a lot of companies in terms of basic preservation at this point, and at a time where Sega keeps removing all their historical franchises from purchase.
This is a collection of 7 games, with a focus on Super Bomberman 1-5, I don't believe 4 and 5 were ever localized so that's actually a decently big deal. If you aren't super good at bomberman, I think the rewind feature helps immensely with practice, as well as save states. There are actually situations you can get yourself into that make beating a level nearly impossible so the rewind also curbs that.
The music is good, the sprites are cute, and this is kind of the beginning of Bomberman as a narrative. I think that's a weird thing to point out but there is a surprising amount of story that continues up through the 90s until I believe the gamecube reboots. This series also has pretty good music, Jun Chikuma is really good at her job.
I am kind of a dweeb about Bomberman so the big selling point for me were the rare art scans.
Overall, value for money It really depends on how much you like bomberman but there are a good amount of games here and they're decent emulations. I don't see an option for online play built in and I'm not familiar enough with remote play together to say whether that would work well, but that doesn't matter because for some reason it's not supported, hopefully there is an update that at least includes that. I don't expect per game lobbies or anything, just the ability to play in a direct connection with friends.
My personal wishlist is for all the 64 games to be ported, and maybe the gamecube ones, platformer bomberman is my jam, and hero has one of the most legendary soundtracks of all time.
I grew up with Bomberman. Watched Konami killed it slowly over the years and almost lost all hope of my favorite franchise as a child. Konami randomly shadow dropping this game during a Direct literally made my day. I love the SNES era and this is the best way I can finally play without emulating Bomberman 3-5 and I can never be any happier. All I ask is a 3D collection of the N64 era and my life is yours
Zero remote play, so you can't play with friends online. Unless I am doing something wrong.
While not a perfect port, it is a very welcome (re-)addition to the Bomberman franchise, which has been pretty much forgotten and even neglected by Konami ever since they got their hands on it. I missed playing the SNES series, especially the fifth game, and it's just so nice that it's finally getting a release in modern hardware. Gotta give it to the devs Red Art Games though - you can tell they're passionate about this, given the attention to detail from things such as the 3D boxes and cartridges, the soundtrack collection and the new Boss Rush mode, which I'm glad is an "official" feature in the game now. Aside from a few bugs here and there, this is pretty neat all around.
Hopefully this becomes an introduction for many new players to Bomberman, and thus making for a very good reason to make a follow-up collecion, including the much-beloved Saturn Bomberman (!!!). Online multiplayer would be great too, but for the time being, I'm just happy that we Bomberman fans are getting a few crumbs
Good, yet botched. Would recommend when it eventually goes on sale.
If you’re wondering how playable this collection is, well it’s a solid experience, the Steam Deck is a good solution, other than it being on the go and all, it has a lot of info and is just… phenomenal for archival since it has all box arts, manuals, even music/art! Besides, this is the first Bomberman release in a decent while.
There’s really just two problems I have with it on Steam, number one is no remote play, which is very easy to turn on. Second is audio sync issues when VSync is on, I don’t know if it’s the emulators or what, but for some reason when you reverse these games, audio completely messes up for the NES “bonus” games where sounds and music will bug out weirdly, and the SNES games are just weird as there’s just delayed audio. Don’t know why it exactly happens and it irritates me. This could probably be patched out since I am playing it literally on day one.
What I will say more so as a nitpick is that they should’ve totally added the PC-FX/Genesis games like 93’ and 94’, I honestly don’t know what other collection they could’ve released those in except for this one in particular, even if they could’ve only been marked as bonuses. Who knows, we might get it as DLC or something like that(?)
So it’s generally a good collection even for newcomers, just be sure you personally decide if this collection of 7 games emulated in okay quality is worth the price.
The collection itself is a pretty good selection of games.
The presentation is also lovely with all of the box art, manuals, music etc...
However when it comes to playing the games itself the implementation is bad. These should be running flawlessly on just about anything but yet they dont.
Aside from a glitch that makes the games run at high speeds when VSYNC is ON with high refresh monitors (turning it off solves the issue!), the games run very well.

It is a dream to see those games available again by official means. Been waiting for YEARS.
Menus are very polished and the games run fine

Wondering how they got away with showing off a bunch of Nintendo carts with their copyright on tho.
Game Preservation at its finest, multiple language roms, manuals, box art, concept art, all region carts / box art / manuals. Translations of previous untranslated games. All for 20$ as of writing. A steal and a perfect way to replay and introduce people to these classics. Glad to see Konami caring for their legacy,
FINALLY SOME JUSTICE FOR HUDSON SOFT!!!
Konami actually put effort in adding all the little details with the boxes and UI of the old SNES bomberman games, it took too long for this to happen but i'm glad they finally did it, this is one of the best and i hope they add all Bomberman games and i meant ALL OF THEM, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis, PC Engine, Playstation, Xbox Live, Nintendo 64, Playstation 2 and the list gooooes on!
i still don't accept what you did to Hudson team but i can give you a little respect on the effort you did for this, the games works really well but there's a bug with V-sync that makes the game super fast, as long you fix that, it should be good.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Bomberman is one of my favorites!
This is a wonderful collection and it is the official debut of several Bomberman games that never released outside of Japan before, now fully translated!
There's the usual Rewind/Save state option, a simple optional CRT filter and various display modes/background art to choose from, and each game gets a unique battle mode with its own high score table and difficulty options.
The presentation is quite polished and you can inspect 3D recreations of the original game boxes, take the cartridge out, and read the manual. There is a gallery with high-resolution concept art, organized per game - and also a music player complete with a dancing Bomberman, Everything about the presentation is very polished and well done.
Sadly there is no online multiplayer, I can somewhat understand that given the original platform these games were on - but the developer should at least leverage Remote Play Together so that the games can still be played with friends over the internet on Steam.
The game runs at 90hz on Steam Deck, but the game logic still seems to run at 60fps. The developer should probably lock it to 60hz to prevent issues for some people with higher refresh displays.
At $20 this is a great package, especially if you have a Steam Deck, a few joypads, and some friends around. There's 7 games to play, and many of the later Super Bomberman games are quite surprising and well worth playing.
Hopefully this is just Volume 1, and we will get more collections covering Saturn Bomberman, Bomberman Fight! And the N64 and PC Engine games.
